Up until a few minutes ago, I believed that two movies that will be released this year were in dire straits. These movies, The Predator and Venom, had up until today done nothing to encourage my opinion to the contrary. It is well publicized that despite a growing horde of negativity towards The Predator, director Shane Black and 20th Century Fox's continued silence is only making matters worse. Bad. or lack of marketing can hinder public and critical opinion of a movie. This is something Sony Pictures Entertainment learned the hard way with 2016's Ghostbusters: Answer the Call. So thankfully after criticisms that the first teaser failed to silence critics and naysayers Sony released the new, full trailer at this weeks Cinemacon before unleashing it online.
Take note 20th Century Fox, this is how you appease the fan base, this is how you silence negativity. With this trailer, Sony has shown that they are listening to the fans and the critics and that they do actually care about the product they are developing beyond its impact on their annual profit margins.
