The most voted on yesterday, I present you with the largest ornithopod ever to exist versus one of the largest theropods ever to exist. InGen File Name: Huaxiaosaurus Meaning: Chinese lizard Code Name: None Danger Level: Unknown Height: 37-40 feet Length: 61-70 feet Weight: 25+ tons Speed: 35 mph charge Diet: Plants Weapons: Size, strength, tail Description: Huaxiaosaurus was secretly created, like many species, and passed off as Shantungosaurus when 25 were ordered to keep the ecosystem stable on Isla Nublar, though only ten went to Nublar. The rest went to Sorna so that its ecosystem would stay stable as well. They were easy to pass off as Shantungosaurus because they have no visual differences and may in fact be the same dinosaur. They are most often seen in southern Isla Sorna beaches among Paralititan because there are less large carnivores on the beaches on in the south. Their main worries are Spinosaurus, Bahariasaurus, Sarcosuchus and Carcharodontosaurus, though they only pick off the young or sick. On Isla Nublar they have a wider range but still only travel together in a single herd among other animals for protection from predators despite their enormous size. They are usually very playful and are fairly intelligent, capable of being trained to respond to their given names and perform basic acts like rearing up and waving. Their intelligence is also displayed by their ability to mimic the sounds of any other animal on the islands from Triceratops' bellow to Tyrannosaurus' roar to Quetzalcoatlus' screech by inflating the sacs on their noses to different levels and positioning their lips and tongues differently, something that they apparently learned from the smaller Parasaurolophus. They use it to entertain each other or playfully "prank" other animals by sounding like a carnivore. They usually are peaceful and try to avoid conflict. They can, however, be extremely violent if angered. In one instance a bull Huaxiaosaurus attacked a young and slightly larger Brachiosaurus in mating season to show off, going so far as to push the Brachiosaurus over and mock its calls for help by mimicking them. It eventually left the juvenile after its herd came back. They have also been observed attacking large carnivores, presumably to prevent them from eating their young. If they are irritated they push over trees or other dinosaurs. If attacked they can easily trample the danger to death or, if it is tall enough, smack it with its tail. All of the unprovoked violence came from males during mating season. In the new park they will be included, but only females will be cloned as males are potentially dangerous. InGen File Name: Saurophaganax Name Meaning: Lizard eating master Code Name: Counted as an Allosaurus species and referred to as Al or Allo Danger Level: Extremely dangereous Height: 17 feet Length: 45-50 feet Weight: 5(?) tons Speed: 35 mph Diet: Various herbivores Weapons: Bite, speed, claws, size Description: Saurophaganax is one of the many species of Allosaurus cloned and it exists in a fairly large population. It is the largest of the Allosaurus species on average, though it is rivaled by the closely related Epanterias at maximum sizes. It is thought by many to be the deadliest predator ever to exist due to its combination of speed, claws, size, pack hunting tactic, jumping ability and hatchet bite, something it uses to kill sauropods and other prey with one swift hit to the neck. Their main prey items are Stegosaurus, Tuojiangosaurus, Triceratops, Torosaurus and Camarasaurus, possibly Sorna's only forest dwelling sauropod. They have been observed attacking and eating young Brachiosaurus and Argentinosaurus as well, though these sauropods are very rare prey and are most often preyed upon by carcharodontosaurs. They are primarily ambush predators that hunt in packs of anywhere from 4-15 members. They naturally breed and reach adulthood unusually fast and having the growth mutation reproduce even faster, resulting in a healthy population that is constantly growing. They are normally green with black bands across their head, neck, body and tail and have, unusually for a dinosaur, light blue eyes. The purpose of this is unknown, but it may have something to do with the fact that they need a characteristic that differentiates them from the very similar Epanterias. However, this is unlikely. Like Allosaurus, the young pack members use speed and their jumping ability to catch prey, but like Giganotosaurus they adults are more land based and leave jumping to the young pack members, their tactic usually being to distract, knock over or finish off the prey though they have been observed climbing on to the backs of sauropods and chopping their necks with their powerful "hatchet function". They also are described as "noisy" like most of the allosaurs and only need to be fed once a week, something that makes them easy to take care of. Also like the other allosaurs, they are very aggressive and act out of instinct rather than actual thought which makes them a very dangerous threat to keepers and, if they escape, guests and other dinosaurs. In the wild they most often are nomadic, owning no specific territory. This is unusual for an Allosaurus species because the others live in caves most of the time, very rarely leaving them unless it is to eat, drink, mate or defend their territory. Saurophaganax have never been trained to date, something that has been attributed to their relatively low intelligence. Some argue they have high intelligence displayed by their pack hunting tactic and are simply unwilling. Their sight is good and their smelling is great but not much is known about their hearing, though, as an ambush predator, it is probably good. Despite the dangers of putting them in the new park, Mr. Hammond has requested DNA samples to be gathered for cloning. He feels that all Allosaurus species are interesting and he plans to have them all at the park together in neighboring paddocks or possibly the same enclosure. FIGHT! Early in the morning before the sun is up a Saurophaganax pack