Sinotyrannus vs. Kryptops

Sinotyrannus Kazuoensis

Length: 30 feet (9 meters)
Weight: 2.5 tons
Era: Early Cretaceous
Location: Asia

The large crest on their snout can be filled with blood. Male Sinotyrannus' pump blood into the crest, which then turns from a dark brown to a very strong crimson red. The brighter the color, the healthier the male. This is used during the mating season to attract females, but is also a warning towards other predators. They are one of the few Tyrannosaurids that use their arms and hands in combat and they are also one of the few Tyrannosaurids that have three instead of only two fingers on each hand.

Kryptops Palaios

Length: 25 feet (7.5 meters)
Weight: 2 tons
Era: Middle Cretaceous
Location: Africa

They are not very fast so they prefer ambushing their prey or going after slower, but tougher prey. They use their heads in a similar manner to Pachcephalosaurs and they also have a very strong bite like most other Abelisaurids. They seem to have a rivalry, of sorts, with the Eocarcharia on the island. The Eocarcharias have the upper hand most times because they live in packs unlike Kryptops. Their arms are fairly tiny and almost useless.

Fight!

A hungry Kryptops is walking around in a dense forest. He can see a small clearing, but decides to ignore it. He is walking towards the edge of the forest and then he can smell something familiar. Eocarcharia. He hides in a bush and then risks a glimpse at where the smell is coming from.

He can see three heavily scarred Eocarcharia eating, what seems to be, four Ichthyovenators. There is also one dead Eocarcarcharia. He knows that he has no chance against all of them and decides to wait until they're gone and then eat the leftovers. Because of all the rotting corpses they couldn't notice him.

After an hour or two the Eocarcharia pack finally left. The hungry Kryptops wanted to wait until he was sure that they were gone. After about half an hour, When the first small scavengers appeared, he started eating what was left. A small pack of Troodon challenged him over it. He could easily defeat them. He killed five and three ran away.

He wanted to finish his meal before the bigger predators arrived, but it was too late. The ruckus from his fight with the Troodons and the strong scent of the carcasses had attracted a very large predator. A male Sinotyrannus in his prime. The larger predator roared at the Kryptops. The Kryptops knew that he was smaller, but he was almost starving and desperate enough to accept the challenge of the Sinotyrannus.

The two predators were looking at each other, neither one breaking eye contact. The Sinotyrannus pumped blood into his crest and it glowed in a very strong fire red. It looked very intimidating when combined with the dark blue, almost black body. The Kyptops didn't feel threatened by that, because he didn't know that it meant that this male was in the best physical condition it will ever be.

The reckless Kryptops rushed at the Sinotyrannus in an attempt to ram him. The larger Sinotyrannus tried to avoid it. He managed to bring his head and neck out of range, but the Kryptops still hit him in the chest. He didn't break any bones, but it still hurt. The Sinotyrannus growled while swinging his head around and then bit the Kryptops' neck. He didn't get a good grip and the Kryptops managed to free himself.

They both backed away to catch their breath. The Sinotyrannus attacked first. He charged at the Kryptops and then jumped to the side. Before the Kryptops even knew what was going on the Sinotyrannus had already grabbed him in his claws and had it's jaws around his neck. The Kryptops was struggling under the force of his opponent, but he still managed to kick the Sinotyrannus in it's tibia.

The Sinotyrannus had to let go of the Kryptops and fell down because his broken leg couldn't support his weight anymore.
The Kryptops didn't want to risk his life and ran away. The Sinotyrannus slowly got back to it's feet, but by that time the Kryptops was almost out of sight.

The Sinotyrannus, even though he was heavily wounded, wanted to take revenge on the Kryptops and started hobbling after him.

About three hours later he had finally caught up and he was still just as angry. It was almost midnight and the Kryptops was already sleeping. The Sinotyrannus walked to the Kryptops and then stomped on his back, breaking many bones and injuring the spinal cord. The Kryptops woke up and instantly released a sound that resembled a mix between a roar of anger and a squeal of pain. He wanted to stand up but the Sinotyranus was too heavy and even if he wasn't, he couldn't feel his lower body region anymore. The Sinotyrannus leaned down, pierced deep into the chest of the Kryptops with his claws, severing the lungs and bit down on the neck of the Kryptops with full force.

The Kryptops squealed in agony one last time as his blood was flowing out of his body and then closed his eyes. The Sinotyrannus reared his head up and roared as loud as he could.

The next few weeks were very difficult for him because he couldn't hunt with his broken leg so he had to scavenge, but he still managed to survive until his leg was fully healed.

Winner: Sinotyrannus Kazuoensis

Wasn't really rooting for either, but I expected Sinotyrannus to win.
