Why the original Alien was Bio-mechanical

That's a good theory.It could explain the big difference between the big chap and the Hadley's Hope variants .

This theory has been around for a long time.  And until the advent of Prometheus, had a good deal of merit.  Bit hard to make it work these days though, considering Engineer and human DNA are the same.

You cant reasonably say the DNA is the same, cause "NEWS-FLASH" they have the same base elements, but structured differently and in different amounts. Should be pretty easy to understand considering that just as with our DNA, we're all human, but only one of us can be placed at a crime scene using forensics. Needless to say that humans and monkeys are are 99% identical, but that 1% covers a lot of ground. I don't think people quite grasp the concept of how the DNA is factored into the xenomorph, and have let canon lead them down the road to the beaver-alien that has large front teeth and builds dams with its flattened tail you know?

Im new to the forum posting of ideas and communities so im not familiar with all the theories, but I do like to arrive at a conclusion based on simplicity and logic without having to shoe-horn it in where it wont fit. In this case id say the DNA structure or number of pairs albeit the same basic ingredients is capable of explaining the difference.   

Prometheus shows us that our DNA matches the Engineers.  We come from them.

good chance we'll be finding out how this happens in Covenant. Doesn't seem like the bio-mech is restricted to the creatures from Alien and so-on

You have got me thinking good sir. By that theory then the Queen from Aliens should have been Biomechanical, as the facehugger that implanted Newts father was of the same egg brood from aboard the derelict.

Unless.. A Queen somehow negates any previous genetics carried over from her predecessor and uses solely the DNA of whatever her host was in order to match the current environment.

We also presume the first alien "born" in Aliens was in fact a Queen, it may not have been. One or several Biomech aliens were likely created by stupid colonists and then established a hive along with a new Queen (human born), and we never get to see them. (Killed by colonists or members of the new brood)

It seems that a drone is often produced first to access the situation, recon for a hive location, gather several hosts and then either eggmorph a Queen egg or become a Praetorian itself and then molt into a Queen. Why produce a Queen when there are not enough resources available.  Also have got myself wondering if the xenos in Aliens were aware of the derelict ship and fetched eggs or started from scratch. (I think the latter) I really hope we get to see the biomech bigchap in a translucent form this time around...

That the Hadleys Hope Eggs are laid by a Queen either came from one of those Eggs or Process from a Drone from one of those Eggs on the Derelict and so its Eggs lose a bit of the Mechanical Elements that a direct Face Hugger from the Derelict Cargo would have...

The Engineers have same DNA... but their Bio-Tech as far as suits seems to be a Technology where there Suits are fused to their Bodies.... and maybe this is how the Original Derelict Eggs  Xenos got the Bio-Mechanics?

But i think the connection runs deeper than that, right now i still think the Derelict Ship and Xenomorph have the biggest CONNECTION to each other.  Thats how it seemed.

I agree...those eggs where maybe grown from that ship and carried some of its mechanical traits?

I think it depends where they go with this..

I like HR Gigers vision.... where the Ship is Grown and its living and the Egg Silo actually has Pregnant Bellies on the Walls that produce the Eggs

Gigers Mural for  Alien seems to indicate the Derelict and Xeno share same DNA, and appears the ship produces a Worm like Tadpole that evolves to the Eggs that Humanoids in Space Suits use to infect each other.

Those beings are Humanoid and Bald, so we can see where inspiration for the Engineers and Space Jockey came from.

Maybe in hindsight the route they took in Prometheus they backed themselves into a corner..

However as i proposed if they try and tone it down by going a more Annunaki Route... where the digging for Gold us replaced by some more Horrific Task the Igigi (Engineers) was created for... and then the Rebellion of these Igigi led to Mankind being created to take over as far as this task...

Then going this route i think would work... its what the Sources comments seem to be pointing to..

If this Task the mining for Gold is related to Sacrifices either to create Xenos.... or obtain the Goo... then it think it would be a ideal route to take.

Its also a better way to answer the questions Shaw had, without going the whole God route and what does a group of Engineers encountered do next.

Nope... David finding a extinct culture but then finding clues, as he explores it first and when adds this to what he already knows... he then tells Shaw although Paradise has no Engineers too... he knows what the purpose was..

And why Mankind was created.. when Shaw says tell me.. show me.... like Holloway with how he said he would do anything and everything.... Shaw asking David why we was created..  could then allow David to show her...

Which involve Black Goo or Xeno Agenda as far as the whole purpose for it...

@ Dirtymeat,  No because im suggesting the Alien Queen's host was the primary factor in the genetic passdown of the bio-mechanical traits. So the Alien from the original film is the result of a Queen that came out of the space jockey and then laid the eggs and died, Then the facehugger that got Newts dad resulted in a Queen to begin the process again. That Queen would come from Newts dad, thus its eggs would lack the bio-Mech element. Basically its a theory that depends on 1. Jockey hosting a Queen, and 2. Newts dad hosting a Queen, see what im saying? 

@ Big Dave, id love the attempt to directly translate Gigers work which was his expression of society being assimilated into the new industrial age and its militaristic and authoritarian interpretation of power among other things. However it doesn't fit at all within the boundaries of a film for terror and suspense. A stand alone film would be amazing with its freedom to discover a world where ships were given birth to, and the entire world was constantly having sex with itself for innovation.

Re: David, I agree 100% My theory for David is that he has become the actual tool used when people mention mankind wiping itself out before its journey is even started. Shaw says to David what will you do now that Weyland is dead, with no direct authority etc. (I'm para-phrasing ofc)  But david says he's now free. (Free with the knowledge that intellectually he is superior to humans, and may complete the task of designing the perfect Xeno-morph to become unstoppable for humans.

Re: the Black goo, im pretty positive the goal isn't to kill humanity with the goo, but to dump it into the water or ocean and mutate everything on earth into fifields, which get "frisky" and need to reproduce thus women giving birth to various beasts. Technically shaw had the black goo inside her via Holloways "goo" and it only  resulted in a birth with no side effects that we know of. That's why I don't think killing humans was the goal of the engineers hauling the BGoo, they intended to change us (men) into mutants who would impregnate women who would end up bearing the fruits the engineers were looking to harvest maybe. But im firm in my belief that David is well beyond the point of no return and is 100% bad news for the crew of the Covenant. I figure he will end up being destroyed by the updated version of himself as his critical flaws that enable him to take the actions he has were discovered during the Yutani merger of 2099.
