Hello ladies and gentlemen "there may be imitators but this is the real deal" today we honour the past 2 final battle royales, to commemorate its achievements me and the FBR team would like to present the final battle royale 3 : Spinosaurus Aegyptiacus Height: 21 feet at top of head, 24 feet at top of sail Length: 59 feet Weight: 12 tons Weapons: Menacing sail, size, claws, bite Speed: 20 mph Primary diet: Fish, crocodiles, various aquatic animals, various herbivores, pterosaurs Description: Spinosaurus is known best as the dinosaur that killed T-Rex in Jurassic Park III, but could it happen in reality? Spinosaurus Aegyptiacus likely reached 59 feet as a maximum length and, being so long, probably had an immense weight to go with it. The largest individuals reached a staggering 12 tons! Gigantism in Spinosaurus served as protection from the contemporary Carcharodontosaurus, Sarcosuchus, Bahariasaurus and Sauroniops, all of which were roughly Tyrannosaurus sized. It handled them with its hooked claws that were attached to its long and powerful arms, which were its primary weapons. Among its secondary weapons were its conical teeth that were meant for gripping struggling prey rather than slicing or pulling off chunks of flesh, along with, of course, size. As if that weren't enough, its tall and brightly colored skin sail was used to scare away any potential competition. The sail also served as a thermoregulation device, allowing it to keep cool, stay warm or, possibly, maintain a speed without overheating. Ironically, it also took away an aerodynamic build. It was no slouch in the defense department either. It had thick, bony and tough crocodile-like scutes for defending against the dangerous bites of the ancient sharks and crocodiles it dealt with daily, as well as the bites of its infamous rival, Carcharodontosaurus. Compared to other spinosaurs, its jaws were relatively robust and it had a different bone structure, suggesting a hunting style that included not only fishing with its gaff-like claws, but also ambushing medium to large land dinosaurs like Aegyptosaurus that came to the shore of its watery habitat or even the monstrous Paralititan in mated pairs with offspring and perhaps with the help of Carcharodontosaurus, which may have brought it into competition with the large land carnivores. As such, only the largest Spinosaurus took on such a daring task, while any individuals under 50 feet likely stuck to hadrosaurs, wounded dinosaurs and the usual aquatic prey, and any under 40 feet were most likely piscivorous 95% of the time, only occasionally taking juvenile or small dinosaurs. Tyrannosaurus was one of the final dinosaurs to exist, its 2 million year reign lasting from 67-65 million years ago. Compared to Spinosaurus' reign of 15 million years from 115-97 million years ago, it seams meager. It is important to remember that while T-Rex was the king of North America, Spinosaurus was the pharaoh of Africa. Tyrannosaurus Rex Height: 18 feet Length: 46 feet Weight: 10 tons Weapons: Bite, septic saliva Speed: 25 mph Primary diet: Various herbivores, carrion Description: The apex predator of cretaceous North America, T-Rex, was a true monster. Reaching an average length of 43 feet and a weight of 8 tons, the largest individuals probably maxed out at an impressive 46 feet and 10 tons. Still, rumors persist of some Tyrannosaurus reaching 60 feet or more feet. Undoubtably, a 60 foot T-Rex could take out a 59 foot Spinosaurus with little challenge. But of course, there was the "phantom spinosaur" to challenge that... Even if it wasn't 60 feet long, it had the bite of a dinosaur that big. It chomped down of prey with a force of 6 tons! Even if it only successfully hunted about half the time like modern lions, anything caught in the 6 foot long jaws that were packed with 9 inch serrated bananas was sure to meet death. Much like lions today, it was faced with large herbivores like ceratopsians and sauropods, the prehistoric equivalents of the white rhinoceros and African elephant. While lions today wouldn't dare take on a full grown rhino, T-Rex may have been a bit different. The powerful bite was of capable of sheering off the horns of Triceratops, and, in families, taking out sauropods. Though sauropod slaying wasn't on the agenda very often, it may have happened every now and then. The preferred prey of Tyrannosaurus was hadrosaurs, which were much easier to hunt. While adult Tyrannosaurus could take an Edmontosaurus out with a single quick and powerful bite, juveniles were not so lucky and, after learning how to hunt from mom and dad, probably formed packs with other juveniles and the occasional impromptu stranger that joined in on a hunt. Though its arms were useless in a fight, its powerful and deep frame balanced on a pair of sturdy legs made up for that. Although a T-Rex's femur was longer than its tibia, suggesting a slow runner, leg muscle alone could push it to a brief speed of 25 mph, which it used to ambush hadrosaurs, or, perhaps, flip over the 30 foot living tank that was Ankylosaurus. However, rather than actively hunting these monsters daily, it probably was a major carrion eater, with teeth built for pulling away large chunks of tough flesh without falling out, rather than crunching bone as once thought. Not to say that it couldn't or didn't kill ceratopsians or ankylosaurs, but it would probably choose a nice carcass rather than a potentially deadly herbivore that could injure it to the extent that it couldn't hunt or even possibly kill it. Scavenging takes nothing away from the deadliness of T-Rex, but rather emphasizes the opportunistic nature it evolved that made it so successful. FIGHT! It is early morning on Isla Nublar, where an adult Tyrannosaurus male is stalking a wounded dinosaur. It smells a trail of blood. Sniffing the forest floor like a giant bloodhound, it easily maneuvers through the trees. After a few moments, it finds a broken branch with some blood on it from where the wounded dinosaur scraped itself. It smells and tastes the blood, identifying it as its infamous rival, Triceratops. It continues on the trail, eventually bringing the resting Triceratops in to