Welcome, ladies and gentleman, to my daily DinoFight. I always appreciate my loyal readers, but for those of you who are new, every day I pit two of the most formidable dinosaurs to ever exist against one another in a fight to the death (most of the time). Medium division, round 2, fight 23: Therizinosaurus vs Appalachiosaurus *Running short on time so no TTJ, I'll just use an InGen File for Therizinosaurus and write a quick one for Appalachiosaurus. InGen File: Therizinosaurus [img]http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2012/341/9/8/therizinosaurus_by_antarcticspring-d365n2d.jpg[/img] Code Name: Claws Danger Level: Harmless unless provoked Height: 19 feet Length: 38 feet Weight: 6 tons Speed: 25 mph Diet: Unknown Weapons: Claws, size Description: Therizinosaurus is a large theropod that exists solely on Isla Sorna. It is one of the tallest theropods but is relatively short in length. It has a short and thick tail as well as a barrel-like body with a long neck and small head. Their arms are very long, up to 11.5 feet in the largest specimens, and their claws are the longest known to have existed at over three feet long. They also have relatively stocky and inflexible legs with short claws. Two "species" of Therizinosaurus existed. The first, a carnivorous, cold blooded scaly version, was cloned as an unknown species in 1985 by InGen and much of its missing DNA was filled with that of a Water Monitor lizard. This species had a shorter neck than the other, was slower, had shorter and more curved claws, a longer tail and had a lizard-like head with curved serrated teeth. It preyed on small animals like Stygimoloch when being observed after escaping and was only kept on Isla Sorna because of its strange and "unfriendly" appearance. This Therizinosaurus species was fond of water because of its Water Monitor mutation. All but one died in 1993 when a Tyrannosaurus escaped and killed them before being recaptured. The other more correct "species" was created in 1995 from remains with more DNA preserved and a 95-99% complete animal was created. This Therizinosaurus is feathered and has a beak rather than a lizard-like head. It is very similar in color to the Himalayan Monal pheasant and the males of the species even have the same head plumes. In 2010 one worker's son remarked that one of them in a photograph looked like Kevin from the Disney film Up so when the male (along with three females) is created and put on display in 2015 he will be named "Kevin". InGen File: Appalachiosaurus [img]https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-Wmg_LlbTdkQ/UixBhiNvBxI/AAAAAAAAAIo/uRUMYOpp1Xs/s640/blogger-image-2006800189.jpg[/img] Danger Level: Very Dangerous Height: 13 feet Length: 30 feet Weight: 3 tons Speed: 28 mph Diet: Carnivore Weapons: Bite, speed Description: Appalachiosaurus is one of InGen's newest dinosaurs, created in 2001. They were released on northern coast of Isla Nublar but didn't stay long, swimming to the small surrounding islands between Nublar and Sorna. They are solitary hunters that rarely interact with other animals, only coming together to breed. The young reach maturity in about 3 years but continue to grow until death, living about 10 to 15 years and reaching sizes of over 30 feet and 3 tons. They are flexible and have lithe and gracile builds for tyrannosaurs, enabling them to swim well, run fast, mover quicker overall and adapt to more environments. Strangely, they are very good swimmers and have partial webbing between their fingers and toes just as spinosaurs do. They enjoy swimming and playing in water. Though they usually prey on dinosaurs, they will prey on fish if they don't want to leave their island. Another strange characteristic of them is their Ceratosaurus-like coloring, being greyish tan with a red head and shoulders, yellow eyes, black stripes and white tail tips. Females are this color as well and males are distinguishable as having small wavy crests on their noses. Though they are planned for cloning, they are not a high priority due to their similarity to Ceratosaurus. Fight! [img]http://www.wikidino.com/wp-content/uploads/Therizinosaurus-luis-rey-705x1024.jpg[/img] A Therizinosaurus sits, his neck at the top of a ten foot tall anthill and his claw in the top of it. He pulls his claw out after a couple of minutes and licks the termites off with his long sticky tongue. He's spent the last few hours clearing it out and comes up empty on his next few tries. Still wanting more, he swipes it a few times with his huge claws and eats the few remaining termites. He meanders over to another hill and starts to dig in it. Little does he know that his life is in danger while he laps up the termites. An Appalachiosaurus is standing behind a towering mound over twenty feet tall, stalking the Therizinosaurus. Normally he wouldn't bother taking on such a huge animal, but he's desperate now and this is a perfect opportunity, the intended prey completely distracted and in an environment that limits its movement. The tyrannosaur runs from behind the hill silently, his feet kicking up dust as he charges the Therizinosaurus. The omnivorous giant has a stroke of luck when he stands to get a better position on the hill, avoiding a bite to the neck and instead being bitten in the shoulder. He immediately cranes his neck down and looks at the Appalachiosaurus latched on to his shoulder. With a bellow he yanks his arm back and loses a big piece of his side. The Appalachiosaurus tosses the piece aside for later before resuming his attack, circling around the Therizinosaurus and biting a piece of its feathered tail off. The Therizinosaurus takes a swipe at the predator, its enormous claws narrowly missing the Appalachiosaurus. The tyrannosaur runs forward and headbutts the Therizinosaurus in the ribs, making it stumble to the side. The Appalachiosaurus runs again at the Therizinosaurus and bites onto its feathery leg, biting hard and shaking the half off piece around. But the Therizinosaurus isn't a weak and defenseless herbivore. With a fearsome shriek, he stabs the Appalachiosaurus in the shoulder and rips his claws up. The tyrannosaur roars and pulls away, waiting for the Therizinosaurus to drop its guard. Its leg gives out a little and the Appalachiosaurus takes advantage, pouncing on the Therizinosaurus. He bites its back just below the neck and the Therizinosaurus rears with a shriek. The Appalachiosaurus is lifted from the ground and dangles from the back of the Therizinosaurus. The therizinosaur stumbles back as the Appalachiosaurus holds on, hooking his claws into the Therizinosaurus' back. The bigger and stronger omnivore stumbles back before running forward and slamming into an anthill, the velocity the massive animals picked up in the run causing the hill to crumble. Thousands of termites cover the two as they careen into another hill, smashing through it as well. They roar and stumble around again before the Therizinosaurus falls back first into a towering hill over 20 feet tall and the Appalachiosaurus falls off. The Therizinosaurus, relieved of the weight, drops onto one of its arms and catches its breath before standing up and facing the now standing Appalachiosaurus and taking it on face to face. The Therizinosaurus takes the upper hand with a slice to the face of the tyrannosaur and a slice to the back, peeling off skin as the Appalachiosaurus roars in pain. The Appalachiosaurus headbutts the Therizinosaurus in the stomach but the sturdy Therizinosaurus holds its ground, only slightly hurt from the attack. In a gory scene the Appalachiosaurus bites the Therizinosaurus in the stomach and tears back, causing blood to pour over his face. He gulps down the piece but the Therizinosaurus capitalizes with a swipe to the jaw. The Appalachiosaurus stumbles back and the Therizinosaurus calls loudly before meeting the Appalachiosaurus in front of the towering termite mound and the two collide with it. A crack runs to the top and a tiny bit crumbles off. Foolishly, the two continue brawling under it, slamming each other into it repeatedly. Finally, the formation cracks all the way through and the whole giant structure falls on them. Piece after piece rain from the sky and the two are covered in seconds, not only buried by the falling mound but also stuck in the hole below it. Millions of termites swarm the two as they are buried alive. The Therizinosaurus swings its powerful arms in a desperate attempt for air and finally breaks the surface, bringing its prosauropod-like neck above ground and crawling out. As it shakes the dirt and termites off itself the Appalachiosaurus burrows out from the Therizinosaurus' tunnel like a giant scaly mole. The two meet again as the Therizinosaurus lumbers forward and slaps the Appalachiosaurus' head and tears its throat open with another powerful swipe. The tyrannosaur is sent reeling and falls into the mound the Therizinosaurus broke open earlier. As it struggles to get up the Therizinosaurus walks to the carnivore and steps on its neck, ending the fight as the sun reaches its peak in the sky. After leaving the Appalachiosaurus to die, the blood covered Therizinosaurus walks into the forest, eating leaves from a tree before looking for a place to rest. WINNER: THERIZINOSAURUS [img]http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2013/237/2/f/therizinosaurus_by_esthervanhulsen-d6jmy5f.jpg[/img] Strength, size, deadly weapons and durability won this for the giant therizinosaur. Though speed and agility favored the carnivore, the size difference was a little too big for the DinoBrawl winner.

