Four days in Paradise

The Covenant crew is woken up and soon finds out that there is potentially suitable planet nearby.

The period before they reach the new planet at this point is under a couple of weeks. This sequence in which they make the decision to change course and flashbacks are not included in the four days in Paradise images below.

Day 1

Day 2

Day 3

Day 4

Awesome topic, Ingeniero, those days seemed some hours... :D

But what about the day 4 image? Is it a hidden message? A deleted final scene still? Is there a survivor on Planet 4?

Do we know how long the days are on paradise? I think i missed it

Is there an agenda the mods are not telling us about? ;)

Considering the light/time of day changes numerous times throughout the film, all the griping about "neomorphs developing in minutes," et cetera, is making a lot of ALIEN fans look rather daft. Thank you for making this post to elucidate things, Ingeniero; hopefully it will help stop all the pointless whining.

At any rate, I second Ati--what is the Day 4 image? I don't recall seeing it, and I've seen COVENANT three times (going for a fourth viewing at 7:45 tonight). Please let me know where to look!

Raido, we know that Planet 4 is small. Smaller than LV-426.

As for the image, it was an official one released months before the movie opening. It is not in the movie, that's why I asked Ingeni about it. Perhaps it is from a deleted scene from the end of the movie - showing Walter as a survivor. Fact: we do not know anything about Walter.

Ati, Interesting that Planet 4 should be smaller than LV-426. From the size of the Engineers and the massive trees on the mountain, it makes sense.

However, do we know its rotation period? I haven't been able to uncover much information on the usual sites, and it would be the defining factor for the number of days spent on Paradise. [Mars is smaller than Earth, but its sols are about 40 minutes longer than our days. Venus is of a similar size to (but still smaller than) Earth, but one of its days lasts for hundreds of ours--I think something like 220 Earth days or so]. From watching COVENANT, I figured the time span spent during the events of the film would be about equal to 2, 2.5 Earth days (typical for most films of the type). Thus my interest was piqued when Ingeniero presented a case for four days.

Ati, I have a feeling that Walter is still alive. His exact fate was left open, presumably for a reason. We know he's self-healing, and David has taught him a tune or two on that flute. With all David's notes at his disposal, and the entire Engineer planet for him to explore, Walter could theoretically learn how to pilot an Engineer craft--he's got David's flutes, after all, even if he isn't a creative fellow like his "brother"--and presumably go looking for the humans he's supposed to care for. I personally wouldn't mind seeing him pop up in the next film. Rather liked his character, far more than I thought I would.

Raido, yes, the fact that the movie does not reveal the end of their fight can mean that they have plans with the character. And this day 4 image has a version where we can see a male character in the corridor. Very enigmatic! :)

He can be Walter with his new hand! :D

It's here:

Ati and Raido, you are most welcome.

I truly believe Walter is still "alive" and waiting. We have not arrived at the "biomechanical xenomorph" yet.

Yes, the last image of the empty hallway is the most intriguing because we saw all the action in Alien: Covenant and this hallway shot is dated once everyone is supposedly back in space.

This is after David 8 takes control seamlessly with Mother with his access code. And I have no idea who the figure is, see below enhanced, reverse value.

Once they picked up Lope's body from the medical bay, I'm sure David 8 (acting as Walter) told Tennessee and Daniels he would clean up the blood and sanitize the room. Then the next image is the juggernaut hallway.

That is why I believe the image below is also December 8, 2104.

That's actually a great point BlackGooDrinker. I took for granted 24-hour days.