sight. Whatever wounded and chased it is either dead or abandoned the chase. The Tyrannosaurus, knows that even though the Triceratops is wounded, it is still just as dangerous as usual. The giant herbivore is almost asleep when the T-Rex jumps out from the forest and bites one of its horns off. The Triceratops stands and lunges at the T-Rex, making it jump back, then sprints into the forest. Meanwhile, a Spinosaurus crouches in an ocean inlet under the cover of some trees, staring at a pair of sparring Kaprosuchus. The two roll closer and closer to the water until, finally, the Spinosaurus snaps his jaws around one quickly, much to the surprise of both Kaprosuchus. The other quickly sprints away, avoiding a similar fate. The Spinosaurus drops his kill on the shore and gulps down chunks. He looks at his scarred and somewhat mangled arm that holds down his kill, which serves as a reminder of the clash he had with a T-Rex roughly a year ago on this very beach. He walks into the sun, spotting a Stomatosuchus out of the corner of his eye. He knows the 33 foot crocodile would be more sustaining and easier to catch than the other Kaprosuchus he was planning on chasing. The pelican-pouched crocodile, knowing it is in danger, crawls quickly out of the way of Spinosaurus. It awkwardly crawls through the jungle as fast as it can, clambering down a rocky slope and then through a rotting log. It hides in it but the Spinosaurus stomps on it, crushing the log and exposing the crocodile's tail. It bites the tail and drags it out, crunching the croc between its jaws. As the crocodile takes one final breath, a wounded Triceratops crashes through the brush. The ceratopsian accidentally runs into a tree and its remaining horn becomes lodged in it, leaving it vulnerable. The Spinosaurus, already having a nice meal, ignores it and turns to leave, in search of a place where it can drop its crocodile meal since it can no longer grasp with one of its arms. Just then, a Tyrannosaurus comes in pursuit of the Triceratops. It roars at the Spinosaurus, which is already leaving, causing it to turn around. The Spinosaurus, having a mouth full of crocodile, can't roar back so instead just changes what is left of its sail to a vivid crimson and rears up as high as possible. While looking down at the tyrannosaur, it noticed a strange series of scars. Along its neck are a set of tooth marks that match its own perfectly, accompanied by claw marks that seem to look like a Spinosaurus'. The T-Rex backs up and roars again, itself now noticing the missing tooth and tattered sail. Suddenly, the atmosphere changes as the two old rivals stop with the intimidation tactics and get down to business, forgetting about their food. They circle, each waiting for the other to make the first move. The Spinosaurus does a mock charge, but the T-Rex doesn't fall for it. The T-Rex does the same, but follows his with a real charge, trying to bite into the Spinosaurus' back and in the process tearing off what little sail he had left. The Spinosaurus meets the T-Rex head on and grips the tyrannosaur's shoulders with its claws. The T-Rex digs its claws into the ground and pushes back. The Spinosaurus takes advantage and pushes its arms to the side, throwing the T-Rex off balance. It stumbles and crashes into a tree, which saves it from the many broken ribs it would have likely suffered if it fell on to the ground. It pushes itself off the tree with its foot, giving it extra force when it crashes into Spinosaurus. The no-longer-sail-backed giant falls on the Triceratops, accidentally freeing it. The horned dinosaur charges the T-Rex, inadvertently saving the Spinosaurus from being killed. The Spinosaurus stands up and slashes the face of the Tyrannosaurus while the Triceratops runs away. Angry at having his meal taken away, the Tyrannosaurus attacks the Spinosaurus with more fury, biting through the bony scutes on his tail. The Spinosaurus turns and bites the shoulder of the Tyrannosaurus, causing him to let go and he rakes the face of the Tyrannosaurus with his claws. The T-Rex chomps down on his arm, causing the spinosaur to roar in pain. The large dinosaur pulls his arm out of the T-Rex's mouth, having the lower part of it torn to shreds and beyond repair. The Spinosaurus uses his remaining arm to get in a tripod stance and pivots, smacking the T-Rex in the face with his bony crocodile tail. The Tyrannosaurus loses some teeth and stumbles to the side, tripping over a boulder and falls in a pond that cushions his fall. A shocked Dilophosaurus spits venom into the already blinded eye of the T-Rex as the giant lays there and then runs away. Kicking its legs, the Tyrannosaurus tries to find a foothold so he can push himself back up. The Spinosaurus comes over and splashes into the pond as well. He tears at the T-Rex's side, exposing some of his ribs. The T-Rex desperately kicks his legs out and finally catches a crater in the shallow water. He pulls his head out from under the water and digs his other foot into the muddy bottom, using his powerful legs to stand up. He then catches the Spinosaurus' foot in his jaws and pulls to the side, tripping it. The Spinosaurus falls on his back in the pond and as the Tyrannosaurus goes to bite his stomach, he kicks it in the face, fracturing its jaw. He stands up much faster than the T-Rex did, though not as fast as he would be able to with two arms. The Spinosaurus limps on his broken foot and stands near a tree where the Tyrannosaurus slams his head into him, sandwiching him and crushing his ribs. Blood drips from the Spinosaurus' mouth as the resilient dinosaur bites the back of the T-Rex and slashes his face again before limping back a distance. The Spinosaurus stands still, roaring and challenging the T-Rex to charge again. The Tyrannosaurus does and the Spinosaurus jumps out of the way at the last second in a matador-like way, causing the T-Rex to crash into a security tower head first. Pieces of wood, metal and glass shower the dinosaur. His large head is stuck and the Spinosaurus takes advantage with a bite to the hip, where he tears off a chunk and limps back again. Freeing himself, the T-Rex charges again and smashes