Part 7: The True Final Battle

The fires of Maledictus Dominum ominously surrounded the battlefied, on all sides except that which faced the cliff. The flames still left room for the two rex to have their final duel. Tyrannos and Hurricane circled each other, each sizing up the other. Hurricane was forty-seven feet long and seventeen feet tall, and Tyrannos, now fully grown, was fifty-two feet long and eighteen feet tall. Despite being smaller, however, Hurricane was more experienced, and Tyrannos was already exhausted and injured. The two each unleashed world-shaking roars, before charging at one-another head-on. Their skulls collided, as they both butted heads, each attempting to push the other back.

Blood still dripped from Tyrannos's face, as he used his greater size to his full advantage, pushing his uncle back. However, he was not at full strength, due to his wounds, and did not push him very far. Hurricane clamped onto his nephew's jaw and shook it ferociously, forcing him to bellow aloud. Tyrannos crunched down on his uncle's upper jaw before slamming him into a rock, a few feet in-front of the wall of fire. Hurricane felt the heat of the flames, and quickly stumbled to his feet, before headbutting his nephew back. From there, he smashed his skull into Tyrannos's already demolished ribcage, releasing a scream of immense pain from his nephew.

The two beasts then locked jaws, twisting and turning using their powerful jaw and neck muscles. Blood coated their snouts, as Tyrannos, having a greater bite-force, pressed down harder, causing his uncle to release his grip and yelp in pain as he shook his head profusely. Hurricane then headbutted his nephew in the chest, releasing a wheeze from the larger rex as the impact knocked the wind from his body. Tyrannos's torso and right-leg ached tremendously, but he refused to give up, tanking a full-power bite to the neck from his uncle. Blood streamed down his mane, as Hurricane dragged him around, before smashing his skull into a log.

Tyrannos's vision blurred, but he shook his uncle off and bit onto the rex's shoulder, as Thunderstorm's brother hissed in pain, before clamping down on his snout. The son of the Lightning Rex was forced to let go, as he bellowed from the force of his uncle's bite. He swung his skull in the direction of Hurricane's upper-jaw, freeing himself free from the grip. Tyrannos flexed his sore muscles, before cracking his neck as he gazed into his uncle with pure rage in his eyes. The rex charged him, before opening his jaws and smashing them shut around Hurricane's throat. He raked the massive claws on his left-foot into the shin of his uncle, scraping the bone as he collapsed.

Hurricane threw his head to the right-side, sending Tyrannos stepping back as he let go. Thunderstorm's treacherous brother then kicked him in the right-flank, forcing him to gasp for air as he impaled his toe-claws into the flesh of his nephew. Tyrannos used his mass to push his uncle down, as he scraped his claws back--leaving a giant gash in his wake. Thunderstorm's son groaned in tremendous agony as his torso was completely devastated by his uncle. His uncle then bit down on his left-shin, twelve-inch teeth penetrating deep into his leg. The Vengeful Rex was barely able to stand, as both of his legs were completely devastated.

Mustering up some strength, he kicked his uncle off of him, launching teeth and blood into the air as he gasped for breath. Hurricane clamped onto his skull, leaving deep bite-marks in his nephew's face. Tyrannos could not even make any sounds, as his uncle shook him like a rag doll, before throwing him back. Fueled by his pure anger and unending rage, Tyrannos charged at Hurricane, although it put severe pain in his legs. With his large head, he destroyed the ribcage of his uncle, sending him tumbling to the ground, as he gripped his nephew by the lower-jaw, bringing him down as-well.

Hurricane, being less injured, was the first to rise to his feet, as he lifted up a rock in his jaws and used it like a battering-ram, crashing it into Tyrannos's right-side. Blood gushed from his body in all directions, covering his feathers and trickling to his stomach, as he rolled over and stood up. Hurricane smirked, as a thin but heavy tree crashed into his side, knocked over by the fire. His nephew released a gluttural moan of agony, as he limped towards his uncle, attempting to charge--but could barely limp.

Hurricane had all but succeeded, in using the Hypo Rex to injure and exhaust his nephew, and using his experience as a fighter to weaken him further. Tyrannos collapsed, before his uncle, lying in a pool of his own blood. Hurricane grinned with pleasure as he crunched down on Tyrannos's neck, with an increased bite-force of 18,000 pounds. Blood sprayed in all directions, coating the jaws of Hurricane and the throat of Tyrannos. His mane was no use against the sheer strength of his uncle, who bit down with as much pressure as he could exert.

Hurricane dragged Tyrannnos, who was too weak to even struggle, preparing to throw him over the edge of the cliff, and join his parents in death. Although Tyrannos's family would outnumber him, he could flee and live out the rest of his life, knowing that he had killed the son of Thunderstorm and Earthquake. The treacherous rex dragged his nephew to the edge of the cliff, cackling with glee. Tyrannos had long since given up on struggling, for he could not rip himself free of his uncle's grip of death.

Hurricane reached the edge of the cliff, as two figures appeared in Tyrannos's mind--his parents. Earthquake and Thunderstorm merely gazed into their son, before vanishing. Tyrannos released bellows of anguish and mourning, confusing his uncle as he let go; a fatal mistake. A change, overcame the son of Thunderstorm, as he raised one leg and smashed it into the ground, then the other. Nothing but burning hatred was in his eyes, as the fire illuminated his massive frame. Using his small arms to help him, Tyrannos rose to his feet, as Hurricane stumbled back in fear.

In a last-ditch effort to kill his nephew, Hurricane rammed him in the chest, forcing him to the cliff. Tyrannos's feet were on the edge of the cliff, as his tail thrashed over the edge. He hissed in anger, before using his larger body to shove Hurricane back. The son of the Lightning Rex was unstoppable in his fury, as he bit down on his lower-jaw, and broke it with-ease.

Tyrannos smashed Hurricane's skull with that of his own, dazing the beast. He then snapped his jaws shut around his uncle's right-leg, breaking it seemingly effortlessly underneath 21,000 pounds of pure force. He then closed his jaws around Hurricane's throat, swinging him around, into boulders, trees, and the ground. Hurricane was powerless against the Vengeful Rex, who had exceeded even his parents in power, and fallen short, only to the Dominums and the Tyrant Lord, who was currently fighting Maledictus for the final time. This made him the second-strongest of his species, only surpassed by Tyrance.

Tyrannos hurled Hurricane into a flaming tree, which collapsed on top of him, breaking every rib in his body. A massive branch had been impaled through his side, rupturing major internal organs. The fire spread to his torso, forcing him to scream in pain as he looked at his nephew with desperation. Tyrannos, not wanting to lose another of his family, gripped Hurricane by his snout, pulling him away as his torso was charred black, singing his feathers. He freed his uncle from beneath the tree--but he did not move, nor did he make a sound.

Hurricane's eyes were closed, and his jaws agape, as he lay lifeless on the ground. A branch was embedded inside his side, having been what ultimately killed him. Tyrannos stepped back, as his uncle was consumed in flames, burning his feathers and flesh. He could not watch, as he was filled with nothing but anguish. Hours passed, as the fires finally burned out. Tyrannos limped down the path, to the others.

DRACONUS - Oh, no! Poor Hurricane! I very much enjoyed this section of the story - even though it was a bit sad! :)
