Alien queen?

In the original Alien series, it is explained that there are Xenomorph/Alien queens laying eggs which are containing facehuggers, and then the facehuggers impregnating other species with the Xenomorph embryos.

However, in the new movie, the creation of the Xenomorph species is explained by David creating the facehugger eggs from Shaw's body, and there is no queen. (I also thought that the first chestbuster in the movie is going to be a queen, but thats just an ordinary Xeno)

So whats up with the queens? Because it looks like facehuggers/xenos can be created from humans, there's no need for those laying eggs.

Am I missing something, or is it a plothole? Please somebody explain this to me, because its driving me crazy...xD

There will never be any queens in Ridley Scott's Alien series.

I mean, I understand that queens werent visualized/made by Ridley Scott, but since its the same universe, I still dont get the thing... Queens are everywhere in the Alien universe (comics, movies etc.)

Alien 79 used egg-morphing - create the egg from human body. Queen is just mutation of xeno- species or another subspecies.

She is don't need for create eggs.

These are the xeons david makes, not the same ones from 246.Hence why there's no chestburster phase or other similarities to the ones we know.

Simple answer, the xenomorph mutated.

Another answer - David makes a Queen in the next movie.

I think the deacon from lv223 that burst from the engineer is the queen and will probably be introduced in the next film

Thanks, those are pretty good explanations. I think the David-one is pretty possible, with all those colonists on the ship.

I assumed he made a queen from Shaw's genetic material to gift her with the ability to reproduce in his own twisted way. The queen is featured in the movie poster, too, so Ridley has made her canon just by doing that. The two facehuggers at the end, I assumed, were to be a queen and a soldier xenomorph, which would be a perfect duo to propagate the species. Thats what i took from it anyways.

James cameron made the queen, Ridley scott had an entirely differant vision of how the aliens reproduce. That said out right James Cameron's Aliens pretty much created the Alien franchise as we know it, and so it will be a very bold move on Scotts part to ignore Cameron Lore. My take is that just like David did to his human creators, , his creations revolt and destroy him finding their own way to reproduce and the Queen is born,

Ridley will not have an Alien movie with a queen, at least not like we seen in Aliens, nor will he make the Aliens a hive creature in his films. The Alien queen in Camerons film only works once, look at all the other films that had one, they were essentially garbage. The queen worked once, she is the equivalent of a big boss in a video game, or Megatron who Optimus fights at the end in every Transformers movie, it looks cool but has no depth. I prefer subtext and mythology instead of the queen, leave that to the pseudo canon comic books if you must.

Although Aliens is amazing and fun movie, Cameron watered down the Alien lore by introducing the queen and making the alien creatures just a bunch of angry insects. It made them relatable and understood, and that which is understood is by definition far less terrifying. I love that movie, but i think the Alien film universe works better without some of its concepts. I prefer the alien creature to be caused by mutation, egg morphing and left undefinable and very alien, not some hive type creature.

I got a Theory:

The supposed "Xenomorph" we seen in Covenant was not actually a xenomorph at all, but a mutated creature that highly resembles one.

I will Explain this on another topic ;)

Obsession is a Power, not a Curse ;)
