So, just to confirm, this is Rex vs Spino 4, right?

Deltadromeus

MemberCompsognathusOct-01-2013 6:44 PM
Yes, Spino vs rex 4. It is the only time Spinosaurus vs T. rex is now allowed to come up

Hi

Lord Vader

MemberTyrannosaurus RexOct-01-2013 6:46 PM
Big time Delta, for sure the ONLY time Rex vs Spino is allowed.

Tarbosaurus vs Oxalaia is a different story

Hi

Lord Vader

MemberTyrannosaurus RexOct-01-2013 6:50 PM
Yeah it is. It isn't Rex vs Spinosaurus, but it's pretty damn close.

No, but there has never been easy fights over that, so go ahead and say who would win (it is Oxalaia)

Hi

Oxalaia was close to Spinosaurus in size right? If there is a 10 foot length difference between them, then Oxalaia beats Tarbo almost every time.

Exactly! Max Oxalaia stats and competition Length: 50 feet Weight: 6-7 tons Competition: Giganotosaurus, Mapusaurus, Ekrixinatosaurus, Tyrannotitan Max Tarbosaurus Length: 40 feet Weight: 6 tons Competition: Gigantoraptor, Z-tyrannus, Velociraptor, Achillobator

Close in weight. Oxalaia has Superior competition, it would be an interesting battle, almost a scaled down Rex vs Spino.

Tarbo has the much deadlier bite, but Ox has size and power, Tarbo has speed, but Ox has huge arms. That is a fight I want to see more than rex vs spino

Hi

Lord Vader

MemberTyrannosaurus RexOct-01-2013 7:09 PM
Speed and bite vs strength and big arms. That would be a helluva battle.

Maybe FBR worthy. Hmmm,

Hi

Lord Vader

MemberTyrannosaurus RexOct-01-2013 7:17 PM
Maybe not FBR, but DinoFights (or DeltaFights, wink wink). Basically, if Tarbo could get past the arms, it wins, but if Oxalaia gets past the jaws, it's chances improve significantly at the least.

Ox can also just hold Tarbo back for some time. It has the strength advantage, and the height too. Perfect for grabbing Tarbo's neck and snapping it.

Hi

Lord Vader

MemberTyrannosaurus RexOct-01-2013 7:30 PM
But the same time, Tarbo could bite its neck from below IF it disables the arms or gets in real fast.

It could. 5 tons of pressure would kill the neck. Hey, its your 900th post , woo hoo

Hi

Lord Vader

MemberTyrannosaurus RexOct-01-2013 7:36 PM
Which is 5 tons? And 902 now.

Tarbo bite

Hi

Lord Vader

MemberTyrannosaurus RexOct-01-2013 7:50 PM
I thought so. 5 tons seems reasonable as a maximum estimate for Spinosaurus in my opinion.

It certainly seems like a good bite force to me

Tarbosaurus has a thinner skull than T. rex, with less muscle attachments. Its eyes were positioned more to the side, were slightly bigger, its nares were smaller and its teeth were thinner and smaller proportionately. The holotype Tarbosaurus was huge, being Sue length. However, the rest center between 33 and 36 feet as a maximum length. Tarbosaurus has legs well adapted for running, perhaps for hunting Deinocheirus (though it would only catch it by ambush). I see a bite force of 4 tons being the maximum. Oxalaia has been downsized. It now is Suchomimus length at 40 feet. There are several variables that affect the outcome here. If Oxalaia was a Baryonichine related to Suchomimus and Baryonyx, it would have only a short muscle ridge. Also, it would have narrow jaws and a somewhat weak bite, though its jaws would have been good at resisting force. Its teeth, however, would be slightly curved and serrated. If it was a Spinosaurine, it would have a muscular ridge, be potentially as robust as or more so than Tarbosaurus, judging by this Spino skeletal compared to Rex's. A large muscular ridge would give it a power edge. Also, a spinosaurine Oxalaia would have powerful jaws, capable of a near 3 ton bite at 40 feet. However, its teeth would be only marginally curved and very finely serrated. Its claws and arms would be deadly as well, the claws themselves likely topping 2 feet. I say Tarbo beats Suchomimus-like Oxalaia, but loses to Spinosaurus-like Oxalaia. However, the latter would be very close.

It would still be a good fight to see Spyrannosaurus, regardless of the outcome, it would be good.

Very true. I mean, not that I would pit one animal against another for fun, but yeah, 'twould be a cool fight. Here's a Tarbosaurus skull compared to a Rex's. A Tarbo vs. Oxalaia fight would be certainly cool! I'd go for the Oxalaia with chances of 70-30

Now that I think about it, maybe 60-40. Oxalaia's favor
