Reports are: Prometheus 2, 3 & even 4 are coming over the next 5-to-10 years...

Wonder if he plans on filming them all in one shot, like Cameron and Avatar? Release them over time....

Shoot as many scenes as he can, build the sets *once* and get all the material for 2 or 3 movies...but that would mean having the script for Prometheus 3 already. Hmm 

I also read that news and I'm kind of skeptical. It would be great to see three more sequels but first of all, Scott has to film Prometheus 2 first... We waited three years and then suddenly he talks in an interview about three more?? I'm asking myself if he would direct them all... Hasn't he already other projects? Like 'The Cartel', 'The Forver War' ... It would be wonderful if he would split part 3 into two films and film them at once.. but who knows? For example like The Hunger Games or Harry Potter.. He never talked about making more than two films.. 

hmmm Ridley 79 when part 2 comes out maybe then 84 for 3 89 for 4 hmmm...

Ridley should make a road map of what he desires the Prometheus movies to be, so he can be confident they will be made in his vision while other directors(NOT james Cameron! lol) can pick up the torch. He can oversee the later movies from his retirement home.

I don't think he wants to lose creative control...like he did with Alien.

I was hoping that was what he was going to do from the start like 30 years ago ish  but it seems like he had a few ideas and never really beat it out and is making it up as he goes as such and unfortunatly we ended up with not so much of a believable world and really unbelievable characters even if the overall idea is such a great one :( ...

Ridley had said all along that the Prometheus Saga had been aimed at more than one movie.... and he even said when he and Lindeloff sat down they had rough ideas for the Franchise to span at least 3 movies...

His comments the other week about how they would adress why these Engineers had such Evil Biology in regards to the Xeno and stuff they was doing on LV 223, he said they would answer.. well begin in part to answer this in the 2nd movie which to me shows they could plan 3 movies...

Then we need to look at the scope of the Franchise.... this is not a case of some Godlike Engineers creating Mankind on Earth and then having some beef with us and creating horrid Bio Weapons that backfired only for Weyland Company to try and get its hands on them and fail within the Alien Franchise...

This is bigger than Earth and a 40 LY Radius it could well be bigger and deeper than even the boundaries of our Galaxy....

The way i read into this is that they intend to flesh out our Engineers Agenda and Story in the next movie, will leave us to explore their orgins more... at the end of this movie i think we shall see strands of DNA and a event that links to Alien DNA maybe at the hands of David.....  this set up a 3rd movie that would explore i think the Engineers Bio Weapons in more depth and maybe also The Engineers Creators... who knows.

I think LV 223 is something that would need to be answered as far as what becomes of it by the time of Alien... this is a door that definately needs clossing.....

As for the Space Jockey.... Ridley i think never intends to tell that tale, but leave clues to connection between the Xeno that we see in Alien and our Engineers.....

His comment about maybe a 4th movie.... shows me he hopes to cover most connections by then.....

But there could be a 4th movie that would prehapse cover those basis more.... so as to leave little Mystrey over the Xeno Orgins and how the Space Jockey or Similar Crafts had Eggs on board them....

I have said all along and for a long while now.....

Ridley is old.... at his age you need take every day as it comes, you cant Garuntee you would live until 80, 90, 100.... and especially be able to have a active input into doing movies at the latter ages....

Alien was his Baby.... Blade Runner aswell..... Two movies that Ridley held dearly..... one movie he has a massive input into how it would evolve that being Blade Runner 2....   The other movie Alien... he lost creative control so to speak... the way the Alien Franchise Evolved and Expanded was not greatly influenced by him... it is what it is unless they ROOBOOT the Franchise...

But with Alien there was Two Questions that was never ever Answered..... not in any other movie!

1) Where did the Xeno first come from, and why was the Space Jockey carrying them on that ship?

2) Who was the Space Jockey? What was his Race his Purpose there Agenda and Story?

Prometheus was set to answer this in a more direct way, but Spaights had helped flesh out the Space Jockey as some Ancient Godlike beings who created Mankind..... this idea was a massive very BOLD idea and one they decided should be explored more..... and tone down Xeno and Alien connection...

This led to a Movie that had some flaws, that left some Questions and never answered some in the first place.... they wish to Futher expand on our Engineers, and who they are what purpose they serve.... they may even have changed ideas about the Engineers Role since finishing the First Movie... indeed this looks a certain... so they wished to futher expand this and explore and the idea of the Engineers being Galactic Genetic Gardeners who now serve under a greater Purpose and Higher Bieng or Biengs is one with massive Scope.... which is what they are aiming for.

But there is still that burning Question that wont go away.... The Xeno.. how, when and why.... and i think this is something that Ridley will have to ANSWER if he does not... or if he has not left enough Clues to lead most of us down a Certain Path towards a Certain set of Answers......

Then when Ridley is gone, or too old to have input.... someone else can come along and give a IN YOUR FACE.. SPOON FED ANSWER FOR THE XENO AND SPACE JOCKEY....!  In which case Ridley may have little input on this..

So i think he would want to Rubber Stamp and Answer these in the way and ideas that he has for them.... yes he would like to retain some Mystery but he would rather give more Answers in a way he wants.. than leave the Door open for someone else to then Explain the Xeno Orgins and Space Jockey in a way that quite frankly would make Ridley Turn in his Grave...

So yes all these things do add up to that Ridley will have a major input in these things and at his age... i would say they would want to at least get the NEXT TWO Movies  released within a short space of time.... i.e next 5 years for sure i would say...

  Spoon feeding?  Feed Me Feed ME ! It seems like a long way off.... but Ridley is still in the chair on the derelict before and after Alien.  I don't doubt he has a lot of material to work with thanks a lot Alien Fans and Prometheus bloggers! (like as if their listening to us) What were we talking about, I forgot!  oh ya I'm not sure I want all the answers but like the original Alien a few brief scenes of the horrorible nightmare....beyond all understanding

It has to be solely Ridley's gig this time, even if at some point another director takes over, Ridley will still be the flying the starship!

I think Ridley has the ideas of all the connections and over the last fews years and indeed next few i think he would have a Blue Print to how he wants these Engineers, their Creators, The Xeno and its Orgins and how it all connected together and Alien... i am sure Ridley would have these ideas thrashed out so that if he is ever Gone (and lets hope not) then who ever takes over (this assumes the ideas are not actually all done in complete Drafts)  then they have the guide lines to what Ridley wants to explain for the Orgins and Connections.
