This is an alternate universe where Zilla’s parent (parent of Zilla from Godzilla 1998) came from a meteor and crashed into the earth during the late Cretaceous 72 million years ago. She was roughly 25 feet tall, 60 feet long, and 12 tons. The Zilla species can only grow past that size if they come into contact with extreme radiation. She asexually reproduced (yes that can happen without a mate) and laid one egg. But she didn’t want anyone to challenge her rule over the land masses (which she only found out AFTER she laid the egg, being the 18 meter dick that she is) so she left the egg by itself in the wild and went into the hollow earth to grow, expecting the egg to be eaten by carnivores. The egg soon hatched and Zilla was born. This is The Zilla Chronicles.

Note: some of these facts, times, and habitats are told wrong for the pleasure of the reader. So sit back, relax, and don’t take it too seriously.

                         CHAPTER ONE

A huge, two-meter tall egg sat in the jungle. Birds made sounds all around them. An ankylosaurus herd sat nearby, drinking from a river. The egg was just sitting there when a quetzalcoatlus saw the egg and swooped down to eat it. Thinking that this was going to be its meal, a sound came out, sort of like a tapping noise. Tap. Tap. Tap. The quetzalcoatlus approached cautiously, confused by the sound. The tapping stopped and the large pterosaur walked over and tried to pick the egg up, but it could not. It tried for a minute or so but it still could not lift the egg. Agitated, the quetzalcoatlus stabbed the egg with its beak, hoping to break the shell and eat what was inside. The shell broke open, and was something inside. The pterosaur looked back on its last egg meal, recalling that the creature should not be this big or developed already. The quetzalcoatlus ignored that thought and lifted its beak out of the ruptured egg. A small noise came out of the dark egg, sort of like a whine. The quetzalcoatlus kicked the egg and it broke apart on a tree. The creature, covered in fluid, stood up and stumbled out of the shadows. It was the size of a deinonychus and it had long arms with opposable thumbs. Small spikes start small on its neck and become big on its back and back to small down though its tail. It resembled a theropodal creature. This was Zilla. He would grow to be the biggest of his species over tens of millions of years in the hollow earth. Zilla shook his head and body to get the fluid off of it. The quetzalcoatlus tilted its head at the Zilla with confusion as it had never seen something so large and peculiar before out of an egg. Zilla tilted his head back at the creature. The quetzalcoatlus walked toward ZIlla to take him back to its mate. Zilla squirmed back and forth as vigorously but the pterosaurs’ claws did not let go. On the other hand, the quetzalcoatlus was wondering how its claws did not pierce the thick skin of Zilla.

The quetzalcoatlus dropped Zilla into its nest near an African swamp a few hours later from a height that any other dinosaur that size would die from, but Zilla stayed alive and looked up at the quetzalcoatlus with anger. The male quetzalcoatlus, dropped down from the sky after dropping Zilla and the female, walked toward Zilla. There was a patch of eggs behind the female. Surrounded by two giraffe-tall pterosaurs, Zilla was doomed. He heard a river nearby. Zilla roared as loud as he could and looked directly at the male quetzalcoatlus. The two quetzacoatli took a few steps backward. They approached again and started harassing Zilla with a series of beak jabs. Zilla tanked a few of the jabs without little effort but the male quetzalcoatlus lifted off the ground and landed on Zilla with extreme force. The female walked away, thinking that the male would kill Zilla. This maneuver was repeated over and over, but Zilla stayed alive. The tired male stopped jumping and looked at Zilla. There was a crater under Zilla but Zilla opened his eyes and jumped on the male, its claws ripping through the pterosaur’s fur and skin. Zilla slashed with his arms and legs over and over again, carving into the quetzalcoatlus’ chest cavity. Soon, the quetzalcoatlus was dead and Zilla was eating it. The female walked over to the sound of the commotion and screeched in anger at the sight of Zilla standing over the dead male’s body. Zilla turned around and looked at the charging quetzalcoatlus. He turned around to see the quetzalcoatlus lifting into the air and flying away, just to come back at ZIlla flying and breakneck speed. Zilla ducked under the speeding quetzalcoatlus and let his back spikes do the rest. The female quetzalcoatlus’ chest was cut open and all of its vital organs were exposed. The quetzalcoatlus groaned weakly and died from blood loss and sock.

