In Return of the Jedi, the galaxy's most fearsome bounty hunter, Boba Fett met his supposed demise - a death many fans feel unfitting for such a formidable character in the series - by falling helplessly into the maw of the dreaded Sarlacc Pit. For years fans have debated whether or not Boba Fett managed to escape the Sarlacc Pit and if he would ever return in a later film, canon comic or novel. Since Disney officially discounted most of the expanded universe, leaving only a few new works as canonically accurate instalments to the franchise, any occurrences of Boba Fett's resurgence have since been rendered moot. However, the canonically recognized novel Star Wars: Aftermath may have confirmed Fett's survival after all!

Star Wars analyst and dedicated fan The Stupendous Wave shared an interesting video on YouTube, which outlined Aftermath's subtle hints of Boba's continued existence within the Star Wars universe.

According to the novel, which takes place after the events of Return of the Jedi, a couple of travelers discover a Jawa Sandcrawler on the desert of Tatooine and within its haul, various junk including parts of a wrecked Sail Barge, very reminiscent of the Barge Jaba the Hutt used for Luke Skywalker's (failed) execution. Also found within the Sandcrawler is an abandoned set of Mandalorian armor. The armor is described as being partially melted and disfigured.

The reasoning behind why this all but confirms Boba Fett's survival, is due to the fact that Sarlaccs kill their prey by slowly digesting them over a thousand years. Initially they inject their prey with neurotoxins and then proceed to slowly digest their bodies with stomach acid.

It is suggested that Boba Fett survived the Sarlacc's attempt at delivering its neurotoxins thanks to his armor and that his armor also shielded Fett from the Sarlacc's stomach acid. This would explain why the Mandalorian armor discovered, had a partially melted appearance to it.

Although Boba Fett does not actually make any appearance in the novel, it is heavily suggested that he did in fact survive his encounter with the Sarlacc.

I just want to correct something in the article, or perhaps I'm just misreading but the line:

Although Boba Fett does not actually make any appearance in the novel, it is heavily suggested throughout, that he did in fact survive his encounter with the Sarlacc.

I've read Aftermath and can say that besides the offhand mention of the armor in that one single chapter, nothing else ever references him being alive. So to say throughout is a little misleading. You may be talking about the video referencing him throughout it though so if so my mistake, I didn't watch it.

That Armour looks badly melted, i doubt Jawas recovered it from the Pit Monster unless the Sarlacc Spat it out!

So you have to wonder how burnt would Boba-Fett be under that Armour..... Maybe the Snoke is Boba-Fett theory holds some weight now LOL
