Paradise release date??!

November 2015 release date? How reliable is the source? Does anyone know?

I'm starting to think that Prometheus 2 will NOT be called "Paradise," as there is already a film by that title which was released in 2013. There is also a TV drama, here in England, called Paradise.

Alien Paradise would be a good title.

But honestly it is not an impossible release date, so I hope it's at that time. 

I suggest 'Lost Paradise' or 'Fallen Angel' as title. 'Paradise has a connotation of being extremely sinister and ominous.’ said Ridley Scott. So i think this would suit to it. 

.....and it's not April 1st yet, so can't be an April fool!

@123Engineer; That's weird, i've been thinking up good titles for Prometheus 2 for the past hour or so and "Fallen Angels" was one that came to mind before reading your post. :)

I would say they allready had a idea of roughly what they wanted to do with Prometheus Part 2 for over a year now, after Prometheus and even during its final stages i am sure they ahd a rough idea of where they wanted to go.

The fact so many scenes was cut from the movie could also mean they had just before release of Prometheus had some idea of what changes they wanted to make.  Such as the Elder scene, Ridley wanted to keep them a mystrey for a sequel and thats one reason they was cut, the other well Ridley did sugest he was not keen on how the final product looked as far as who these Elder beings are, which could hint that they are getting a redesign.

So even from then Ridley and Fox would have a rough idea of where they want to go, and that indeed was Paradise where these Engineers come from and the fact we saw so little about their culture and the Elder Scenes and Dialog was left out etc... Means we are going to be seeing more Engineers and Elders but it could be the Elders get a revamp and the Engineers role tonned down more so they are not so much the creators but mearly tools for the Elders as David 8 is a Tool for Humanity.

Now just because they would all ready have a idea of what they want to do, does not mean the movie draft is done, nope they would have some ideas and then sat down and brain stormed these ideas more and then ultiately pitched these ideas to  Paglen who then would start to write some scripts around these ideas and maybe incorperate some of this own which then Fox and Ridley would green light or some would then reconmend changes etc.....

This process can take time, as well the stage they was most likely at just after Prometheus would be like say these rough ideas for Prometheus that would had been around in 2010.

That being Prometheus would be a movie about the race of the Pilot from Alien and that this race are giant humanoids who had a hand in creating and evolving mankind and visiting us in the past, And that some human Scientist find more clues left by these Ancient Godlike creators and these clues point to a Star System that then the Scientists believe is where these beings came from.  They put this to Weyland so he can fund a mission... But what they find is not what they expect and that these beings have their hand in experiments with a Alien Organism that they appear to be using as a Bio Weapon in different varieties and that some how they intended to use it on Earth some 2000 years ago but things went wrong and a outbreak wiped all but one of their kind out.

The crew from Earth then encounter the horrors that these Engineers was messing about with, and unearth a number of events that are related to the Xeno DNA.  And at the end of the movie only the Android and one of the Scientist Survive and she wants answers having found out these Engineers did not come from this place but this place was some kind of Outpost for creating, experimenting on and testing these Bio Weapons... So she (Shaw) wants to go to where they come from for Answers.

So just as most of the above would have roughly been put to paper before Spaights had finished his final draft, before he worked on that i would say he and Ridley thrashed ideas of what the movie would be about and it would roughly include a lot of what i outlined above before the drafts started to pop up....

That being said this shows that while maybe Ridley and Fox have a idea of where they want Paradise to go and what to incorpirate into it as far back as before or just after Prometheus was released, the movie still needs work on as far as turning the rough ideas to a draft and even then after Paglen has done some drafts they would all have to sit down and green light which parts to keep or change and changes could be made... such as when Lindeloff came on board with Prometheus.

But if the release date is fall of 2015 then we have to assume things will pick up over the next few months as they surely would need 12 months to shoot and edit the final draft onto screen.

I have a few suspicions that some of Paradise was shot in advance, and the date could even move up to august.

I kinda like "Pandora".  Could easily fit with some of what I'm thinking. I think it should start with a "P" and and continue the Greek mythology themes, also that there will be a theme that has to do with females or daughters. Pandora and Persephone would work for me. Also Poseidon, but Poseidon would be if things go a certain way. People like to think of Hades as the "bad one".  Weyland's "we're the gods" could mean we're now the god class, while Engineers/androids are kinda representative of Prometheus/Titans.

Persephone could be all about how Weyland is more like Hades, separating mothers and daughters, cloning corporate trophy wifes, and dragging some of them to the underworld/realms of the subconscious/subspace, kidnapping Amanda consciousness.

Ravel and Chance thought Miss Vickers was one of the corporate trophy wifes that they could trade their credits in for a lapdance to. However, this was almost real Miss Vickers the first to be genetically engineered, ended up taking over the job of a top Weyland investor, and worked her way up the company to be the only genetically created Vickers to get off her leash and away from the Android consciousness who rules the Earth/parts of the consciousness of the clones/trophy wifes.

