I may miss a few and the size estimates may be different from what you guys think, but these are certainly among the largest prehistoric crocodilians ever. 5. Euthecodon- 30 ft long, 2.5-3.5 tons Large crodilian from Africa. 4. Gryposuchus- 33 ft long, 3-4 tons South American giant. 3. Purussaurus- 36 ft long, 5 tons Another South American behemoth. 2. Deinosuchus- 40 ft long, 6+ tons A giant alligator from North America. 1. Sarcosuchus- 43 ft long, 7+ tons Possibly the largest crocodilian that ever lived. Known from Africa and possibly Brazil. Honorable Mentions- Rhamphosuchus- 26-30 ft long, 2-2.5 tons Originally thought to be 55 ft long and weighing more than 10 tons, Rhamphosuchus was recently reduced to a size of roughly 30 ft. Still large. This animal is known from India. Mourasuchus- ? ft long, ? tons This crocodilian is known from very poor remains from S. America. If it was like it's giant contemporaries, it was probably over 33 ft long and at least 3.5 tons in weight. However, it's remains are too incomplete to be sure. Stomatosuchus- 30 ft long, 2.5-3 tons This large African crocodile was certainly large. Sadly, it's fossils were destroyed during WW II. Until more complete remains can be found, we can not be too sure of it's exact size. Questions? Comments? Let me know.

Sorry, that pic did not turn out how I hoped it would. The different species go in the same order as my list. The last one, green, is a modern day saltwater crocodile. The length is a little hard to see, it says 10 meters at the top.

Hmm... I'm trying to think of another croc but I can't. Good list.

Thanks, I did my best to find as many other large prehistoric crocs as possible.
