MemberLegendOct-23-2019 12:46 AMAdmin, please post for general site exposure. Thanks!
Hello, Scified! Over at the Alien Covenant forum about a year ago, some of us were talking about how Alien affected our dreams at times. We were going to make a thread about it but the idea died as key people seemed to leave.
Why not open this up to the site to include everything from Alien to Predator, Godzilla, Pacific Rim,- everything on Sci Fied?
My good friends I Raptus and Ingeniero are involved and we are shooting from the hip right now.
For now, think of an actual dream or nightmare you had that involved your favorite scifi character and share it, no matter how bizarre it may be. And please don't just make things up- be honest.
Not sure how this will end, but let us begin.
I have a bizarre dream that is strange enough that I have to work it to make it coherent for the site. I will post ASAP.
Let's have some fun and see where this takes us!

MemberLegendOct-23-2019 1:59 AMAll right- I guess I should go first. Hopefully it makes sense- you know how dreams can go.....
The Dream
This dream actually scared the **** out of me. Here goes:
I was wandering about an environment that must have been LV 426. I was in a building that was straight out of Hadley’s Hope. Metallic, grilled floors and plain grayish walls……with smatterings of what looked like blood everywhere. I could hear a Xenomorph nearby screeching with heavy footsteps- it was looking for me. I found a storage box to hide behind in hopes to regain my breath while the xenomorph found somewhere else to go. The footsteps grew louder and faster and were honing in on my location. There was nowhere else to go. I was screwed.
I awoke in darkness in my bed shaking and sweating. It was 0330- time to get ready for work. I got out of bed and started my routine. The S3- ****, shower and shave. Hopefully the stimulation of the second S wouldn’t elicit a recurrence of the first, as it sometimes does- there was no time. I felt so tired, as if I never actually got any sleep. I decided that I had good attendance at work with tons of sick time, so I decided to blow off work that day. Screw it. Back to bed.
I awoke to daylight shining through my bedroom window and knew that daylight meant I was WAY behind getting to work- forgetting that I blew it off earlier. I was in a panic and still felt dazed and tired, yet scared that I was running late- this was not like me!
I felt a bit better hearing the coffee pot hissing away in the kitchen- coffee- the savior! At least I remembered to set the pot the night before.
I rushed to the kitchen for a quick cup to dissolve the cobwebs from my brain. As I approached the kitchen, the hissing grew louder and took on a sort of animalistic quality. Maybe the coffee pot needs cleaning again. As I rounded the corner and entered the kitchen, a tall black slimy Xenomorph towered over me. It had no eyes, but I knew it was looking right at me. For some reason, I noticed some silly magnets on the refrigerator right next to the creature. Trane Heating Co and China Express Take Out stuck out for some reason. I was held captive staring at the Xenomorph’s inner mouth slowly emerged and then quickly snapped at me.
I stirred in bed soaked in sweat in darkness. My clock radio read 0323. I realized that I had experienced dreams within a dream- or waking dreams. I was not late at all. Everything seemed so vivid and real that I had to sit a moment to convince myself that this was the case. My dog was lying at the foot of the bed sleeping away. I heard the coffee pot hissing. Yeah- it was just a coffee pot. Damn- it was only a Monday morning.

MemberRespectedOct-23-2019 9:36 AMIT IS I!!!! THE LAZIEST OF ALL FISH OF THE DINOSAURS AND GODZILLA FORUMS!!!!!
I've had these kinds of dreams before, but I forgot most of them. I remember two, though.
The first is one where I was LIVING the aquatic version of Jurassic Park builder, until we got Alan Jonahed by some military peeps (this was when I was a kid, so I don't remember too well). Also, the one creature we had (a JPB Kronosaurus) was pregnant with twins, it had 3 stars for its exhibit, and was pretty peaceful.
The other one, easily one of the best dreams of my life, was one where I got to play... a kind of mix between Sword Art Online, Godzilla 2015, and the different course system of Until Dawn. With the graphics from the cutscene when you open up Godzilla 2015. I was Godzilla and fought Ghidorah. WAS SO ****ING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
If people weren't lazy, we wouldn't try to be efficient. If we weren't efficient, we'd never get anything done.

MemberLegendOct-23-2019 10:38 PMTheLazyFish Thanks for sharing! As Godzilla, did you observe the dream in 1st or 3rd person or a combination? That sounds beautifully brutal!

Member2KOct-23-2019 11:07 PMOne recurring 'dream' I have--that invariably results in sleep-paralysis--is a general 'tone' where either the house is dark, I'm alone and The Big Chap (not some knock-off 'xenomorph' is stalking through the darkness and I'm trying to stay quiet and find a place to hide.
The other type of this 'dream' is where there are ALIENs, plural, and it's risky to go outside as they haunt around the manholes and stormdrains...waiting for someone to get too close. In those, I'm alone on a quiet street, at night, and again just trying to be careful and Quiet and avoid all the possible ambush points.
Of the two, the 'house' dreams are the WORST, they come about twice a year and yeah, Sleep Paralysis, but that's the ONLY thing and time that such occurs in my life, so I guess ALIEN made a really deep impression on me back-when.
However--I have NO complaints. :D
IN SPACE THERE IS NO WARNING

MemberLegendOct-23-2019 11:17 PMBlackwinter-witch Nice to see and hear you again! Sleep Paralysis is a bizarre experience- being aware but unable to move. It can be somewhat enjoyable and interesting but terrifying being in a different state of mind.

Combination. But I just have to reiterate how cool it all even LOOKED with the 2015 cut scene graphics, especially at night. Dear lord it was GLORIOUS

StaffRespectedOct-25-2019 9:31 AMI already wrote this somewhere else, but I'll write it here:
Basically, in my bizarre dream, I found myself inside one of the Engineer pyramids. After navigating through the dark corridors, I came across a large door, and when I got closer to it, I heard some noises coming from inside the room, so I opened the door. When the doors opened I had something to see. Inside the room were Engineers partying and dancing like they were drunk.
They were dancing like this
To this song, as far as I remember: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=137IHsk_nYc
They had large speakers in the room. As they danced and danced, I just stood at the entrance of the room confused. I then closed the doors. That's all I remember of that dream, I might have exaggerated some parts.

We tend to forget most dreams pretty fast and we later fill in the blanks to attempt making sense of them.
Cool Godzilla
Member2KOct-18-2022 11:33 PMThis topic might be dead, but I like this topic so I want to share something. My dream is about the new project that Chris was talking about, when I entered Scified, I saw colorful lights on all corners of my screen and a spam of comments. I saw this live person and was celebrating something, I later typed what is going on and Xenotaris said: " Chris made a live video about updating the entire Scified and hosting a celebration party online ". I later saw a lot of greetings from everybody and people that I didn't know like whgfgmefmH or badgodzilla dude. It was cool until I woke up and realized it was a dream.
