Hello Daikaiju Fan-boys and girls!

So, I am a big fanatic when it somes to soundtracks, and I was wondering if any of you have any predicitons/speculations on what the Godzilla 2014 soundtrack will be like.

Do you think it'll be like the trailer's song? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PH0pTGYJ63k)

Or do you think it will be a different genre (rock, orchestral, etc...)?

To match the tone and quality of this Godzilla film, I honestly think orchestral is the only way to go.

I'm sure once the movie is released we'll see plenty of Youtube clip edits with poorly chosen music, as Youtube is want to do.

I'm pretty sure some dark metal rock themes will be in the movie. Possibly a nice solo guitar somewhere in the film.

Orchestra and horror/acepella. I want this to feel like a horror disaster movie.

Definately electrofolkmetalcountrydiscotrance. And then find some nitwit prog-rock has-been to helm the project. That'll be super!

I have no idea why that appeared 3 times. I pressed the button only once.

Duratok pretty much nailed it. I'm 99.9% positive everything he wrote is the honest-to-God truth.

This will be a full-on, orchestrated score. If anyone's done their homework on the film's composer, Alexandre Desplat, and kept in touch with the tone the filmmakers are going for, you would know this is going to have a fairly brooding, dark score.

Anyone who thinks there's going to be metal music, guitar solos or rock bands belting crap during the credits are kidding themselves. But I'm sure bad youtube videos will be made with that kind of stuff in about 6 or 7 months...

I agree.

Can they just use Ligeti's score? Like all of it? And not alter it like that hack Kubrick did? Lux Aeterna and Atmospheres' terrifyingly surreal sound would be wonderfully fitting to the film, I think.