Good fight. Any predator would have trouble bringing down a Therizinosaurus. A carnivore would have to comparable to the Therizinosaurus in size, if not larger.

Awesome fight. Daspletosaurus, you better watch out, Therizinosaurus is pretty nasty and has made a name for himself.

So the next fight is a 3 way battle eh? Interesting. Rooting for Daspletosaurus... [img]http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130412140054/planetdinosaur/images/a/a9/Daspletosaurus.png[/img]

Yeah, or otherwise we would have one dinosaur left without a fight due to the uneven number of fights in round 1.

Das is among my favorite dinosaurs. Once I saw Little Das' Hunt on Dinosaur Planet, I was hooked. PS- The roar they gave the Daspletosaurus was awesome. Probably my favorite dinosaur roar. I like it a little more than the JP Rex roar. Surprising right? haha

Don't get me wrong, the JP Rex roar was awesome and jaw dropping. But that Daspletosaurus roar was very impressive, haha

I'm still rooting for Yangchuanosaurus, but in the next fight, Das. He's one of my favorite dinosaurs. I seem to have a lot of favorites.

Daspletosaurus and Yangchuanosaurus are certainly both great competitors. But they face Therizinosaurus, Cristatusaurus and Veterupristisaurus, all of which rival or exceed them in size...

I'll still root for Daspletosaurus [img]http://i1.ytimg.com/vi/3HBonAgDMtM/maxresdefault.jpg[/img] [img]http://img.rp.vhd.me/4509011_l2.jpg[/img] [img]http://ichef.bbci.co.uk/naturelibrary/images/ic/credit/640x395/d/da/daspletosaurus/daspletosaurus_1.jpg[/img]

DinoFights, you said that yang was 36 feet long and 6 tons. He's the second biggest competitor in the fight. If you are going to replace Suchomimus, then he'd be the biggest. Or at least the longest.

There goes Delta again, glorifying Yang as much as possible, haha. Just messing with ya Delta.

I really like yang, four fingers, slightly longer than a fragilis, and about as heavy as an a fragilis who eats to much and is a bodybuilder at the same time.

Ceratosaurus is really cool, and I think that it used its horn more than its given credit for.

I like the last Daspletosaurus pic the best. Also, Yang is the second biggest but is still closely followed by some and exceeded by Therizinosaurus.

The Das is from planet dino, or dino planet, I get the two mixed up.

Planet Dinosaur. Dinosaur Planet is much older with less dinosaurs and Planet Dinosaur has Bradycneme, Mapusaurus, Spinosaurus and Predator X among many things.
