Should I Just Stop?

I'm not sure. My series, Godzilla: The Monster War did pretty bad, than okay, and now near the end of the series it barely gets any views. I'm probably not gonna write World War G, the sequel to G:TMW.

Hey, i run into that problem all the time. I think the issue isn't people not necessarily looking all the time.

Okay, well that is part of the issue, but not all of it. Often times, folks just don't want to comment, and real life takes its toll on who can and can't read. I have an ever-expanding narrative filled with action, mystery, and intrigue, and yet hardly anyone ever speaks about it.

Really, it's none of our faults, and I don't think any of us should stop doing what we're doing. It's the lack of active people in this community in general.

I say we all keep writing, we all keep posting, simply out of our love for the inspiration behind us all: Godzilla.

     Thank you so much, GMAN! That was actually really inspiring, and I now feel confident in continuing my story! I just hope that people are actually reading it.

Just remember that, for me anyways, writing for yourself is always the top priority for any kind of literature

I know how you feel, what I tried doing recently is PM-ing people, I also believe SciFied should have a system where you can see if the topic has been viewed, not necessarily commented on, but if someone has seen it, that way you know if your fan-fic is being read.

You know guys, I've seen a lot of self-advertisement and threads asking others if their work is any good, or if they should keep posting, or begging people to look at their work, etc. My question to you all is why are you working so hard to gain the attention of the few here on Scified? There are countless other sites you can post fan fiction and artwork and there's other Godzilla sites which allow you to do the same:

Advertise it on Twitter, Deviantart, Instagram, whatever other social network you have. Being disappointed with a turnout on a dwindling community forum doesn't exactly say much. And spending so much energy on getting that dwindling community to read/comment this stuff is probably not best use of time. But if you think otherwise, might I recommend creating a Scified Blog? Getting yourself a little more exposure from there?

I would also like to add that I do read all of your stuff, it's just I really don't have the energy to comment on every piece or part you post. But as Gman said (both of them) do it not for the reviews or the comments, but for your love for Godzilla, and if you really want to be recognized for it, then there might be better places than here to post it.

Thanks for the support, guys! I guess I just had some wierd thoughts about how this was going to go down. As for GMAN and NBG's quotes, I really have no where to go. Sadly, this is the most social I've ever been on a website, and I really don't know how to improve on that sociability or apply it elsewhere. But seriously, thanks for the advice and support!

If I decide to before the next time I do this, I may just do this elsewhere, too. (This is a different comment because it wouldn't let me edit the last one, so that's why there are 2 consecutive comments by me. You probably didn't need to know that though. You probably don't even care about that...)

I never really understood this. I seems like in the small community that's on this site a decent percentage of them write fanfiction. They also advertise chapters and updates for comments, but don't seem to comment on eachother's work. There are at least 3 people on this site that write most of the fanfiction if you want critiquing and discussion why not do it with the people who are the most active in writing themselves? This is a small community there are only a few active members and I think it's safe to say most aren't interested in the fanfictions so I'd agreee with Gman2887 and try posting the stories elsewhere if you'd like them to be read and commented on. If you just enjoy writing them and are happy with the 2 or 3 readers and rare comment then this forum is fine, but for about another year or 2 this probably won't be the forum to use if you want attention.

Like Gman said, the best way to get attention is to post your stories on a site and advertize it over Twitter and other social media. People are more receptive to sites and enjoy reading them there, regular posts get buried here and it's difficult to follow them all. :)

Don't quit for any reason, Gman2887 has convinced me over the novel i did and i have created my own scified site and have gone on to twitter and started spamming the hell out of the godzilla 1954 fan made graphic novel that i did.

Twitter and facebook are your best bets, this is just a community. Plus twitter, you can get re-tweeted by alot of members there.