The quetzalcoatli and the eggs would feed Zilla for another two days, occasionally going to the swamp to get some water. One time,  Zilla saw two huge creatures on two legs with some kind of sail on its back with eggs near the tree line. Interested, Zilla moved closer to the creatures and saw that cracks were appearing on the eggs. The creatures sat eagerly, waiting for something to come out of the egg. Something clicked in ZIlla’s keen mind and he realized that he had just been that egg a few days ago. But he wondered where his two creatures that waited eagerly for him to hatch. A head poked through the eggshell and the male creature nuzzled the female. Three other eggs hatched that day and Zilla was mesmerized. By the time Zilla decided to go back to the quetzalcoatli, it was already sundown. He went back and saw that the corpses were gone. Looking around, ZIlla could see well in the night, being specially evolved to see in darkness. He could see a big, three-toed footprint in the mud. Zilla sniffed that air and remembered the scent of the quetzalcoatli and followed where it led.

At a certain point in time in this timeline, it branches off into two other timelines. One being the JP/JW universe in which Zilla is still is still in his pre-Kaiju state and the other one being the Monsterverse, in which Zilla is a full grown Kaiju, much bigger than the one seen in Godzilla 1998. Which one would you like to see?

CHAPTER FOUR

A rock flew through the vacuum of space. 25km in diameter and moving at 2,300 kilometers per hour, this was a deadly rock. Something inside it made it even more deadly. Something… alive…

It has now been one week after he had left the Spinosauruses. Zilla had been eating well and now he was 15 feet tall, 32 feet long, and 6 tons. Zilla was slenderer than most other creatures his weight. Most of his weight came from his thick hide and dorsal plates. Zilla has been learning the patterns of different animals; when they breed, where they fed, and how aggressive they were. Zilla was now resting in a jungle, next to a dead Bahariasaurus, a theropod. Zilla enjoyed killing things that put up a fight, like an ankylosaurus or a triceratops. Zilla had been swimming a lot, trying to discover new animals but did not find any. He had this nagging feeling, like he had to go somewhere but didn’t know where. Zilla was swimming normally towards Africa to meet his Spinosaurus friends but something happened. Zilla looked down and saw a light. The nagging sensation got stronger and stronger. Zilla went towards the light.

The pressure of the ocean got heavier and heavier as this was the deepest Zilla had ever gone. The source of the light came from an open area with air. Zilla was very confused by this and he surfaced out of the lake. Zilla immediately felt lightheaded, like he was about to pass out. He shook his head multiple times to make his vision clear again. After the lightheadedness passed, Zilla felt empowered like he had all the energy in the world. Zilla walked around for a bit until he heard distant roaring and screeching. The ground was shaking violently. Zilla smelled something he had never smelled before. He smelled… him.

The scent he had picked up smelled like remotely like himself. Zilla didn’t think it could be possible that he had smelled something like that. Maybe his mind was playing tricks on him. But no, the scent continued on. He followed the scent but the roars and screeches got louder and the shaking of the ground grew stronger. His legs were turning to jelly from the constant vibrations. He felt a shadow go over him and saw something HUGE. It looked like a quetzalcoatlus but did not have a beak or legs. Zilla knew that that creature would swallow him whole if it noticed him. After the creature had passed him, he continued to follow the scent. The sounds got so loud that Zilla had to see what was happening. He deviated off the scent and made his way towards the sound. Zilla went through the forest and climbed a mountain to get a bird’s eye view of what was happening and what he saw he was not prepared for.

