DinoFights
NoobMember0 XPAug-24-2013 11:39 AMTomorrow I'm posting the last fight of round 1, Daspletosaurus vs Tarascosaurus, then I'll post the first fight of round 2, Carnotaurus vs Ceratosaurus.
Being half the length of round 1, round two will be finished in just a day over a week, after that the quarter finals will be over in four days, the semifinals in two, and we will end season 2 of DinoFights with an epic clash of two dinosaurs that fought their way from round one to the finals, battling their way through some of the deadliest animals ever to exist on the final day.
But before we kick off season 3 with the epicness that is Tyrannosaurus rex vs Shantungosaurus, we have some bonus fights.
As of now I only have a couple of bonus fights and they're rather dull when it comes to star power. So I need your help coming up with more fights.
One idea that was suggested to me by my sister was doing a season as a way to right my wrongs from season 1.
And there were A LOT of wrongs.
Seriously, we had some huge mismatches there (Sinornithosaurus vs Deinonychus, Troodon vs Dilophosaurus, Achillobator vs Deinonychus and I think Deinonychus won... My sincere apologies...) so I really actually thought that it was a good idea. I could do a small division mini season with contestants like Kaprosuchus, Postosuchus, Dilophosaurus, Achillobator and Alioramus.
Or, as originally planned, I could do a series of random fights with no real classification made of fights suggested by you, ranging anywhere from Anchiornis vs Amphicoelias to 3 Carnotaurus vs T. rex.
Vote for whatever you want, and if it's suggested fights, give me your match(es).
You're the readers and I'm writing these for your entertainment.
Season 3
My sister is busy trying to find fossils in Africa right now (she's found a small jaw segment, a lot of teeth, some fragments, shells with pieces broke out of them in uniform fashion, an arrowhead and some fossilized plants), but by the time season 3 rolls around she should be done and she has agreed to give me her researched statistics and advise the fights and variables, so we will have an overall significantly more accurate outcome and battle for the fights, and it also saved me time researching. It's kind of nice to have the help of a technically professional, though minor league, paleontologist.
Also, in season 3 the fights may not take place in the Jurassic Park universe but rather a random time and space displaced location, so that way the inaccuracies of JP don't affect the fights.
The stats will be in both metric and imperial measurements, being that my sister uses metric as a paleontologist.
InGen Files are still looking to be included to keep it related to Jurassic Park, but once again, it's up to you.
The schedule is still solid apart from Stegosaurus being replaced with Dacentrurus and I decided I would use Allosaurus/Saurophaganax maximus specimen OMNH 1935, which measures 13-14 m (43-46 feet) in length and weighs about 6.5 t scaling from a 0.545 m humerus and other fragments. 15 m is upper estimate, but being conservative, 13 m could be used, rather than Allosaurus/Epanterias amplexus, which measures about 12 meters and up to 6 t.
I will be providing evidence for measurement claims so the size won't be criticized.
Prepare for season 3, It's coming soon!
