This will be  a Short Post by me ;)

I just want to see if there is any unused concepts and ideas that was never used in the Franchise before, these can be from Drafts, Concept work and even Deleted Scenes.

Mainly Focus on the Alien Franchise movies... Alien to Alien Resurrection and Prometheus but also can include stuff from any of the Drafts for such movies which we can also include Star Beast.

Is there anything that was not used that you would love to see in Alien Covenant and Sequels or things you think would be shown in the next few movies?

A Example or TWO...

It seems the Spores have been taken from a Alien 3 unused draft.

And the Egg Morph is not 100% Canon as far as Theatrical Release, would that be something to be explored?

So please feel free to suggest what unused ideas and concepts (includes Creature Designs) you THINK or would LIKE to see explored in the next Movie or certainly by the time Ridley Completes his Alien PREQUELS

PS can even discus any comments made by those who worked on past movies, such as Ridley Scott as far as comments relating to plans or past events that was never shown on screen. Or that have been changed.

I love the idea of egg morphing and although i enjoy Cameron's queen concept on film i prefer the egg morphing idea. The queen is a akin to the big boss you have to fight in a video game, its all very surface level, its mean and it looks cool. While the egg morphing is much deeper than just how it looks...imagine the elements at play, the horror and how ghastly that would be to come to terms with if it happened to you or a loved one, it spins the imagination and mind about. The mere idea is ghastly, and dark, dreadful and cruel and a host of a billion other adjectives. The egg morphing idea is more in line with the Alien being very "alien" and it keeps it a perfect organism, it needs no colony, no population no queen to reproduce all it needs is a couple victims and it can quickly take over and reproduce. The egg morphing retains the elegance of the original Alien and the concept that is something unimaginable, a veritable nightmare...As i mentioned i love Aliens and i like the queen on screen but i think the egg morphing concept retains some of that ancient cosmic horror, something unspeakable unimaginably hideous, it is a pefect organism because it doesnt need a queen. The queen by definition reduces the xenomorph to a simple dangerous animal and quite really a dangerous large insect. ...i much prefer the perfect organism who needs nothing but victims to perpetuate itself, egg morphing strengthens the idea that it is a perfect elegant organism and is something beyond comprehension. Knowing that you are trapped or a loved on is trapped and mutating into one of those things is a nightmare and thats how i view this film universe when its done in the best way ...a frantic fever dream from which there is no escape...give us egg morphing Ridley !!! Gracias!

My wish is to see what a juggernaut can do to contribute to the definition of hostility.

I totally agree.

Necronom IV... The Deacon allways reminded me of those sad, allover white clowns, with pointy hats...

Cocooned Burke on Ripley's route to Newt, in Aliens.

And the ancient pyramid, in Alien.

A little bit off, but I am a fan of the paintings and style created by Peter Andrew Jones. I love his worlds so much! I would like to see something similar in an Alien movie:

Easily Vincent Ward's initial Wooden Planet concept for Alien 3.

Just as original idea as the first Alien film.

Religious fanatics who despise most technology used by civilization, decide to leave earth in a giant wooden/metal space station/planet thing that also acts as a giant cathedral.

Hm. One thing I'd like to see is eggmorphing (and apparently I'm not the only one). I read ADF's novelization of ALIEN before I saw ALIENS (I saw the first film when I was 8--looking back, way too young but ah well) and the second film when I was a tween, and in between I managed to sneak the old copy of Foster's book and read it. (I had to sneak a read since my mom thought it was too graphic for me--I think I read it when I was ten). It mentions the eggmorphing scene, and I found the idea particularly horrific. Thus when I saw ALIENS, I found the queen to be a bit of a let-down. Too safe an idea, as it were. I liked the movie otherwise, but the lack of eggmorphing was a bummer.

Since the black goo in Prometheus introduces a means of mutating existing life-forms into new forms, perhaps it, or a modification of it (via David? the Engineers?) can cause eggmorphing. Or, since the aliens are likely a product--at least in part--of the black goo, perhaps they retain some of its the ability to cause such a radical mutation--in the form of eggmorphing. A venom of some sort, perhaps. Certainly an unpleasant experience for whoever is being morphed.

On a side note, this black goo connection would also help explain how they acquire characteristics from their hosts and environments. Kane's Son is very male (which if one takes into consideration H.R. Giger's concept sketches was quite unfortunate for Lambert!), whereas Shaw's "baby" is quite female (the Last Engineer got an eyeful of that!). Even the trilobite's own resultant "offspring," the deacon, looks rather delicate and androgynous...

Just some musings. Great topic!

Is or because you find the idea unrealistic and silly, or actually scary?

Grinning & Dropping Linen

MemberFacehuggerMar-15-2017 6:02 AM

@Neomorph its because eggmorphing is ghastly and horrific, the idea of being unwillingly mutated against your will to some unimaginable terror....or finding a loved one that is being egg morphed....or dying at the hands of something that use to be a loved one and discovering this right before you die, its haunting and would be awesome on screen just a few last moments with a character who the film aknowledges they are trying to understand and come to grips with what has happened to them and their loved one, like i said a frantic fever dream from which there is no escape...egg morphing would be amazing on screen...it leaves a lasting impression

Neo... I think it's unrealistic, because of the concept of a wooden planet/craft. Where would you get all that wood to build a planet? Why wood? What about Gravitation, etcetera... I allso think it would wander of a little too much from the original concept and thoughts in the franchise. Bold thoughts, though.

Totally on board with the egg morphing.  Don't get me wrong, I enjoy large bottom females as much as the next person - but the egg morphing is just way more horrific to me than the queen concept...

