Chapter 14 (Final) of my Godzilla 3 script. (Edited 1 time)

MIST started preparing for the attack against Godzilla. While the ones with functional suits improvised barriers with the numerous tank and aircraft carcasses, Ford
ran though the battlefield placing Claymore mines and C4 charges on strategic spots. Takashi jumped and landed next to him. In front of them, Godzilla was recovering
from his severed tail and the blast damage.
-When I became an EOD, the last thing I imagined that I was going to do, was setting traps and bombs against the US military.
-We have no choice Ford. We are going to try and use non-lethal force as long as we can, but it won't be long until they overwhelm us. From that point, we better hope
Godzilla wakes up as soon as possible to have the minimum casualities, which brings me to the thing that worries me most: you are defenseless. What are you planning to
do if things get ugly?
-I don't know... Part of me wants to go home, back to Elle and Sam, but the other makes me want to stay and fight alongside my other family.
-We can handle ourselves. Please promise me that you will be safe, and if we loose, you get away from here before the first nuke is launched. Do not forget that even
though Elle is angry, it is because she is worried about you.
-Thanks a lot Takashi. You have been more than a friend.
-We are a family. We take care of each other.- she opens a comunication link with the HQ- This is Ice Queen. We have established a defensive perimeter around Godzilla.
We think that they will concentrate the attacks on the tail wound since it is the most exposed and fragile bodypart, we will be able to hold against the average
rockets and missiles, but once they bring the nukes, we won't be able to do anything.
-Roger that. Dr.Graham also ordered Ford Brody to proceed to the extraction point ASAP.
-What? I can't leave them here?-says Ford
-It's ok Ford. It was innevitable. We will get you a working vehicle. Drive and do not look back. Your family is waiting for you.-says Takashi.

1 hour later

The mass of US military starts covering both the ground and air as MIST readies the weapons and get in position.
-We are screwed.-says Hammer
-That is putting it lightly, mate.-says Heartbeat.
-SeriouslY? You were quiet the whole time and now that you decide to talk, it is to say nonsense.-says Goodnight
A massive, roar-like noise is heard.
-Did you hear that?-says Goodnight
-Yes. For a moment, I though you exaggerated in the feijoada again.-says Hammer
-Girls, stop fooling around, our boy is waking up. Make sure to keep that tail covered.-says Takashi

The ground starts shaking, not because of the tanks converging on them, but because Godzilla started moving his arms to help getting himself get up. He exchanges a
look at the small beings in front of him, that without him knowing, are there to protect him.

-This is Ice Queen. Godzilla is getting up. We are bypassing part 2. I repeat, we are going to escort him right away.
-Roger that Ice Queen. If you get him out of Shipwrock they will think twice before using nuclear weapons. But one way or the other, make shure that they don't hit the
exposed part.
-This is Hammer. I know it sounds crazy, but can we by any chance, cauterize the wound?
-Negative. Gojira's reptile physiology will help him recover the tail. Don't bother with that. Just focus on the armed threat.
-Roger That. Hammer out.
-Ice Queen out.

Meanwhile, an explosion on the ground is heard.

-The first line is breached!-says Heartbeat
-The use of lethal force is authorized.-says Takashi

