MemberOvomorphJul-23-2012 8:57 PMI used one of my audio programs to amplify and break down as much as I could of the audio call. I have no clue if this is interesting to you guys or will even help AT ALL but for what it's worth here it is:
"Hello, welcome to Weyland Industries. We are now seeking candidates for numerous positions aboard Prometheus. Re-launching 10-11-12. If you are interested in helping us build better worlds, please remain on the line, and we'll connect your call to the ships personnel director."
- Approx 5 to 6 seconds of just "on hold music" -
"We are now connecting your call to Prometheus. Please hold, and someone will be with you shortly."
- Approx 2 to 3 seconds of '1st sounds of connecting' (just random digital SFX) -
Followed immediately by:
- Approx 1 to 2 seconds of ' Static then almost dial up internet sound then either a phone picking up or hanging up -
Followed by:
- Approx 6 to 7 seconds of a combination/blend of:
[1]
4 steady sirens spaced apart (approx 1 sec) resembling a breach type warning siren with the 4th siren being cut of approx 3/4 of the way through.
+
[2]
(steady beeps that may coincide with the breach siren)
+
[3]
A sound from a creature that does very much resemble a snarling sound the "Deacon" made at the end of the movie. -
Cut to:
- Approx 1 to 2 seconds of distorted re-connection sound -
Cut to:
- Approx 4 to 5 seconds of a person (presumably in a space suit, and also presumably human) Inhaling slow, Exhaling slow, Inhaling quick or cut off. -
Cut to:
- Approx 4 to 5 seconds of (Presumably) an Engineer speaking. -
Immediately followed by:
Either
"What did he say"
OR
"What is he saying"
OR
What did he s*****
What is he s*****
with the presumed "(s) ay / (s) aying" being possibly a trick brought on by the sound effects to make it seem as if the (woman) is in fact using the word ("say") or ("saying").
OR
The sound effects being blended into the actual word ("say") or ("saying")
- - -
The very end of that blended and then continuing with:
- Approx 2 1/2 seconds of a multitude of phone connetion / distorted sound effects -
Cut to:
- Approx 10 to 11 seconds of 'dial tone' that fades out. -

MemberOvomorphJul-24-2012 11:53 PMNice work on the audio. And what is the outcome?
Was it worth the effort? Are we now wiser then before?
Is earth a better place now? Should i do some bacon and eggs?
Questions over questions...

MemberOvomorphJul-23-2012 11:21 PMi want to figure out what did the engineer say! there certainly is a meaning to it, the filmmakers used proto-euro-indian language or something like tht.

I'm pretty sure that fellow forum member Sukkal already put the question of "what the Engineer said in the audio" to rest, by assuring us that fit's a dead end. At least for now.
Here is a quote by Sukkal from inside THIS thread.

"For about two years I have been studying constructed languages extensively—specifically those that have been commissioned by film franchises to enhance their movies. When I heard that David (and one of the other Engineers) learned and spoke in an 'alien' language in the film, I surmised that Dr. Biltoo was its creator and I was correct. I have been in touch with him.
He did not just create a bunch of gibberish. He did a very thoughtful version of a language that is theorized to have been spoken on Earth over 5,000 years ago. He is a professor of Sanskrit at the University of London and well-versed in the theories of Proto-Indo-European (PIE) that was mentioned by deftones1986 above. Perhaps one day there will be a more thorough sketch of the language available, but for now a version of Schleicher's Fable exists and it's quite an extensive text that reveals a lot about the verbal conjugations and nominal case system. I also know from Dr. Biltoo what sounds in "Engineer" are allowed in word final (coda) position according to strict phonological rules. There are also two distinctive ingressive labio-velars in the language (/qwh/ and /gwh/). If either of these had been properly spoken in the phone message, it would certainly signify Dr. Biltoo's involvement in the recording. Sadly, neither is."

This is mainly the reason that, instead of trying to figure something out that Sukkal assured me is a dead end, I said I might as well just break down the actual recording itself into as many small sections as I could.
I've yet to see if this will pay off at all, or if it just turns out to be "a neat little tid bit I did."

MemberOvomorphJul-23-2012 11:44 PMWould it be the cut scene that about the conversation between the last engineer and David?... And someone who asked "what did he say" should be Weyland?

That's what I was thinking.
This audio is most likely just random internet dial up mixed with phone SFXs, added with distortion, added with scenes from the theatrical release, added with scenes from the deleted scenes...
That's conclusion I'm coming to so far, especially after breaking it all down.
But since 101112 is at the root of all the questions, and the Blu-ray will already be out for a few days before that date, we are still stuck asking what the hell 101112 is going to reveal with all the "Prometheus will re-launch" audio and viral hints.
Are they trying to recruit real people to become actors for the sequel?
Are they going to announce a Ridley Scott special screening of him explaining every detail in theatres, or online?
Are they going to announce a whole different version of the movie that was kept secret unil now ( referring to 10-11-12)?
Are they going to announce the release date of a sequel?
Is is just going to be news about the new Blade Runner sequel going into pre-production?
Are they going to say Prometheus was just a dream?
Are they going to say Yutani went on the REAL mission?
Are they going to say that they looked at all the forums, and whatever they chose to be the best idea or explanation, will be turned into some kind of movie or footage?
LOL the possibilities are ENDLESS!!!
And it's time for bed now!

Something Ptometheud related (Not BR) is my bet,,
THe word 're-launch' is piviotal
THis sounds like a great opinion survey question for the site.
And I vote for ..a sequel is in the can ...for release Christmas 2012!

Audio link again above...to me it sounds like david - or a man with a similar voice at the end saying "what did he say" ... Although vickers does say "what does he say" to david in a simlar fashion it does sound slightly different so maybe they played with the audio :S... it wasnt from the end scene either infact I am not sure if its from the film at all...probably just a group of random left over audio clips from making the film that they pasted together - would be annoying if it ment nothing x-(

MemberOvomorphJul-24-2012 11:19 AMwow... all that to hear "what did he say"

MemberOvomorphJul-24-2012 12:44 PMYes. it looks like some ancestor chanting in higher frequency and then human saying "what did he say".

The "Engineer speaking" segment is definitively NOT anything that was cut from the film, at least not anything that was a part of the original production...
