How will Kal El return in the upcoming film JUSTICE LEAGUE2 RepliesAdd A Reply
If you have been keeping up with the trailers for upcoming superhero films this year, you have probably caught the short preview for the upcoming continuation of the DCCU, Justice League, set to hit theatres November 16, 2017.
So far in the trailers, we know only a few things; Batman and Wonder woman are recruiting Meta-Humans to fight the imminent threat that was whispered throughout both B.V.S. and Suicide Squad. Some of these Meta-Humans are the iconic DC heroes such as The Flash (played by Ezra Miller), Cyborg (played by Ray Fisher), and Aquaman (played by Game of Thrones's Jason Momoa) who have each made an appearance in the primary theactrical trailer. However, there is something, or better yet, someone, missing from the JL equation; Kal El, a.k.a. Superman.
For those who still actually care for The Last Son of Krypton, there are probably a few questions, theories, and predictions as to how the Man of Steel will once again streak across the sky in the name of truth, justice, and the American way. So far though, nothing has been officially said as to exactly HOW this reappearance will take place. However there are a couple of ideas that have been brought up.
There is a possibility that the director/producers may be following the film "Superman Doomsday" where Superman is taken to the Fortress of Solitude and placed in a medical bay to slowly heal in a black Kryptonian "yellow sun absorbing suit". However I doubt we will be seeing a fake cloned Superman terrorizing the city anytime soon, however it would make sense from Suicide Squad, how the "Next Superman may not share their ideals". It may be too much on the nose however, but you never know.
My theory, is that Bruce Wayne is aware of Clark's true 'stasis' state. In fact I believe he is the one who takes him to a safe location for him to heal. Also, I believe whatever threat the team will be facing is going to be much even for our heroes, and at the very last moment, Batman will call in the heavy artillery; in other words a long haired and bearded Kryptonian in a black suit branding a silver House of El symbol on his chest.
Anyone else have any theories as to how the God among men will return to the DCCU?
Though Batman v Superman was plagued with many undesirable issues, one aspect that I did like was the promise of things to come from two scenes...
The first scene is Bruce Wayne's nightmare of the future in which he is caught by Supermans guard before coming face to face with Superman himself. This is the scene that featured the Omega sign (Darkseid maybe?) and the Para-demons. The second scene follows immediately after the former, where we see a future version of the Flash warning Bruce that "Lois is the key".
Many fans, myself included, have inferred this as a possibility that Zack Snyder is going bring to screen some iteration of the narrative we saw in the video game Injustice, whereby Superman goes bad after the Joker inadvertently kills Lois Lane. If this is the direction Snyder is taking us then we may just get a rematch between Batman and Superman, hopefully, one more engaging than the one we got last year.
"Part of the journey is the end..."
