Deadline, who previously reported of Pacific Rim 2's new release date, also landed an exclusive on a potential new cast member. Scott Eastwood, son of the great Clint Eastwood, is being eyed by Legendary Pictures for a crucial part in Pacific Rim 2.
Due to the lack of information about the production, both story wise and how the transition from Guillermo del Toro to Steven S. DeKnight happened, there's no information on who Eastwood might play. Should he accept, however, it would be a key part in the film with John Boyega.
Eastwood will next be seen in this summer's Suicide Squad, followed by Snowden this fall. He's currently filming for next summer's Fast 8.