Zilla saw enormous creatures fighting each other. One side was a humongous, black creature with huge dorsal plates that looked remotely like Zilla’s. The black creatures kept shooting blue things out of their mouth. And the other side was a monkey of immense proportions. Zilla had never seen anything like it before. The monkeys kept on punching the black lizards, sending them stumbling back. On the other hand, the black creatures shot the beams back at the monkeys, burning them alive. A beam nearly hit Zilla after a monkey punched the lizard while he was firing the beam. Another one was coming toward Zilla at lightspeed but Zilla’s quick reactions saved him. He turned around instinctively and showed his plates towards the beam. The beam hit him and he was sent flying. Zilla hit a tree and went unconscious.

Zilla woke up a few hours later and felt like something was on his back. He had grown. A lot. He was now 18 feet tall, 38 feet long, and 9 tons. He felt something was now inside his back. He tensed up his muscles to pop it out but something behind him started glowing. It was his plates. They had somehow absorbed the beam. Zilla built up pressure inside his body to get it out but it didn’t come out the way he expected. His jaws could not hold the pressure anymore and the blue flame burst out of his mouth. His eyes and mouth started glowing. The battle had finished, with the lizards being victorious, only a few remained. They were standing over their dead enemies and their fallen comrades. They noticed the blue flame coming from the top of the rock. By the time they noticed, Zilla was finished and he was lying down, exhausted. The titanus-gojiras walked over and took a close look at Zilla, their big eyes casting light over Zilla. They made sounds, possibly talking to each other. Zilla remotely understood their language. These creatures were much smarter than the Spinosauruses. Zilla heard, “baby, atomic breath, how, absorbed, and alien.” Zilla got up and tried to talk to them but they did not understand. They walked away, leaving Zilla at the mountaintop.

Zilla continued to explore for the scent of him but many other scents were there. He had grown even more. He was now 25 feet tall, 60 feet long, and 12 tons. He finally found something that could lead him to his scent. A huge door that had symbols of his species. They had scorch marks all over them, sort of like the scorch marks on the Titanus-Kongs. The Titanus-Gojira species had tried to break through here, but they could not. Then, a large rumbling noise started. Zilla struggled to stay on his feet as the door started lifting up.

When the door was fully lifted, he saw the source of his scent. His mother, in hibernation.

CHAPTER FIVE

Jira (Zilla’s mother)’s eyes snapped open as soon as the door fully opened. She was cranky to be woken up from her hibernation and was very hungry. The radiation can only keep an animal sustained for so long. Jira growled angrily at Zilla, while Zilla was in shock. He had no idea who was in front of him, and why she as angry. Jira started to speak, and Zilla understood every word of it.

You? I thought you were dead.” Jira snarled.

“Who are you!?” Zilla retorted.

“Me? I’m your mother, Zilla. I left you for dead weeks ago, and now you’re here. It’ll be nice to finally kill you myself. Wish I had done it before.” Jira snapped.

“Why do you want to kill me!? I thought all things cared for their young?” Zilla replied.

“Well, not me. Our species would, but I am not our species. I wanted to be the only one of our kind on this planet, so I left your egg out in the forest, and came down here to grow.” Jira said.

“Oh. Can’t we just live together? Like all things do?” Zilla asked.

“Ha ha ha ha ha! Do you think I ever wanted an offspring?! I didn’t do it myself! It just happened!” Jira yelled.

Zilla, now getting angry, roared as loud as he could and said, “I hate you!”

His roar echoed through the humongous caverns of the hollow earth, and he heard a loud booming noise.

“Great. You’ve brought them here.” Jira said.

A large foot came into view and a Titanus Gojira turned toward them, surprised that the door she and her species had been trying to break through for centuries, opened. She thought that these puny creatures had opened the door themselves. So she roared to her friends to come here. Then, something happened.

