The Oscar winning french actress, singer and songwriter Marion Cotillard, is probably best known to modern audiences for her amazing portrayal of Mal Cobb, the dark and menacing "avatar" of Leonardo DiCaprios wife in Christopher Nolans 2010 visionary epic Inception, yet the young actress has starred in some of French Cinema and Hollywoods biggest films of recent years including Contagion and The Dark Knight Rises, and can be seen later this year in director Justin Kurzel's Macbeth as Lady Macbeth herself. Starring alongside Cotillard in Macbeth will be Promotheus and X-Men star Michael Fassbender in the title role.

According to Deadline, Cotillard will reteam up with Fassbender and Kurzel for the forthcoming adaptation of Ubisofts genre defining Assasins Creed video game franchise. It is unclear what role the actress will be playing but it is expected to be a repeating role should the movie be a success and create a franchise.
If Fassbender is to play Desmond Miles in addition to Altair, we expect Cotillard to play Templar and Abstergo Industries double agent Lucy, along with some similar historical figure opposite Altair.