Godzilla stands up and starts limping away, followed by the battle between MIST and the US army. A jet manages to evade the attacks and shoots a rocket at Godzilla,
hitting him on the wound. Godzilla roars and looks back at the jet that returns to get another shot, but before he fires, Heartbeat cuts off the left wing, causing it
to spin and crash into the ground with an explosion. Godzilla looks at the tiny creature in the suit and Heatbeat looks at the giant behemoth in front of him.
Distracted, Heartbeat is hit by a rocket, projecting him away. Hammer is among enemy infantry, favouring his melee skills against the rifle. Goodnight and Takashi
disabled enemy vehicles, with Goodnight cutting the cannons and mounted guns from tanks and jeeps, while Takashi jumped from jet to jet, tearing off their missiles and
breaching their cabin and forcing them to eject. MIST had the upper hand, but more reinforcements would come. The enemy gave up on engaging the team and concentrated
their fire on Godzilla. Godzilla roared and started hitting back on the enemies. He raised both arms, closing his fists and punched the ground, creating a shockwave
that made the ground troops jump several meters in the air, only to crash on the ground, smashing the tanks and jeep and crushing several infantry troops below the
carcasses. Without annymore place to take cover, MIST jumped into Godzilla's back, taking cover on his spikes. It did not take long before the air units retreated.
-Are they going to send the nukes now?-asks Goodnight.
-I don't think so. They have lost too many. There were no winners today. Just the ones who lost the less. -HQ, this is Ice Queen. The enemy retreated. Permission to proceed to phase 4.

-This is HQ. How about Godzilla?

-He seems to be fine. But have the extraction chopper with Brody to track him during his way into the ocean.

-Roger. You are then clear to proceed with Phase 4.

White House
Washignton D.C.
3 hours later

-Mr.President, Air Force One is ready.
-Thanks Charles. Any word on Godzilla?
-He is being escorted to the ocean by on of their helicopters. No trace of the rest of the team from Shipwrock
-They are coming for me.

From the window in the oval office, the president could see the many protesters against the conflict that withouth them knowing, ended up in a bloodbath. The USA have
lost. Outside, MIST landed before the protesters. Silence reigned until the protesters realized who they were. The team was immediatly surrounded by angry civilians,
insulting and grabbing them. They bashed the front gate open and the security detail immediatly held them at gunpoint.
-We demand the President of the United States to surrender to us.

After a while, the president gets out.
-It seems that whatever crimes the UN court is going to judge me for will be nothing compared to the mass murder that you have commited.-he turns to the people in the
crowd.-These monsters just killed thousands of soldiers, probably your loved ones are among them. And now, they are going to judge me?

Takashi jumps in front of him and grabs his arm.

-Enough talking.

The team jumps away with the president.

Monarch HQ

1 day after the battle of Shipwrock, the team landed on the heliport and were greeted by both Graham and Serizawa.

-Gojira is going back to his trench.-says Serizawa-His tail already shows signs of getting better.

-At least that-says Takashi-I am done with this crap. I am going home

Takashi leaves while the rest of the team stares at her.

-Takashi wait!-says Ford.

-What? Oh, I am sorry that I cannot join you on our "after-mass-murdering" party.

-What are you talking about?

-Just... go back to your wife. She is worried sick.

Ford let's her go as she enters her car and drives away in full speed.

Takashi's home
Janjira, Japan
1 week later

Takashi was laying in bed. her house was completely filled with trash from ordered food. She could hear the bell ring but she wouldn't get up.
-Takashi, it's me Ford. I know you're in there. Open up.

After a while, the door opened.
-Get in before wou wake up the entire neighbourhood.
-It's 1 pm Takashi. I guess that won't be a problem.
-Make yourself confortable.
-This cannot continue. You can't live in here like this. It was not your fault.
-The blood is still on my hands.
-Do you know who you remind me of? You remind me of an old man that lived for 15 years alone with guilt.
-Do not compare me to your father! I... Just please leave me alone.
-You have been alone for too much time. Godzilla did that. The the team is accepting that, except you. Please, come back to us.

Takashi looks around.
-How is your wife?
-She is ok. We are going to move away. In fact, I just came by to talk to you before we leave tonight.
-So, you took my advice.
-Yes. And now I want you to take mine: please return to your family.

Takashi takes a deep breath.
-I will. Goodbye Ford. And be happy with your family.

Ford smiles and hugs Takashi.
-Goodbye.

He walks from the house and hears the door shutting behing him.
-Good luck Ice Queen.

EDIT #1-Added an explanation to what happened to Godzilla. The most important element managed to be forgotten by me :/ but I think that the problem is fixed now.