A loud scraping noise came from the door. It was dropping down. The Titanus Gojira noticed this and yelled louder to her comrades to come quicker. More booming noises started. The door, being big enough to accommodate the Titanus Gojira, started sliding down even further. The Titanus Gojira found a spot between her dorsal plates and ridged the door between them, using her entire body to keep the door aloft. The door, somehow being heavy enough to push a Titanus Gojira closer to the ground despite being thinner, pushes the Titanus Gojira to the ground. The Titanus Gojira got out in time to not get crushed by the physics bending door, leaving Zilla and Jira alone.

“Now, back to what I was planning to do.” Jira said sinisterly as she dashed toward Zilla. Zilla dodges and Jira goes flying past.

“Ha. You actually learned something you useless slug.” Jira said after she regained her footing. Up until that comment, Zilla was trying to refrain from hurting his mother, but Zilla changed mindsets. ‘Treat others as they treat you’. Zilla’s mind flashed to the Spinosauruses, and how they had taken care of him when he couldn’t. Then, his mind flashed to his mother, who left him for dead in the middle of the forest.

Zilla was now hell-bent over killing his mother. No, she was not his mother. She was a monster who only cared about herself. Zilla opened his mouth and slid his rows of long, thin sharp teeth out of his gums. Zilla could not even close his mouth fully because his teeth intersect when he tried to close it. Jira’s face paled.

“No one in our species had had teeth like that before. Which will make it even more pleasing to kill you.” Jira remarked.

Zilla moved toward Jira. Jira lunged forward and chomped down on Zilla’s neck but Zilla rose his arms and slashed at Jira’s neck, ripping her gills open. She stumbled back, roaring in pain and Zilla slashed at her again.

“I had to survive two quetzalcoatli pecking me to death because of you!”

Zilla slashed her across the skull, skewering Jira’s eye out.

“I had to survive a sarcosuchus’ death roll because of you!”

Zilla rammed Jira and she fell to the ground.

DO YOU THINK I CARE!?!?” Jira roared. Jira kicked Zilla in the stomach and he was disoriented long enough for Jira to get back up.

Zilla righted himself and charged toward Jira with his mouth wide open. Zilla predicted a slash from Jira so he stopped before she could slash him. He continued charging and before Jira could slash him again, Zilla chomped down on her neck, his long rows of teeth ripping through tendons, slicing muscle, and scratching bone.

Jira tried to roar but only dark red bubbling blood came out. Jira tried to break free but every move she made let Zilla’s teeth cut into more radioactive flesh. Zilla let go and Jira collapsed on the floor. Surprisingly still alive but too weak to move.

Zilla said, “The only thing that works in this world is that you treat others as they treat you. Those that have treated me with kindness, I will repay that kindness tenfold. And those that treat me with injustice, that use me, that hunt me down, that hurt my friends! I shall repay that injustice a thousand times over.”

The only sound Jira made was a bubbling sound. She was drowning in her own fluids. Her jaw went slack and she died from blood loss. Zilla had something inside of him that liked killing things, and he let that something get the better of him. He smiled maliciously. A large rumbling noise came from above, but the door was not opening. Then, a deafening BOOM sent small pieces of rack raining from above. He quickly ate all of Jira’s extremely radioactive organs and went close to the door. The door started opening and five Titanus Gojiras were standing there looking at him.

They turned away, concluding that nothing interesting was inside the door. Zilla exited the chamber and the door slammed shut. Zilla trekked through the forest and found the lake he surfaced in. He exited the hollow earth and made his way to where the boom came from. He saw rocks in the air raining down. A meteor hit.

He got to land and made his way to the meteor. He smelled something. It was the scent of him again. He ran faster and found the crater where the 25 km meteor landed. It was moving 1,000 kilometers per hour and it and all of its surroundings had been pulverized. But Zilla went closer, needing to know where the source of his scent came from. He finally found it. Xilla, a female of Zilla’s species Zilla’s age, rose up from the rocks. They locked eyes. Zilla knew something was about to happen.
