Have you guys ever read what started this amazing franchise (if you havent, then you really should)? There is a lot of things that they changed or didnt put in the movies, like the carnotaurus in The Lost World, the 2nd younger T-Rex in the first book, the cursing in the 2nd book, and the horrifying gore in the 1st book. In my opinion, if they based the movies off of everything in the books, the movies would have been rated R and maybe even more awesome than the real movies.

Or in the first book, Hammond. It changed the whole course of the second book, and set the book The lost world waaaay apart from the movie. I'm not gonna spoil it for anyone, but I'm assuming you know what happened to Hammond in the end. But, I agree with you. The boos were definitely more violent than the movies, and a lot different in many ways.

I read the first book in 2 days and the second in a day. The first was closer to the first movie than the second and the second movie. I love the books and think the movies are great. Books are slightly better than the movies in my opinion.

The part where the Tyrannosaur breaks out of the enclosure for the first and the part where the T-rex takes Dodgson back to the nest. The part where the male rex takes a crap on the car in the second was pretty funny though.

Yes it was! Mine would have to be when Nedry gets eaten in the first book, and when they meet the Carnotourus in the second

The Carnotaurus part was not bad either.

I've never actually read the books. I think based on this discussion, they are good, so I will look for them in a book store.

You really should. Best books I ever read followed closely by the Hunger Games trilogy, haha

Raptor Red was very good too.

I've only read the first book so far, it's defintley way different than the movie, the characters are slightly different and yes, it is a lot more blood thirsty as well. I liked the story, I was a little disappointed though with what happened to Hammond at the end, being how I picture Richard Attenborough playing him from the movies but great nonetheless. Still have to read The Lost World though.

The books were amazing *my mother keeps complaining ive read it too many times, but for an avid jp fan you tend to pick up little detail and such that you didn't know about before, in my case I've read both bout maybe... 43 times... altogether.... yeah...* The books were so good i think that critchton was leading on with something, wanting to make a third book *SPOILERS* for we never learned what happened to all the dinos that got off the island, im thinking theres more then the juviniles on the boat in the book ... sadly i believe Universal beat him to it... Although the movie was his idea, i think a book would've been better...

I am hoping they will reboot the series and make something much closer to the books. Though Chrichton did make the mistake of killing off several of the main characters - and then having to resurrect one for the follow up. Which was a bit lame. "SPOILERS" One of the most important aspects of the book was over looked. Several of the species were breeding and getting off the island. This was briefly mentioned but nothing came of that information in the movie. In fact Grant smiled at the fact and moved on. In the book the urgency to get back to the visitors centre was based on the fact that Tim saw raptors on the boat leaving for the mainland and they had to make sure it didn't dock. "END SPOILERS" If you haven't read them - make this your mission before they release JPIV or JP reboot.

If a 3rd book will be made it should be base off the Raptors comics.
