Today we have three bits of Amazing Spider-Man 2 related news. Firstly, at this Oscars ceremony audiences were meant to see Miles "Bat-Kid" scott join Andrew Garfield in costume as the Amazing Spider-Man on-stage present a video tribute, but the showrunners changed it at the last minute. To make amends the web slinger star Andrew Garfield took 5 year old Miles to Disneyland the day after the Oscars, and has now invited the young hero to the premiere of Amazing Spider-Man 2 in New York, April 24th.
Bat-Kid and Batman saved San Francisco from the Penguin and the Riddler in a public extravaganza to honor the young hero's fight against cancer!
Speaking with US Magazine Garfields rep Rupert Fowler had this to say on the matter...
"In full collaboration with the Academy and the show writer, Andrew prepared a segment for the Oscars to honor Miles Scott as the true hero that he is. At some point overnight on Saturday/Sunday morning, it was decided by those running the show that the segment didn't work in the ceremony," Fowler told Us. "They decided to pull it -- Andrew and Miles were equally upset."
"The producers arranged for Miles and his family to visit Disneyland on Monday and Andrew drove down to visit them and to bring Miles a personal gift, Fowler said. "Andrew did the right thing for Batkid and anyone saying otherwise is flat out lying."
Secondly Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures have released a new promo poster to add to the plethora of marketing the movie already available...
And finally, the studios behind The Amazing Spider-Man 2 have also released a small featurette that focuses upon Peter Parker...
