Hello All! Todays episode takes place in the Silurian as it was recovering from the Ordivician extinction. If you want to know more about the animals in this episode, check out my website alldinosallthetime.weebly.com If you haven't read the earlier three episodes they can be found under the discussions tab on my profile page. Now, on with the show! New World Terra is a thirteen foot long Pterygotus. She has washed up on the burning hot shoreline and is near death. But how did Terra get here? To figure that story out, we need to go back thirteen years to the time of her birth, when the world was just recovering from the Ordivician extinction. Thirteen Years Earlier Terra has just been born into a world entirely new to her, and is ready to take it on. The water is murky and tinted brown, and there isn't much coral growing on the rocks of the sea floor. Terra is about to swim away from the nest when suddenly she is snatched by a huge three foot long claw. It's an adult Pterygotus, but luckily it's her mother. Terra is directed tword her mother's location, and does as her mother does. Terra buries herself in the sand next to her mother and waits for prey to swim by. Terra spots a small Jamoytious. As Terra springs from beneath the sand, the Jamoytius quickly jigs in the opposite direction. Terra follows suit, and suddenly spots a Brontoscorpio in the distance. Brontoscorpio is about four feet long, and a stinger the size of a lightbulb. A foot long baby Pterygotus is poultry in comparison. As the Brontoscorpio starts to swim twords Terra she knows that she has been spotted. Terra turns around and is ready to swim back to her mother, but she is quite a ways away and Terra is not a very good swimmer. The Brontoscorpio is closing in fast. Terra cannot keep pace and as the Brontoscorpio closes in she knows that it is the end. The Brontoscorpio rears it's giant stinger and prepares to strike the killing blow, but just as the stinger comes down, the Brontoscorpio is hit with thirteen feet of fury. It's Terra's mother, and the impact killed the Brontoscorpio instantly. Terra was hit by the stinger, but not with the full force. The impact with the stinger will leave a spiderweb like scar on Terra's back. For the meantime, Terra is safe with her mother and her siblings, and the Brontoscorpio will keep them fed for weeks. Terra doesn't know it, but her tranquil days are numbered Three Years Later Terra is being driven away from her mother violently. The Pterygotus babies unfortunate enough to stay behind are eaten by thier mother, and as Terra swims away she can hear her siblings being crushed by her own mother's hard mouth. As Terra swims away from the violent scene, her sibling, which haven't been fed for a few days, are desperate for food. Terra knows that her siblings are willing to kill each other for food. Terra swims away as far as she can as fast as she can, but unfortunately that leads her straight into Brontoscorpio country. Terra is about four feet long, but the Brontoscorpio can match that size, and are more than willing to kill Terra to heighten thier own chances of survival. As Terra is swimming along she feels a sudden pain in her right side. It's a Brontoscorpio, and it's ready to fight. Weak from hunger however, Terra is not fit to take on the Brontoscorpio, and moves on. Then she feels a pain in her back. It's the stinger from the Brontoscorpio this time, and she is filled with rage as she turns around and charges the Brontoscorpio face first. She charges so hard that the face of the Brontoscorpio breaks inward, and as it floats to the sea floor, she begins to consume it. Then, out of the blue, a fully grown Pterygotus comes with it's sights set on her meal. To avoid confrontation, Terra swims away quickly, but she has already eaten her fill. Terra will do well out here in this newely recovered world. Two Years Later Terra is about seven feet long. She is untouchable by Silurian standards and is on top of her new world. As she swims along, she spies a Brontoscorpio in the distance. She speeds up, and breaks it in half on impact. She begins to eat her kill when once again the fully grown Prterygotus arrives on scene. She is still to small to take it on and quickly leaves. Terra needs to find new hunting grounds. She begins to move off in search of new territory that is clear of any fully grown Pterygotus. As Terra arrives on a new turf, now full of colorful corals and clear water, she begins to search for any other Pterygotus. She finds none and begins to hunt her favorite food instead. Brontoscorpio. She waits behind a coral shelf, and when her prey least expects it, she charges outward destined for the Brontoscorpio, who has other plans. He lifts up one of his massive claws, and catches her face. He brings up the other claw and scratches her eye, leaving a pale mark along her eye, blinding it. The Brontoscorpio is putting on quite a fight, but when Terra srikes the center of the body with her claws the fight is over and the Brontoscorpio is dead. Terra begins to feast in peace. Two Years Later Terra is seven years old and nine feet long. She can kill with ease, and is a very ruthless animal. Blind in one eye Terra lacks depth perception, but that doesn't seem to affect her much. Terra is a ruthless killer, but that is all about to change. A fully grown, highly aggressive male is approaching her and is making a challenge for her territory. Terra decides to fight. As she charges the male, she realizes that she is coming at too straight an angle. The male catches her in his ginormous claws. She feels a terrible pain in her back where her old Brontoscorpio sting is, and suddenly, she feels it snap inwards. As she escapes from the male's grip, she swims away, just nearly missing death, but still possesing agonizing pain. Terra will not heal for several months. Suddenly, Terra sees the worst possible thing that could happen at this moment. A Brontoscorpio, and it has plans to eat. As the Brontoscorpio charges, Terra can do little or next to nothing to defend herslef from the scorpion. She waits for the ideal timing to catch him in her claws, but suddenly she feel tremendous pain in the side of her head. She missed, and the Brontoscorpio has broken in her armour near her head. Terra can do nothing but swim away at a rapid pace, but suddenly the Brontoscorpio is sucked into a strong current. The Brontoscorpio is caught in a tropica storm, and his fate lies in the rocks. Terra gets herself a lucky escape. Two Years Later Terra is at a full adult size of thirteen feet. She has two large gashes in her armour. One near her head and one on her back. Because of these and her lack of depth perception, she hasn't been able to hunt very well lately. Suddenly, she spots a smaller juvenile Pterygotus on the ocean floor. She begins to charge at full speed. When she is about to make the kill, she feels a searing pain, and blacks out. Terra has missed her target and slammed into the ocean floor. Her lack of perception and the kinks in her armour have caused her to swim down at an odd angle and miss her target. When Terra comes to she is still in intense pain , but in more than one place. Small Pterygotus are feeding on her, suspecting that she is dead. Terra decides to take advantage of this and eats a baby eating near her mouth. All the others scatter in the same instant, and Terra swims away, her stomach dangerously empty. Suddenly, a mother Pterygotus attacks the back of Terra. Terra knows that she can not defend herself, epsecially against the mother's rage filled attacks. Terra barely gets away with her life, housing several deep gashes in her armour all over her body. As Terra swims away, she is ambushed by a Brontoscorpio, and although the ambush does not do much, it does knock Terra into a strong current, the like of which can only lead to a tropical storm. In the next minute Terra cannot tell up from down, and she is getting smashed against rocks left and right. Terra blacks out yet again. When Terra comes to, she is baking on a shoreline. She doesn't have much longer to live, and she is dying quickly. Suddenly, a lone Brontoscorpio wanders along the beach, and Terra, paralyzed by the many impacts from the rocks in the storm, cannot fight it back. The Brontoscorpio will devour her, and Terra will die in the hot Silurian sun, very slowly, while she reminisces on the life she had just lived. Then Terra closes her eyes for the last time. Well, that's all folks! I hope you liked todays story! I'm sorry there were so many time lapses but life as an apex predator can be kinda boring. Anyways, it's time for the vote 1.Dunkleosteous 2.Cephalaspis 3.Hynerpeton 4.Hyneria Until Next Time!

Hyneria. Good story again. Pretty sure Pterygotus was only 6 feet.

Yeah, it was only about six feet but I wanted to make things a little more interesting. Unfortunately that turned out to just make Terra be an unrealistically huge Eurypterid

It was still good. Shows that even a top predator does not have an easy life. Well done. I'm saying either Dunkleosteous or Hyneria. Not sure which. Both are pretty cool.

Well that did not help. I love both, but I shall give an answer to help. Hyneria. We've seen saltwater creatures already. Time for some freshwater. Now, let's get on with this so we can see how this goes down.
