Power Morphicon took place this past weekend with a massive show and the welcomed return of Austin St. John, best known as Jason Scott. (The Red Ranger from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and the Gold Ranger from Power Rangers Zeo.)
There, Austin St. John announced he was currently in talks with Saban to appear in the next season of Power Rangers, titled Power Rangers Dino Charge. It was recently speculated he might be returning to the franchise.
ASJ didn't comment on what capacity he would be returning. Many fans are hoping he'll be an extra ranger. (There are eleven rangers in Kyoryuger, the show from which Dino Charge is being adapted from. The Silver Ranger plays the part of a mentor-- Fitting for ASJ's character.) Others are hoping he will return with his original Red Ranger powers. Footage from the Kyoryuger movie, Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger vs. Go-Busters: The Great Dinosaur Battle! could be used for that purpose. In the movie previous dinosaur themed Rangers return to help out the Kyoryugers. It would be a good excuse for Austin St. John to return in his Red Ranger gear.
Either way we wish the best for Austin St. John and the next Power Ranger season. The cast for Dino Charge was recently revealed to much praise. A diverse cast waits for Austin St. John should talks with Saban work out.
Do you want to see the original Red Ranger return? Would you rather Austin St. John be a new Ranger? Saban is watching his facebook page and twitter like a hawk, so make sure you sound off:
