With it sounding more and more unlikely that Disney / 20th Century Studios plan to continue Ridley Scott's Alien prequels quadrilogy (of which only 2 films have been made so far), I'm curious what the Fandom really wants to see next. For me personally, I want to see what becomes of David's journey, I want to see Engineers again, I want to dive deep into the origins of the mystical beast that's terrorized space since 1979. The Alien 5 / Aliens / Marines vs. Bugs story angle has been done time and time again, in film, literature, games and more.

I say, give me more questions while teasing me with clues to answers. Don't spoon feed me the Alien's secrets. I want to think. What I loved about Prometheus were the open-ended questions. Many fans hated this aspect. But unlike Avengers and superhero movies alike, with Ridley Scott's Alien prequels I wanted to be immersed and engaged, not just mindlessly entertained.

So what about YOU? Do you want the prequels series to continue? Or are you open to a new direction? Alien 5, or something completely unrelated? Sound off below!

Something new would be my choice, it's too much about David right now and I'm not interested in that. Keep the engineers and the black goo, they have had Ripley in four movies and various Morphs (Xenomorph, Neomorphs, and so on) so why not the Engineers? If they are smart enough they try to introduce something new to the franchise like they did with the Engineers in Prometheus.

Voted to continue, I want to see what happens next.

I don't like the David character....., but I don't want to see an ordinary 'bug hunt' movie....and that's how I fear they would start fresh. The Xeno is a one trick pony.

Well, look at that. Despite all the moaning about the prequels that goes on here, the great majority of fans want to see more.

Move on with something new. In fact, skip a long theatrical release all together. It would likely have key parts left on the editing room floor for the sake of brevity resulting in a convoluted mess. Continue with a streaming series that can flesh out both characters and story over a season rather than two hours.

I VOTE to Continue.

Especially in LIGHT of Alien Covenant, you see with Prometheus it was meant to ONLY give subtle Clues to Alien and was NOT a Direct Prequel, and so with Prometheus you could have Carried on with NO SEQUEL... what Happened on LV-426 and the Xenomorph kept a Mystery, where David and Dr Shaw go also could be  kept a MYSTERY.

With Alien Covenant its indicated we are seeing the STARTING POINT of the Xenomorph Origins and that as RS had said this would Gradually lead us to the Back Door of ALIEN and so AC has SET itself up to have a Sequel.

The Problem we have NOW is due to the Time-Frame which is 17 Years and we have to ASSUME that the Logical Direction is to WHERE we see David going Next which seems to be Origae-6 which means he WONT arrive until 2112 and so that LEAVES JUST 10 Years for Davids TWO Face Huggers to become Thousands of Eggs on a Engineer Ship that ENDS UP on LV-426

Your NOT going to find it Easy to get from AC-ALIEN in just ONE MORE Movie Considering all the Pieces that have to come together, and if the Next Movie was more about DAVID and would have NO or Little to do with the Xenomorphs then i am NOT sure that Fans in General would watch it and i DOUBT it would make Money.

Fans i feel would want to get to the Business END of when the Engineers turn up (or Space Jockey) and we see Xenomorphs on a Rampage and then those Eggs on that Ship, they would likely NOT Care for WHAT KIND of a World that David wants to Create that would eventually go to POT by the 3rd Act of the Next Movie.

There is HOWEVER a Compromise FIX but then thats NOT going to please everyone.

Regarding something NEW well it depends what is NEW, i think DISNEY would prefer to do something OLD, and that would be a more Xenomorphy kind of Movie thats more Action Heavy and so more of a Aliens, Alien Resurrection and AVP than say a Alien, Alien 3 or like Alien Covenant.  But its what kind of STORY/PLOT and would it be anything REALLY NEW?

You CANT center another set of 2-3 Movies around Ripley

Making it SOLELY about he Xenommorphs for 2-3 Movies will become Stagnant unless they can EVOLVE the Xenomorph from say what we saw in ALIENS.

I think the Alien Universe has other Aspects that could be Expanded and Explored and as DK had said, a Streaming Series would be IDEAL for that Purpose.  But to have the Xenomorph involved a lot will INCREASE the Budget and if you have a SMALL Budget and Plan EPIC SCENES and Monsters you RUN the Risk of the CGI being VERY SUB STANDARD.