The daughters Weyland has created and taken away from their real mothers/fathers are cloned and turned into trophy wifes like Caryl Delacroix from the old Alien/Predator Deadliest Species comics. At some point in the future Ripley's daughter was stuck on the Yacht with Weyland in the dreamverse/underworld. All the girls that would have surrounded him on his "dream yacht" as he talked to David from hypersleep are real people, or at least were real people at one time, who are actually trapped in between cryo and the hibernation state, and have been dragged to Weyland's underworld between life and death, where they were there mainly to amuse him.  Weyland's already found ways to exist through the underworld, away from the android singularity/consciousness.  Android's lack dreams or a subconscious, and Weyland equates this with soul. David is interested in watching dreams, because he can't have his own. Weyland intends to eventually reunite Amanda, Ripley, and the Shaws. But only when Mother and Father need them.

I would think they would keep Prometheus you see they confused a lot of casual viewers with Prometheus as they would not know it was a Alien Prequel of sorts...

So i dont think they would call the movie Paradise...... most likely it would be Prometheus:Paradise so a connection to both movies is made.

As for using Alien..... i think they could use that for a Final movie, maybe not linked directly to Prometheus Franchise or Alien but one that would finally bridge the gap to both.

And Alien Alpha would be a ideal name,  and a chance to show the Alien Orgins or what ever Organism this Alien came from and the connection to the Engineers....

This would be off course provided that Prometheus Part 2 and 3 do not answer this  to any detail.

lol i do love your sense of depth with your ideas, and hey i dont really agree with if they are right to go that route of indeed if they do.... but you cant rule out similar to a degree as Ridley did say that Prometheus and Blade Runner could be connected, and maybe thats not as canon but just the concepts could be incorpirated into both movies...

i.e Clones as in Biological Androids AKA Replicants so we can not rule out the inclusion of similar Clones and they not being aware of it in Prometheus franchise, but i am not sure it should be heavily based on such things as your ideas are.... but hey very good ideas mind.

But i do agree that a degree of Paradise may had already been shot, you see while they had the Jugernaught Set up, it would have made sense that if Paradise is to show us a scene from inside the ship Shaw and David have Hijacked, then it would make sense to had already shot such scenes before hand.

so if we are to see Shaw re-attach Davids head and Shaw end up in Cryo Pod and David get into the Pilot Chair it would make sense to shoot them scenes while finishing Prometheus..

This does not mean they have to use them, just make financial sense to shoot some while they are at it just in case...

Yeah I can easily see it being called Prometheus: Paradise, just to make sure the audience knows what it is. My idea for a movie called Persephone or Pandora might work better after part 2, as part 3. This second movie should relate more to Prometheus and answer a lot of questions in Prometheus. I think you can get away with just titling the third movie something, but this story should be a direct continuation of Prometheus.

Calling it Paradise would work if there were more references to Paradise in this movie, in the alternate cut David actually mentions it again. But as it stands we only saw Shaw's father speak the word Paradise, so a lot of movie goers might forget that. Tagging the Prometheus on the front of it is a lot better than calling it Prometheus 2.

@ BigDave I like to try to look at Prometheus in a lot of different ways to solve it. There are still some questions I have about why Ravel and Chance would think they could get a lapdance from her. I've read a lot of the old comics, so I based my reasoning on the story of Caryn Delacroix, from the old Dark Horse Comics. Although, without more data I believe it's impossible to know a lot of things about Prometheus for sure and I'm kinda just adapting and refining my theories as I go. The whole vickers being a genetically engineered daughter of Weyland is just something I've kinda been tossing back and forth, thnking about how that might work and connect to other things.I've got a few theories that I think are more likely to happen, but with this movie we really can't be sure of anything yet! That's why I love it so much, there are so many ways it can go. I owe some credit for some parts of my other theories to a lot of past posters here, as well as current posters like yourself.

There are a lot of things I agree with many posters on, and I think together we've figured out at least the basics, and some strong possibilities for a lot of things like why the Engineer was mad, and how the goo works (there's been some brilliant posts on the goo by members here in the past).

I think the francise is going the route that all Ancient cultures and interpretations are some how connected...

so not just a case of Titans but also that Sumerian, Egyptian and even Bible and Korans Angels are all connected some how and are purely just different interpretations of a event that is what Prometheus is showing...

I think the term Paradise is just broadly used to describe the place that Gods come from, i.e Heaven. But many cultures have different names for this place so Paradise is just used as to cover all bases.

I also hope this is the idea behind the movie, in that we find out if there are more of the Engineers, and where they came from and how and why they came to be. Who are the Elders and their connection and Agenda, and where to they come from and is there some higher being or machine that is the creator?

