Trying to find a Film/TV Series name

Hi, I am trying to find a Film or TV series name, its bugging me.  I remember its something todo with a corporation creating portals, I remember a woman scientist putting her hand through a small portal to demonstrate to the press, then at some-point in the Film their is a boy (who is ill or has physic powers)

with his mother, who is drawn to go through a much bigger version of the portal.  he is being called their by something or someone. and a group of soldiers are trying to stop the corp from opening the portal. sorry not much to go on ! the boy goes through in the end.

This sounds like Warrior Nun. Season 1 is on Netflix.