I am not quite sure why, but I find it deeply unsettling.

@ Nycro

Totally agree the idea stays with you, it is deeply unsettling and its a haunting concept

grinning, I agree totally about the eggmorphing. its my preference to the queen though I like the queen. egg morphing is more alien and terrifying. some think that younger viewers will only relate to the queen so that's what wel see. total BS. ridley wanted egg morphing. they even shot it. they only didtched it because it slowed the pace of the movie at that stage. the fact the black goo uses morphing properties suggests to me morphing is the way ridley is gna go. plus egg orphing wasn't even a concept when the directors cut came out and id say most prefer it so to say hel go with a queen to satisfy younger viewers is crap. I believe the eggs cudrup is exposed to is morphed engineers as their much larger than the eggs wer used to. maybe david has found that it is only genetic material that is required and the subject doesn't have to be alive to be morphed into an egg.

I would love to also see a decent backstory on the engineers, their relationship to the goo and xeno and those higher up, maybe even get an interstellar battle scene between warring factions

Something like the Xeno Fifield would be cool, they could keep it in mind but build on it to get something else and reminiscent. Keep the Zombies for Zombie movies.

A bit of egg morphing could be interesting if something like it goes on in nature on earth. It seems to me that it is better suited for a horror movie because it takes longer for the victim to die compared to being chest busted or being shot.

Correct me if I am mistaken but wasn’t there supposed to be a pyramid in Alien? Maybe they could make something based on that idea? Perhaps they would have to walk through a pyramid before getting to David’s place eventually there could be death traps there but then maybe people would complain that it would be too close to AvP.

Speaking of stupid scenes there was a deleted scene when either Milburn or Fifield discovered a small alien worm that was why they didn’t get scared of the snake. They found the worm and it went fine so they probably thought that they could handle the Hammerpede too, silly but it made a bit more sense to the Hammerpede scene. If there will be some dumb scenes in AC then they should be explained even if it is just by a small line that they say before things go wrong because it makes them look less retarded. I put this in Italic letters because I think that this is very important and something that I hope that they have learned from Prometheus.

Getting lost despite being the map expert, they forgot the map reader. Scenes like this should be explained. In the script its says that they got lost because they forgot the map reader but we didn’t get that in the movie which made them look like idiots. This is another example when they need to explain strange things that happen or else they will make the characters stupid.

Paradise (the green planet) seems to have something in common with the wooden planet that was made as an idea for Alien 3, which I think is cool. Is it just me that see this connection or am I mistaken about this?

Not many would say this so I say it: it would be nice with some bizarre/morbid comedy if it fits the movie as a whole. Just let it be one scene or two. There has got to be some balance in a movie. Comedy hasn’t got to be silly, it can be smart also but it depends on timing and the context.

Having some background on important characters would be nice if it would be necessary for understanding their character. I find Prometheus lacking this kind of thing because it would have helped us to understand why the characters did what they did.

I read a script by Ward and Asano in Alien 3, there was a whole bathroom filled with crap and blood (page 41). This is so disgusting so it could probably be a part of AC. What if the Xeno bursts out of the stomach and there will be crap and blood all around it.

Eventually they had a library in Alien 3 (one of the scripts) that would be nice. I like libraries.

There was something about scarabs in Spaights script. Maybe they could have some good infected bugs that bite people with nasty results?

What if someone survives an alien and that has got to go through some surgery more painful than Shaw’s? That could work and who isn’t getting worried by the thought of surgery?

On Iceland, there are hot Geysers with hot water, maybe this and some lave thing could be used for whatever.

These are some ideas that I have, I hope that the reply fits the purpose of the post.

I'd  like to see the unused concepts of an Alien temple with eggs from the original Alien movie.

Old McDonalds' egg farm producing a Grade AAA batch of terror type of thing...

Parkerparrot I know you're probably right because that's exactly the main issue with that concept, it's so illogical, crazy and different from the previous films (probably why FOX said no in the end even though they initially thought it was a cool plan)

The main challenge imo is to make the station thingy idea at least moderately realistic (just enough for the majority of us to accept it) - tweak bits here and there if you will.

What I really like though, apart from all that, is the sheer originality. It's something bold and twisted just like Giger's biomechanoid visions, but then comes the second barrier like you pointed out, which is the divergence of the common denominators of the series it would abandon; W-Y, explorers, marines etc. With that in mind the current Alien 3 was probably the best way to go.

With that said I would definitely like to see an "expanded universe film" or a very ambitious comic book shaped like a "religious" hardback.

not using the wooden planet concept is one of the reasons fincher hates alien3. he wanted to do that script for its originality and the challenges it brought. I love the script. its one of the best unproduced alien3 scripts. have u read the one, cant remember by whom, but its about the marines who go onboard the life boat and r attacked, only for one marine to wake up in hospital, half his body has been rebuilt? its a good script but goes off a bit at the end but I believe that's the script most others got the notion for a planet to become infected and come alive. ok it is set on a huge station but the concept is similar

Ali81, no but that sounds wicked. I've only read parts of Vincent Ward's unreleased graphic novel with Ripley crashing onto the "surface" of the wooden planet and tries to warn the cultists about the xenomorph threat. Nobody believed her as they merely thought it was a myth, until the "dragon/demon" appears (from a facehugger that was inside Ripley's escape pod I think) and start to slaughter the monks.

MemberNeomorphMar-15-2017 9:40 AM

yea and the monks blame her. brilliant read. tbh they all are. theres another on a prison barge in space which is really good aswell
