MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 9:07 AMWe all know by now that Shaw is having some diffuculties in the medical pod, being attacked by what looks like to be a first-gen facehugger. But if you look closely, it seems ditinctly like a chestburster.

If you look to at the creature's absolute right it looks like the head of a chestburster. To the left it looks like a tail! I don't know, that just what it looks to me. Thoughts?

MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 9:12 AMAnd if you look much closer, you will see an umbilical cord going to Shaw's stomach. In later pictures, she has staples on her abdomen.
Not a chestburster, but some kind of awful offspring compliments of an infected Halloway- at least per the majority of speculators. It has been surgically removed by the medical pod.

I guess the Xeno, we think of started off different and then evolved...by Hollow's hand perhaps?

MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 10:52 AM@ genjitsu17...don't even care how they come about...as long as they do...we were the hosts in Alien...so the Xeno we know and love share bit of our DNA...if the Prometheus crew accidentally created the precognition of the Alien creature (xeno) ...they certainly did not do it alone!

And for those of you who keep calling the Sj's ship the Derelict..... thats not what it is called... that was a word used to describe the ship in the 2nd movie Aliens. So ya.

If this offspring is theoretically a first-gen xeno- not having any Space Jockey DNA or having mixed with David yet- then why is the Xeno on the wall in the cave (or inside the derelict) appear to be the fully-formed version we are already familiar with? It seems to me that the xenomorph, in the form we know and love- already exists, somewhere.

MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 12:48 PMfantastic video work, its pretty clear. If any of you scuba dive, it looks like an octopus, bur eerily strange and something variantly different. I definately see the umbilical cord, so it's pretty obvious that Shaw was impregnated with it and it was surgically removed (via c-section?) possibly a way early variant of a face hugger, but I dont think it is, I think it might be the organism that the Engineers possibly send to planets for terraforming, to clear out whatever indigineous species is there by attiching to it's face and suffocating it to kill it. -just a theory but it definately looks lioke an octopus! ( early face hugere/xeno deosn't comply with depiction of xeno on the mural-that if i recall on the trailer, the mural moves and/or changes? ) ---I dunno..

I'm wandering where these creatures originally came from to infect Holloway - the movement picked up by Shaw in the roof of the cave interests me....

MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 1:04 PMThis is my thoughts: These are the research labs or storage facilities of a race that sets out into the waste space and seeds lifeforms on barren planets or re-shapes allready existing life. If just one of those canisters containt the seed for an entire planet, it would be catastrophical if it is opened uncontrolled and unsupervisored (pandoras box...) There is no pre-xeno, no chest or faceburster, only chaos...
And i think the progenitor of the Alien is the derelict, there is no human or SJ host, it is only the ship.

2 reasons:
- If u put this "squid" vertically he have obviously an egg shape, also with the infamous tentacles on the floor. Yes, it's smaller but it's a kind of proto egg.
- Giger depict the life cycle as the egg comin out from a woman belly as first step. And this prove it.

MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 2:20 PMIt's very fascinating reading these threads and piece together ideas behind this movie. My take is this, sorry for my lack in knowing the characters names first hand, but her boyfriend impregnated her, as he was infected, the eye scene. She also closes a door, what might be this very creature reaping havoc. It could be a whole new evolution of this creature from what may have be known prior, the merging of our DNA with this creatures DNA.

MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 5:31 PMIm thinking the space jockeys are the goo which interacts with organisms changing their DNA and transforming them into the big blue jockey that goes in the suit; thus the caveman with blue veins in the trailer. However, I think the eel we have seen has a bad reaction to the goo trying to take it over and this results in the killing off of the jockey race. Near extinction a chance of humans interacting with the goo resurrects the jockeys but also gives the eel a chance to spawn. The accidental mix of eel, jockey goo and human and the sex between the infected Holloway and Shaw create the progenitor to the xeno....... could be completely wrong though :)
