Canon written works that explore further the ideas touched on in Prometheus and Covenant.

MemberOvomorphMay-15-2017 3:06 AMI have never read any of the Novelisations or comics, or any written source for that matter on any of the 'Alien' franchise.
I have been put off starting right from the beginning with the Novelisation of the first 'Alien' movie because (I have heard) in the book Ash claims that the Xenomorph is indigenous to LV-426 and the Engineers stumbled upon them while exploring, but the movies take the route that the Space jockey has the Eggs on board its ship and puts down on LV-426 due to trouble on board which resulted in the creature bursting from its chest.
I am reluctant to read all the Novelisations of the Alien films for fear that there are loads more vast differences, leaving me scratching my head. Don't get me wrong I love reading further and deeper and want to read the material but conflicting information is a bit frustrating when it comes to seeking a strictly canon storyline.
What I would like to do is read more on the topics touched on in Prometheus and Covenant that are considered Canon. I want to explore more on the Engineers, and the humanoids that look a bit similar to them on the "paradise" planet etc. as I'm not sure Scott will follow the path he once thought to set out on and the next film, like Covenant, may lean more toward pleasing those who want to see more of the Xeno like creatures and such.
I hope the fans convince him to return to the ideas he had in regards to what he was touching on in Prometheus but in the meantime, I would love to read what there is on this topic.
What written Canon sources are best to seek out on this topic?.
Any help would be appreciated.

MemberOvomorphMay-15-2017 7:49 PMThanks @Tiwaz. That is helpful.
I understand the movies are the top of the tree in a Canon sense but I simply love to read deeper into topics so I have pre ordered the Covenant Novelisation which I think will be absolutely brilliant as I've read good things in that regard.
I have purchased Prometheus: Fire and Stone too so that should keep me going.
What I am perplexed, and more than a little annoyed about, is that there is not a readily available English language Prometheus Novelisation. I'm quite baffled. I can only see a Japanese release.
Surely there is a way I can read this in English?.

MemberChestbursterMay-15-2017 8:07 PMUhm... That's a good one... I think i heard or read that it will come soon-ish? I might be totally wrong though.
Don't expect too much insight of the Engineers from the comics though.
