MemberMothra LarvaeJan-26-2014 5:51 AMpeople are really taking the realism too far, from the apperence of godzilla to the atomic breath, people take the realism part and think godzilla will have gills and his atomic breath may be invisible or that vapour from early showa. The way i see it the realism part is not godzilla himself, it's his effect to humanity and their reaction to a large creature, the realism part of the atomic breath is the effect of it, not the look, it would be a stupid move to make it radioactive vapour, it is a high budget movie with lots of cgi, the beam from the millenium series (gmk and gxmg/tokyo sos) was really awesome (something that modern audiences would like). you can't try to force the audience on how godzilla could work because the most audiences know that a giant monster is impossible to exist.

MemberTitanosaurusJan-26-2014 7:28 AMDefinitely agree on that whole "realism by humanity" part. A giant monster is possible in my eyes, but the circumstances in the creation of one and its size and exotic abilities are almost, key word "almost", non-existant. Basically, it's never gonna happen in someone's lifetime, considering how long it takes after such conditions are met. But again, that's just my two cents. I honestly have no idea how I would react to the presence of a giant monster that is almost never going to actually exist except in the most absolutely extreme cases where every condition is met. Therefore, how Gareth portrays people's reactions will be quite interesting to see.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-26-2014 9:12 AMSometimes I think, "if the destruction affects humans realisically in this movies, why not show people dieing from getting squished by rubble, or falling off of buildings or even guts spitting out?" Maybe I went too far...

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-26-2014 9:23 AMyou kind of did but i see your point, i'm pretty sure the realism is the humans, that's why godzilla needs good acting, if the humans can give a good perspective then the movie will be better than having a movie focused just the mosters.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-26-2014 9:27 AMJust so you know, it's 2014, CGI and visual effects came a long way, it will be the most realistic Godzilla to date, and this movie does show bodies.
It's not 2004 anymore.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-26-2014 9:36 AMthat's not what im saying @jordan swickard, thats what others are saying (you must know who they are) what i'm saying is that people are taking the realsim out of context, i can dig the feet and the gills(unless they really are scales) but the big thing is that some like kyero say that 'will' be a the breath from the early showa (the superheated vapour breath), which is stupid to consider since that is the cheapest form of sfx.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-26-2014 9:47 AMI'm not quite sure how the atomic breathe will be, I don't think it'll be vaper though, I think they'll make it blue, and badass, because they want this movie to leave a huge impression. They're not just gonna make his breathe invisible. It'll be a color, full depth, and very destructive. I also don't understand why people are saying he'll be killed by a nuke, he feeds on energy, he was made from a nuke.. it'll just give him more power. Common sense.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-26-2014 10:02 AMi only belive a nuke would injure him slightly but the radiation will give him more power, i would guess the more nukes fired at him, the more resistant he would become. and i'm pretty sure it wont be TOO realistic, that would be absoultly stupid and would be GINO all over again.
GODZILLA HIMSELF
MemberMothra LarvaeJan-26-2014 11:14 AMmaybe they should do something like in kingdom of monsters. they nuke him, and not only does he survive it, but it actually mutates him more and gives him his atomic ray.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-26-2014 8:56 PM@ THEGMAN123 - Kaiju are not possible. If you want to understand why, then read this:http://www.angelfire.com/ego/g_saga/kaijubiologyarticle.html.
For anyone thinking that the realism of this film is going to be literal, it's not. We must still suspend out disbelief about a creature as large as Godzilla ever existing.
Remember that radiation doesn't just do whatever you want it to. Godzilla's mutation and transformation into the form we know and love today is an impossible feat and the result of nothing more than a fantastical imagining of a terrifying creature that represented the horrors of the atomic bomb in Japan nine years before the film was released in 1954.
Godzilla would never exist, nor would any Kaiju. This movie's realism is geared towards the reaction if it could, but we know it never could. Still, we'll see where Legendary takes it.
