Skull Island's After Credits Scene May Have Disproved a Major Ghidorah Theory

A worrying theory for some was that in Godzilla 2, King Ghidorah might be remade to resemble more of a Smaug-like dragon--a quadruped wyvern. However, rewatching Kong: Skull Island I caught this front-on shot of King Ghidorah--and as visible there are no front arms, and he is clearly standing on two legs--as you can see his thighs in the lower left and right, and his tail down the bottom-middle.

I've got to say this is a pretty eerie design for Ghidorah, and awesome as-well. We're looking at a Hell of a fight in 2019.

Good grief.

I never noticed that before. Of course, I never doubted that King Ghidorah would be standing upright, but it's nice to be able to see evidence supporting that.

The King of the Monsters

The cave paintings were made before the monsters' final designs for King of the Monsters were finalized. They were only intended to be recognizable silhouettes. That being said, I doubt the finished designs would diverge too radically from the basic outlines of the cave paintings.

I never believed King Ghidorah would be given front limbs in addition to his wings regardless of what direction they went with. I'm more concerned that they'd make his front wings fold and have him walk around on four limbs instead of upright with his wings at his sides like he's supposed to. I'm worried they still might do that, but I'm leaning towards them giving him his traditional towering silhouette and not making him into three-headed Smaug. I wouldn't even care if his wings folded sometimes or if he leaned forward on them every once in a while, but I don't want to see wyvern Ghidorah. I want him standing on his hind limbs, towering over other kaiju and spreading his wings like a colossal cape at his sides.

I wouldn't bank too much on the cave paintings, im sure they will resemble somewhat to the final design. but that is pretty easy to do when you want these monsters to resemble there older versions.

I think Legendary are probably going to try to find the right balance between old and pteronodon/bat/quadruped wyvern esque.

Godzilla Generations was a beautiful game! I loved the fact that there's a laser cannon inside of Dr. Serizawa's eyepatch.

I don't know. "IF" they keep with this design, which I think is more classic, he would look really weird walking around on his wings.

Not to mention that his necks would have to angle upwards awkwardly from a quadrupedal position. By being bipedal as he usually has been, his necks are angled vertically and display his fearsome and imposing size MUCH better.

As much as I liked the old design of Ghidorah but Ghidorah's upright and long neck appearance made him looked kind of top heavy to balance himself(or themeselves?) in the ground.

Hello? Is anyone there? Also, what does it say? For me, the replies continue off the reply screen onto the background.