his enormous head into a rocky cliff when the Spinosaurus moves. A number of pterosaurs fly out of their nests and swarm the Tyrannosaurus as the Spinosaurus does a charge of his own. The T-Rex, although annoyed by the flying reptiles, sees through them, turns to the side and the Spinosaurus misses his charge. The Spinosaurus stops short of the cliff but when he turns around, he is facing the T-Rex. The king and pharaoh stand face to face, both worse for wear. The Spinosaurus is sail-less, is missing part of an arm, has broken ribs, is internally bleeding and has a broken foot, while the T-Rex has a cracked lower jaw with a number of missing teeth, exposed ribs, is mostly blind, has a bruised and battered skull with exposed bone and a chunk of flesh missing from his leg. They circle once more and the Spinosaurus steals T-Rex's tactic, doing a mock charge followed by a real charge. It snakes to the side, however, biting the tyrant's lower leg before limping away and crouching on its three limbs. It uses its earlier play of swinging its long and powerful tail again and knocks the T-Rex dizzy. It follows up with a charge, but the T-Rex is prepared and takes a play from Spino's book with the matador tactic, causing the Spinosaurus to slam into a tree and stumble back groggily. The Tyrannosaurus itself is still a little dizzy and rests for a moment. Suddenly voices are heard in the distance. • • A team of big game hunters has been given permission to hunt the large carnivores of the islands, mostly T-Rex and Spinosaurus, which are quickly depleting the numbers of the islands' herbivores. Armed with .700 caliber elephant guns, the three have set off to hunt the legendary Tyrannosaurus and Spinosaurus, having already bagged numerous carcharodontosaurs and abelisaurs on Isla Sorna. Their tags still permit 10 of each. • • The party is surprised when they find fresh Spinosaurus tracks right on the shore. They drive their jeeps down a ramp from the boat and set off. The Tyrannosaurus and Spinosaurus, now recovered, listen intently to the sound as the jeeps drive along the trail of tracks. The group is laughing and talking but all laughter ceases when they come to the place where the two carnivores stand, staring at them. "FIRE!", yells the leader as the hunters start shooting. Before more than two bullets hit each, the Spinosaurus stomps on one car, instantly crushing it and everybody inside. The Tyrannosaurus flips the other one over with its nose and it rolls down a hill. The two stare at each other once more, and one man starts shooting from beneath the flipped over jeep. The Spinosaurus limps down the hill and flips the car with his arm, roaring and stomping on the remaining hunter that sat beneath it. Having taken three bullets to the leg, he carefully limps around but he is met by a bite to the back from T-Rex, which only took two, one of which hit him in the jaw while the other hit his arm. He forces the injured Spinosaurus down and bites at his neck with his weakened, though still fatal, jaws. The Spinosaurus rolls over and kicks the T-Rex in the chest, making it stumble back and trip over the jeep, but can't get up himself. His one good leg and arm can't quite get his heavy body off the ground. As he struggles, the T-Rex works on standing as well. A Kaprosuchus jogs over and sniffs the wounded dinosaur, but a roar scares it away. The Spinosaurus collapses in the mud as the T-Rex finally gets up after about ten minutes of rolling and kicking. The Tyrannosaurus comes over and bites the immobilized Spinosaurus in the back of the neck, killing it. Epilogue The badly wounded T-Rex limps away, the adrenaline that kept him going now gone. He has to stop and rest every few steps, the heavy Stomatosuchus body he picked up not helping. At sunset, he finally makes his way home and drops the crocodile. He, his mate, his oldest teenage offspring and his recently hatched babies hungrily eat. His family pack will have to hunt for him and protect him for months if he is to survive. Meanwhile, the Spinosaurus body is still laying untouched, the scavengers making sure it is really dead as to avoid death themselves. On the third day, a female Spinosaurus with three young come to the site and let out a roar of mourning despair. WINNER: TYRANNOSAURUS REX authors note (dino fights): You say it, and it becomes cliche, but honestly, this fight could have gone either way. Both were apex predators of their respective continents, definitely earning their reputations as the two baddest dinosaurs out there. What it really came down to in the clash of pharaoh and king was chance, and this time, Tyrannosaurus won, earning the only fatality win of the Final Battle Royale series. editors note (x _paden_x): Well this was by far my favorite fight yet, I do nod in disappointment that this is the last of this series, yes sad indeed, but with death comes new life, we intend to carry this series onward and upward, BUT we do need you opinion for more fights, As we intend, we might continue rex vs spino, but along with this new series id like to welcome 2 more series to FBR, i present: Trike VS raptor AND YOUR CHOICE FOR THE LAST NEW SERIES TO FBR , any dinosaur site a or b, veggie or meat eater it doesnt matter, BUT WE NEED YOUR INPUT MOST UNLIKELY OR LIKELY FIGHT IN JP !!!!! theorist note: (he hasn't gotten back to us on this but keep an eye on rex fan 684 for his scepticism and theories about the FBR series) ALI3N's note: (the same as rex fan, were waiting for his opinion and posible animation or whatever for it) As we crack open a bottle of Champagne id like to thank everyone involved in FBR, we will try our hardest to keep our fans happy and interested until jp4 and the rest of the new trilogy comes out, were looking at about a future of 7-9 years, were open to opinions ideas and new series... check out are some what working site :D this is the archive for it, we'll always use scified as our main site and publish our works on here Final battle royales website Thank you for being the best fans we could ask for!!!! -Paden ,Dinofights ,RexFan684 ,ALI3N *i do have a poster for this... but pizaps being mean today and refuses to work*

