Love it or hate it, Ghidorah has been confirmed along with Rodan and Mothra. We know that already. At least most of us do. But that's neither here nor there.

My big question is: How will Legendary change Ghidorah?

Will he be an alien? If so, from where? Is he still from this galaxy or another one? Will he arrive in the meteor like in the old Toho film or will his method of transportation be left up to our imagination? If it's the meteor, how did he get inside? Is it an egg, a capsule, a chamber of some kind?

((He was never given a difinitive origin in the Showa era beyond "Here's a badass space monster! Love him!"))

If he's not an alien, how did he hide here on Earth? (After all a giant, golden, three headed dragon that flies around is kind of hard to miss) If he's an alien, will it affect his attacks and appearance versus whether or not he's from Earth? Will he retain all of his most prominent features like no arms and three heads? Will his gravity beams look relatively the same or will they have to be redesigned? (Let's face it. As cool as it looked, a dragon breathing lightning is not realistic by any stretch of the imagination) Will he have other attacks to use such as a current from his wings, or maybe through his bite? Will he actually be strong enough to cause Godzilla to bleed for once? (He only once drew blood from Godzilla during the Toho franchise in GMK when he gave Godzilla that tiny scratch on the neck, and that was it)

Will Ghidorah's height remain much larger than Godzilla's to make him more menacing or will they keep his size relatively modest? (After all, a 140-150 meter tall three headed dragon is a bit much even for this franchise) Will Ghidorah retain the overlapping scale look or will his skin look more solid like Godizlla's? If Ghidorah changes his appearance (let's say loses a head or grows arms), how will it change his ability to fight with Godzilla? If Ghidorah remains relatively the same shape as in his Toho incarnation, how will they explain his ability to fly? He's not aerodynamic and his flapping wings would not be enough to lift that megaton bodyweight of his. The laws of physics can only be stretched so far after all. Will his gravity beams actually have something to do with gravity or will it remain nothing but a name?

There are a lot more questions we could ask about Ghidorah and how he will change for this franchise, but I'll leave it at that for now. I don't want to overwhelm everybody with ten million questions cause discussing them and debating them would take FOREVER!!... Even though we have a few years to do so... Oh well!

What do you think?

I'm thinking that a nice way to tie it in with Godzilla's survival of the Permian extinction to be that he was in the meteorite that caused the greatest extinction in all recorded history (depending on your beliefs). Or, at the very least, evolved because of the Permian extinction... Something like that.

I find it funny the guy who told people Toho monsters weren't going to be in the sequel, and to shut up about speculating the idea, is spearheading this one so deeply.

"'Nostalgic' does not equal 'good,' and 'standards' does not equal 'elitism.'" "Being offended is inevitable. Living offended is your choice."

Seeing as the Comic Con teaser showed three heads then that answers that question was thinking that Or was in the asteroid and Ki Ghidora was an animal that lived in Godzilla's time but was on a different landmass. Thats all i'm saying because Monday I'm posting my version of Rodan's origin and n Mothra, and endng with Ghidora. One question; will the monsters keep there names or will they be called MUTO?

Id gues he flyes because he may alter gravity or something, i hope they say he arrived on earth on the permian meteorite, or the cretaceus metorite to keep him classic

Evacuate?, Godzilla is just a Legend!-Woman in GMK

The real question is whether or not he will have the weird hair on his head like in the Showa version ;)

in all seriousness and honesty, I hope they go for a Heisei-esque look and more of a Showa origin. I liked gmk but that would not fit AT ALL into this movie verse XD and the look was more meh in comparison to the Heisei look for me :)

Those of you saying that a three-headed dragon would be hard to miss:

What if we didn't miss it? Literally every culture, with no exceptions, on this planet has some kind of dragon. And most of them also have multi-headed dragons. For the sake of the examples I'm going to give, 'serpent' and 'dragon' are going to be interchangeable, simply because in most cultures, well, -they are-.

Balaur, a Slavic dragon, genrally depicted with three or more heads.
Slavic Dragons in general are often depicted with more than one head in general
Greece obviously has the most famous one, the Lernaean Hydra.

Let’s stick with Greece for a bit-
Typhon(Father of Monsters)
Ladon
Scylla
Chimera

Now let’s continue with the general multi-headed dragons

Hindu Nagas (can) have multiple heads
Bune(Grand Duke of Hell, commander of thirty legions of the damned)
Nehebkau  (Egyptian serpent, two headed)
Apep (Nother’ Egyptian, this time the God of Darkness & Evil, sometimes depicted multi-headed)
Zahak (Zoroastrian, Three)
Lotan (Seven heads, Canaanite Origin likely)
Tiamat (Babylonian)
Xing Yao (Chinese, nine heads)

And finally, King Ghidorah’s own likely inspiration-

The Yamata-no-Orochi.

So. You sure we missed it? Or have we just assumed it was a myth?

I think Ghidorah will be some sort of sea serpent who is attracted to the radiation deep within the Earth.
