MemberOvomorphMar-19-2012 4:48 AMI'm so disappointed in myself for watching the new trailer, does anyone else feel the same? It IS an amazing trailer, but, for me, it just reveals too much of the plot, too much information. It's definitely geared towards new fans, not fans like us who want to unpick every still.
Now I feel I know the main plot, have an idea of the beginning and the end, so it'll just be 'the detail' that's new.
I really need to keep away from the internet but I'm an addict!!

MemberOvomorphMar-19-2012 5:00 AMI know what you mean. But maybe we’re assuming we’ve got things worked & we haven’t. I think there will still be lots of mystery in this & new ideas that we know nothing about yet. The problem with prequels is that we tend to know where things are leading anyway. But it’s going to be a cracking ride from the looks of things & let’s not forget it’s not actually an Alien prequel  I don’t think we will be disappointed even with the stuff we think we know so far.

Hey, I thought that after I saw the first teaser, but this trailer opens up soo much more !
I'm SURE the film will too...
I think we have only seen glimpses of the first two acts, act three could go anywhere...

MemberOvomorphMar-19-2012 5:28 AMI believe this movie will answer some of our questions in a way that's expected but by the end, it will raise new questions. ALIEN has a plot resolution but that movie doesn't answer the Space Jockey question, the Derelict mystery, the Egg Silos , the Xenos etc. With all the talks of PROMETHEUS 2, I think the filmmakers leave a lot of unanswered questions

MemberOvomorphMar-19-2012 8:21 AMReally though, if you've been on this site and following the speculation, did the trailer reveal anything that you didn't already sort of know? For me it really didn't.
The only big reveal that I can think of is the Prometheus crashing into the derelict, and that was pretty much a sure thing after the most recent 1 minute teaser. We knew from the very first trailer that some sort of explosion stops the derelict as it was rising, and it had been speculated plenty of times that the Prometheus crew were the ones responsible for that. The only thing the trailer did was solidify that theory and give us the "how".
The one regrettable thing it might do is reduce the emotional impact of that scene, since we can now speculate about who eats it when this happens. For example: I'm pretty sure Idris Elba takes one for the team here. Vickers runs to the escape pods after he makes the decision to ram the derelict, realizing it's the only way to stop it. Hence the shot of him at the bridge, looking like he's screaming at the top of his lungs.
But this is what we do. The people on this site are pretty dedicated to gleaning plot points from the tiny bits of info Fox throws us, and they're pretty good at it to boot (love you guys :D). If you didn't want to know anything about the movie, you probably shouldn't even be here, to be brutally honest with you.