Kind of a bittersweet end. Spino has kids and a mate, but he leaves them. I thought for sure this would end in a draw but oh well. Next FBR should be Rex vs Trike.

By far the best fight I have ever seen! The final product is far better than I ever could have imagined. I'd like to thank the other members of the FBR Team for allowing me to help with this fight and using my theories and estimates in it. It was truly amazing. Can't wait for the next series too. Hail to the king and may the pharaoh's legend live on!

PS- I love the pics. I had used the first Spino pic and the second Rex pic on my site for the dino pics on each.

That was really good. The interference with the Trike worked in Spino's favour, while the people worked in Rex's favour and ultimately ended it . I think it could have been improved slightly with Rex and Spino having a truce while the people were in, and then resuming the fight after eliminating the people. In the end, T-Rex kinda put Spino out of his misery. Why didn't Rex take a bite out of Spino to eat though? Was it out of respect for his long time rival? Or was he just too tired and weakened?

Jack of all trades. Master of none

Sort of a combination of both.Spino went too far just to be eaten.

I think it had just the right amount of interference. I like that Spino had a new form of offense too.

First might be just a little better in my book due to the prestige... First had a good fight, second had a good ending, and third had both. Great facts and great pictures, along with great descriptions.

The best yet! I was a little doubtful about the series after you said the original final battle royale wouldn't be the end, but you've proved me wrong. It just gets better and better!

As the writer, I had my doubts as well. I wasn't sure I could keep up the quality. However, FBR 3 erased any doubt I had in my mind.

That's why I added interference, a building, cameo animals and a new fight tactic for Spino, so it could have new possibilities as a fight. In the end, I think it turned out perfectly.
