As the sea breeze intensifies, the open ocean, just miles off the coast of Bikini Atoll, begins to churn violently. Waves stronger than whirlpools and tsunamis start folding over one another as the inhabitants of the reef fear for their lives. Many are caught in the churning, and die horribly. Entire ecosystems are ravaged and destroyed as the waves move on.

This isn't the first time that this bizarre anomaly has been witnessed. These waves have been seen all across the Pacific throughout the year of 1954. No sign of what the cause is has even been theorized by even the greatest of marinebioligists and conspiracy theorists. The cause could not be found, but if it was not discovered and cured, not only will the wildlife perish, but also the voyaging trade ships. Various ships along the Pacific have gone missing in the same basic area of effect that these waves have appeared. They seem to have sunk to the ocean floor, along with their crew, and hopefully clues as to its fate as well. However, various research expeditions have proven this likely solution false. Only fragments of the vessels remained on the floor. Unfortunately, these trails lead to nowhere.

Finally, after another 3 months, another 170 casualties, someone spoke up. Somebody saw the cause. The man was sought out by men all over the nation trying to figure out what happened to these ships. What he said, to just one of those men, a certain man who worked for the Navy, changed the priorities of the military for the next 60 years.

Five soldiers lowered a bomb on a tower somewhere in Bikini Atoll; a 17 megaton nuclear bomb that could destroy the entire archipelago. The power that these men of the military held in the power of their hands would bring destruction with it. People would die, and people have already died.

"Are we fully prepared?" ,asks the commander of the operation. "Almost! We still have another 5 hours to finish, according to headquarters!" "Well hurry up anyways! I want to make sure that we have enough time to evacuate the inhabitants!"

The people who lived here would never see their homes again. They built them from scratch, and worked so hard to get where they were before the evacuation. Sadly, there was no choice. The place had been evacuated 2 hours prior to avoid desolation of the people. However, the entire land would be desolated by this bomb, and just several decades later, by something far worse.

Far off, the headquarters views from afar in a battleship, about 5 miles off the coast. The man in charge looks through the telescope and sees that everything is almost complete. Thankfully so. As the last survivors are taken off the archipelago, the water recedes back into the ocean. Only five more minutes.

All of the inhabitants begin to weep. Everything they have worked for, strived for, will soon be gone. Little do they know that this is more than just for fun. They don't know what's coming. Suddenly something huge enters the ship's radar. Four more minutes.

The crew on the main ship walks out onto the deck, where 30 rows of chairs are facing forward. Everyone begins to put on protective goggles. The boards and diagrams on the main table in the captain's room are left behind. There is no more time to prepare. This is the only way. Three more minutes.

As everyone prepares for something big to appear, they begin to see gigantic mountains rise out of the water, almost kissing the clouds with their sharp, pointed ends. They extend for roughly 750 feet, 3 times longer than the ship itself. The inhabitants begin to quiet down, and simply stare at the rock-like formations as the water they bring consumes the island. Everyone just hopes for the better. Two more minutes.

As the last two minutes pass by, Ermenheimer's famous speech plays over and over in their heads, reminding them of their decision. "We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent. I remember the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita; Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty, and, to impress him, takes on his multi-armed form, and says...", suddenly a rumble, like that of a whale, resonates from the huge spikes. "'Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.'" One more minute.

On board, everyone starts looking at the island, bracing for what's to come. The countdown initiates, and the spikes begin to rise. A huge, rough torso moves upward out of the water, although still mostly concealed by ocean. The tsunami washes over the island, but doesn't knock over the bomb's pedestal. "Five. Four. Three. Two. One." It suddenly goes white, and a mushroom of a cloud reaches up to the heavens. "They did it. It's gone."