rises. One of the adults sneaks away from the pack with the intention of catching his own prey so he doesn't have to share his kill. Feeling confident, he ignores the countless small herbivores that scurry past his feet. Instead he follows the scent of a large animal he catches on the wind. After a few minutes of weaving through the trees he sees the source of the appetizing aroma: a sleeping Stegosaurus laying under a partially collapsed watch tower. The Saurophaganax crouches behind some rocks and plots his attack. He lines his sights up, planning a quick sprint at the stegosaur which he will decapitate if his plan works. He prepares to spring off the rocks but just then he catches another scent. He ignores it at first but it is getting stronger. He takes his eyes off of his target and glances towards the direction of the smell. About a hundred yards away a Huaxiaosaurus has strayed from its herd and walks through the tall grass. The Velociraptor, Deinonychus, Skorpiovenator and Kryptops inside scatter out of the way of the giant. The Huaxiaosaurus stops and feeds on some of the grass, giving our Saurophaganax a golden opportunity. He stealthily stalks the hadrosaur from behind some trees and gets in position as the sun rises over the mountains. Lowering himself down he tenses in anticipation for the giant to get in the right position. Then he steps on a stick. The hadrosaur immediately hears it and lifts its head, smelling the air. It's now or never. The Saurophaganax dashes at the Huaxiaosaurus without a second thought and uses a fallen tree as a step to jump on its side. The Huaxiaosaurus roars out the warning call of a Tyrannosaurus and the Saurophaganax looks around in confusion, not having picked up the distinct odor of a tyrannosaur. The Huaxiaosaurus seizes the opportunity and shakes the carnivore off. The Saurophaganax gets up but the huge ornithopod knocks him back down with a shoulder ram. It rears up and stomps but the speedy Saurophaganax has already gotten up. He once again scales the Huaxiaosaurus' back and hacks at the base of its neck with his upper jaw but is quickly thrown off once more. The Huaxiaosaurus feels the nerve damage from the cracked vertebrae on his neck and takes a moment to relax. The Saurophaganax runs at him once again but the Huaxiaosaurus spins around and smashes his stiff tail against the predator. The Saurophaganax limply falls to the ground and attempts to stand with his shattered ribs. He coughs up some blood and stands with shaky legs, rethinking his plan. Saurophaganax considers leaving but notices his giant is not walking normally and has exposed vertebrae. The Saurophaganax uses his remaining energy to run at the Huaxiaosaurus. He runs from side to side, making the hadrosaur turn repeatedly and worsen its injury. It finally stops and wobbles on its leg because the pain becomes too much and the Saurophaganax immediately puts his plan into action. He uses his arms and legs to scale the Huaxiaosaurus' side and sees his target in the form of exposed bone. He starts towards his intended destination, desperately clinging to the beast with his claws. He stops to rest and once again coughs up some blood. His breathing is increasingly labored and he starts to black out but he resiliently fights it and starts climbing again. The hadrosaur finishes resting and rears up, forcing the Saurophaganax to hand on as tight as he can. His claws start to slip down the saurolophine's side and he digs in deeper with his long toe claws. The Huaxiaosaurus slams back down to the ground but it harts its neck more in the process. Once again the Saurophaganax starts to slowly climb as the overheated Huaxiaosaurus rests. He finally makes it to the neck but before he can chop the titan's neck with his upper jaw his tail is bitten. The tip is sheared completely off by the hadrosaur's beak so it tries again, turning and injuring its neck in the process. It bites the tail of the Saurophaganax and starts pulling it off but the allosaur catches itself at the last minute with its claws, digging them deep into the flesh of the Huaxiaosaurus. The Huaxiaosaurus pulls harder on the tail, dislocating several bones. It gives one powerful tug and yanks the Saurophaganax off, causing the carnivore to tear the flesh of the Huaxiaosaurus' shoulder. It quickly swings the Saurophaganax under itself and just as the Saurophaganax's pack shows up the Huaxiaosaurus stomps on its head while also simultaneously pulling its tail up with its mouth and dislocating every bone in its back with a series of snaps that would make anyone in the world shudder. The last shriek the Saurophaganax ever emitted echoes throughout the island as its pack backs up to avoid the same fate. The Huaxiaosaurus mock charges them for good measure before mimicking a Saurolophus call to find its herd again as the sun takes its place in the sky. WINNER: HUAXIAOSAURUS It was just too big for the theropod to bring down. With a 20 ton weight advantage, 20 foot length advantage and nearly a 25 foot height advantage when rearing up, Huaxiaosaurus was clearly quite an obstacle to overcome. Even the greatest experts at taking down huge prey, the allosaurs and carcharodontosaurs, could not take down a Huaxiaosaurus alone. There is a reason nature favored gigantism in herbivores like Huaxiaosaurus. Questions? Comments? Think this deserves a revision? Let me know and I'll respond as soon as I can. -DinoFights

Great job, but the only thing is that the Saurophaganax wouldn't attack something that big alone. Even if it was feeling cocky. Besides that, great job. Was it climbing the hadrosaur's back?

Yeah, I considered having two attack it but that would be too easy of a win for the allosaurs. And yes, it was climbing its back.

I think the ingen files are the best way to introduce a dinosaur. Gives it the feeling that you are reading a recounting of someone who went back in time and saw these dinosaurs for themselves.

Too much meat for a single Allosaurus. God Job, I would like to have those skills and I'm excited for the next.