I think any connection to Alien and the Xeno should be limited and likewise Weyland, i would like some side plot about Weyland but not much.  But leave the end of the movie as sewing the seeds for Weyland and also LV 223 and the Xeno.

Basically leading a 3rd movie to show us how Weyland Yutani came about, and that they find LV 223 and it is from there visit that LV 223 gives up more clues to the Xeno as the Humans and Androids on that mission plan to find out what went down and what this place was for... as opposed to Prometheus mission which was to find out who these Engineers are....

I would like to see Part 3 end with Shaw going back to LV 223 to destroy the outpost having found out the true scale to the Dangers it holds, and also getting some answers from the Elders.

Part 3 ends with the distruction of LV 223.. so there is nothing to be had on there... Shaw would think she has finally saved mankind...

But she would be unware that Weyland know of the signal on LV 426 and it is this place that is the only and last chance of them to salvage anything of these Engineers Tech.

Maybe the final scene we could see a board meeting at Weyland Yutani, and see them plan a mission to LV 426 by using the Nostramo and plan to plant a Android on board (Ash) to act as a Human and make sure they get to LV 426 and try and find out and retrive what ever they can from the last remains of Engineer Race in the near Galaxy... and that is the Derelict Ship.

Yes there are many many posibilities for sure, and regarding Vickers who knows... you see we have to wonder if Vickers is the only heir to the company that means there is no heir to carry on. Unless Weyland has a brother who can take over and his line leads to Charles Bishop Weyland from Alien 3?

Then again Ridley did sugest there may be more than one Android, now Replicants are kind of Androids they are basically genetically engineered clones who have memories implanted into them so they are Organic Androids who do not known they are Clones etc.

So Vickers could be similar? But then again that comment could be that the Engineers are Biological Clones created by the Elders for the same reasons that Mankind created David.

And with the removal of so many scenes, that added more culture and personality to the Engineers could be a attempt by Ridley and Fox to portray these Engineers as merely Genetically created Androids to perform tasks that otheriwse the Elders would have to do.

Thus making the Engineers similar to the Anunnaki  and Igigi and thus our Engineers are the Igigi, who likewise may have rebelled against the Elders/Anunnaki and thus maybe reasons for the creation of the Xeno and LV 223, in that these Engineers then destroyed their creators on Paradise or most of them, and that these Engineers tried to get mankind to then worship them.

Having this fail, they then decided to destroy us with a new Organism that would create a new stage of Evolution on Earth in the image of something these Engineers decided to worship as opposed to the Elders.

This is the kind of idea i had beind the franchise and what my rough ideas for a sequel would be about, but how close or far from which way they would go in Paradise is any ones guess.

^^One thing that adds to the idea that Paradise can mean a lot of different thngs, and that there are links to many myths is that Weyland's mother studied comparative mythology at Oxford. According to the info that was released in the viral.

I can easily see this series being about many different ancient cultures/mythologies.  I think there's also a very strong parenthood theme, Weyland wanting a son, "don't all children want to see their parents die" (rebellion of the younger/created factions) with the FATHER stuff. Maybe later we learn more about how MOTHER was created.

Weyland became a lot like his own father, who was said to be a self-taught engineer. David is Weyland's perfect son, they have some similarities because they both like the "trick" from Lawrence of Arabia. Weyland brought it up in the Ted Talk, but David didn't bring it up until the movie. I think the "trick" is really important, whatever it really means within the story..

People are influenced by a mixture of nature and nurture. Weyland's personality, his behavioural traits, some of his intelligence etc. comes from both parents + the culture he came from/learned in, a lot of Weyland's knowledge is self taught, but his parents would still be huge role models. I think a little bit of Weyland's mother's cross-comparative way of looking at mythology has already become a part of Weyland.  Sorta like she had always formed part of his thinking towards the bigger questions, and told him there are many similarities between myths, this made him more inclined to believe Shaw that the Engineers were real when she found arcahaeological evidence of the star map all over the world.  Basically, Weyland might have already had his suspicions that many of the ancient myths were saying similar things.

Weyland might actually understand that they're only one of the groups, since a lot of the myths talk about multiple groups. He could be almost tricking Shaw, and hoping that the Engineers had what he was looking for, and "there's nothing" also refers to the immortality he was looking for.  One thing that might support Weyland being linked to the Annunaki/Igigi myths is that his wing symbol for the company is very similar to the original Sumerian symbol. I also kinda think they're more representative of the Igigi than the Annunaki. If they really do represent the Igigi more, then there's a chance Weyland figured this out at some point, and actually fashioned his symbol for the company as the winged globe that is associated with the Annunaki class.  In that case, The Engineers might not have been the ones Weyland was looking for.
