Welcome to day 2 of the Clash of Similarities. Today will be a possible battle between yet another two Allosaurs. And now meet your contestants. Mapusaurus roseae is a pack hunting Allosaur that can grow up to 46 feet long. It is lighter than its cousin Giganotosaurus, but is quicker and more agile at the same time. It lived in large packs capable of taking down even an Argentinosaurus. It lived in middle Cretaceous Argentina. Giganotosaurus is possibly the largest predator that has ever lived. It also hunted in packs, but much smaller ones than Mapusaurus. It was much more robust than Mapusaurus, which weighs up to 7 tons, while Giganotosaurus weighs up to 9 tons. It is defiantly a terror of Middle Cretaceous Argentina. Fight! A large pack of Mapusaurus are taking a break from hunting and rest. Two young twenty foot long Mapusaurus from the pack start to explore the surrounding area, and then start to play a game of tag. While playing, the Mapusaurus don't notice their pack moving on, unknowingly abandoning them. After some time, the Mapusaurus realize that they are alone, but don't think much of it, already being large enough to take down some of the smaller sauropods. They are hungry, and go searching for a good target. The two Mapusaurus, siblings, a boy and and girl, find that in a plain ahead of them, is a lone Amargasaurus. They decide to come up with a simple ambush plan. The male Mapusaurus charges at the Amargasaurus, roaring. The male Mapusaurus has the Amargasaurus's immediate attention. The male runs in and bites down on its front leg and tears a huge chunk of meat off. The Amagasausu roars and tries to hit the male Mapusaurus with its tail, but the male backs away. Then the female comes from behind the Amargasaurus and sinks her teeth into its leg. Then she pull back, and rips a large amount of meat out of the Amargasaurus's other front leg. The injuries on both legs immobilize the Amargasaurus, which is bleeding, but still alive. The Mapusaurus are going to let it bleed to death when a loud roar splits the air. A large 44 foot bull Giganotosaurus steps out onto the plain, angry at the Mapusaurus pair for intruding on its territory, and attacking one of its prey. The Giganotosaurus lets lose with another loud roar and walks towards the Mapusaurus siblings. The male jumps up onto the back of the Amargasaurus and roars back at the Giganotosaurus. The female Mapusaurus runs in front of the slowly ding Amargasaurus and roars back at the Giganotosaurus with her brother. As the Giganotosaurus gets near, the sibling start to feel afraid. The Giganotosaurus has many scars and is obviously an experienced veteran. Then they see just how many scars he has, and that his left side is blind. The female sees her opportunity, and runs to the Giganotosaurus's left side, followed by her brother. The Giganotosaurus has had that scar for a long time, and remembers when his eye was blinded. It was many years ago. He wasn't even a full adult, only about 35 feet long, when he encountered a female Mapusaurus eating a killed Carnotaurus. The Mapusaurus defended his kill violently and quickly. It has slashed its claws across his face and blinded its left eye. He has had a grudge against Mapusaurus ever since, and also trained to protect his blind side. As soon as he sees the male Mapusaurus move, he springs into action. The Mapusaurus had barely gone three steps before the Giganotosaurus grabs him in his jaws. The Giganotosaurus crushes the neck of the Mapusaurus with three tons of force, and then throws him two the side. The Giganotosaurus stares at the female Mapusaurus, and watches as she gives out a loud cry for help and run away. The Mapusaurus runs at top speed as the Giganotosaurus starts casing her. She barely is able to stay ahead, when she trips and is sent stumbling head of over heals. She is on the ground and can just watch as the Giganotosaurus positions to kill her. The Giganotosaurus leans down and gets his jaws around the female Mapusaurus's torso, and is about to crush her when he hears something in the forest. He turns to face the sound, still holding the female Mapusaurus in his jaws. What he sees strikes terror into his heart. The Mapusaurus from so long ago just stepped out of the forest. The Giganotosaurus knows how dangerous this particular Mapusaurus is, and the fact that he has her child in his jaws is like giving a tank nuclear missiles. The adult Mapusaurus roars at the Giganotosaurus and charges him in a blind rage. The Giganotosaurus throws the young Mapusaurus aside and is about to run when six tons of angry mother Mapusaurus slams into him. The Giganotosaurus is sent staggering back, and before he can recover, the Mapusaurus headbutts his side, breaking a several ribs. The Giganotosaurus is disoriented, but he pulls himself together. He faces the mother Mapusaurus, who is looking at her child that the Giganotosaurus did have time to kill. When the Mapusaurus looks at the Giganotosaurus, the Giganotosaurus sees pure hatred in her eyes. The Giganotosaurus knows he is dead, but he wants to go out with as much damage caused as possible. He lunges for the mother Mapusaurus's throat, but is hit with the side of her head, and is sent stumbling backwards. The Mapusaurus lunges forwards and bites down on the Giganotosaurus's throat before it can recover. She shakes her head around, driving her teeth deeper and deeper into the Giganotosaurus's throat. She then uses the fact that she is three feet longer, and a bit taller, and repositions her jaws on top of the Giganotosaurus's neck. She then pushes the Giganotosaurus's neck to the ground, and the rest of its body follows. Still holding onto the Giganotosaurus's neck, the mother Mapusaurus puts her foot onto the its back. She then lets go of its neck, and in one quick jump, puts all her weight onto that one foot that is on the Giganotosaurus. The sudden force to the Giganotosaurus's spine breaks it, and crushes the spinal cord. Paralyzed, the Giganotosaurus can only watch as the mother Mapusaurus tears open his neck, and kills him. The Mapusaurus then goes over to the body of her dead son, and lets out a mourning cry. The rest of her pack soon watch up to her and they make this area their new hunting ground. A few hours later. The Amargasaurus is still alive, and has been forgotten. He will slowly die of blood loss. The winner is, Mapusaurus. It was really down to circumstance. The mother Mapusaurus was angry, and when you get in the way of an angry mother Mapusaurus, you will be destroyed. Next on Clash of Similarities. It was the direct ancestor of T. rex. Daspletosaurus was one of the most terrible tyrannosaurs. Its lighter cousin Gorgosaurus begs to differ. It is tyrannosaur vs tyrannosaur in the next... Clash of Similarities!

Good. Giga was big and strong, but like you said, it was taking on an angry mother. Male polar bears get the crap beaten out of them by females that are half their size. Why? Because they are defending their young. Same goes for dinosaurs. Well done.

I'm wondering, what did you think abut the Amargasaurus part at the end?

That part was interesting. The young ones had a kill. Good fight.

Well, they tecnically had a kill. The Amargasaurus is still alive even to this day.

I wonder if Mapu could beat Giga in a face to face fight with no variables. It had the evolutionary intelligence advantage and speed plus agility, but Giga had weight and possibly length as well as a longer skull.
