Scified was forged by fans for fans, delivering the latest news, scoops and engaging discussion on the most popular and most widely talked about upcoming sci-fi blockbusters.

We are a fan community, privately owned and operated. We manage a virtual office, with a small staff of dedicated fans, spanned across the globe who help ensure Scified runs smoothly.

Big Things Have Small Beginnings

Scified began originally as a fan website for Ridley Scott's 2012 sci-fi epic, Prometheus. Hosted on the domain Prometheus-Movie.com, this fan site grew to host tens of thousands of fans by the time Prometheus hit theaters. We quickly became a prime desitnation for fans of the Alien franchise. Following our success with Prometheus we wanted to expand our reach and deliver the same high quality, dedicated fan experience to members of different films. Pacific Rim released in 2013 with Godzilla the following year. Scified was born from the collective efforts brought forth by these individual fan communities. Scified was designed to act as the network's central hub for all news and communication between fan groups using our platform.

Where We Are Today

As of 2016, Scified acts as a leading source for news and fan discussion for all things science fiction. Our primary focus remains on sci-fi blockbusters, but we do also cover a variety of sci-fi games, literature, merchandise and television shows. Our community contiues to grow and so do the number of contributors who add fresh content to our network every day.

Scified is still privately owned and are not influenced by any corporation, allowing us to provide unbiased, truthful news and reviews for every film we cover. However, Scified does occasionally work with film studios to promote their films and aid in the promotional efforts set forth by these studios.

The Future of Scified

As we look toward the future, Scified aims to remain a prime source for news and discussion between fans of film. We aim to reach new heights as we continue to innovate and provide new features and attractions for our visitors. By being privately owned, we have no limitations and look forward to bringing the fans exactly what they want - an outlet for their creativity and a voice so they may be heard.

What Sets Us Apart

In an age where anyone can create a blog on any platform, it's hard to remain one step ahead. However, as Scified has grown, so has our understanding of what fans truly want out of a blogging/forum platform. We allow fans to have nearly complete control over the look and feel of their Sites (Blogs). This level of customization translates into personilzation and thus, gives fans more room to fully express themselves and their topics of interest. Whether the site is created to track news on a specific upcoming movie, or to merely act as an outlet for creativity, our Sites platform has grown to accomodate both purposes.

Our forums allow for easy communication between fans of every group and to add, our own custom Teams feature allows members to pick sides and work together to gain their teams more recognition.

As 2016 continues, we will be introducing a custom gallery section, which will allow members to create personal galleries to house their own artwork or to upload posters and screenshots from their favorite movies/games/etc...
