The Assassins Creed games, for those that have not been initiated into the order tells of struggle between the Templar, whom seek to control and subdue, and the Assassins, whom seek to protect and free. The game series is so popular that Ubisoft have licensed a big screen adaptation, which is set to star Michael Fassbender as Altair (12 Years a Slave, X-Men: Days of Future Past) and to be directed by Daniel Espinosa.
A draft screenplay has already been written by Scott Frank, but with a release date of August 7th, 2015 already set things are starting to pick up speed with news from Deadline that the writers of Ridley Scott's Exodus, Adam Cooper and Bill Colage have been brought on-board to rewrite Frank's screenplay.
Though an Assassins Creed movie is good news to any fan of the series, one wonders why Hollywood is adapting the first, and arguably the weakest game in the franchise. Surely it would make more sense to adapt the character rich, story rich and more popular Assassins Creed II, Brotherhood and Revelations; all of which told the story of Ezio Auditore (Da Firenze - pictured below) - the franchises most popular and charismatic character, much loved by the fans.
