NoobMember0 XPJun-14-2013 7:20 AMBoy have I got some exiting news! My sister, who is an archaeologist/paleontologist has found some new fossils in South America, where her team has been on an expedition for fossils. I just got off the phone with her a few minutes ago and they're on to a huge find! At first they were finding smaller fossils of fish and crocodiles, but a few hours ago they unearthed a very large theropod. At first they assumed the skull was that of a Purussaurus, which it is very similar to in shape and everything. Upon further investigation, however, they found very large bones of a theropod likely rivaling the largest Spinosaurus in size. Currently, they have a partially complete skull, a femur, a claw and a couple vertebrae. I'll try to keep you updated on this but I'm sick and sleeping a lot.
Announcement Coming Soon

LegendMember6270 XPJun-14-2013 3:07 PMThat would be sick if they found a new theropod just as big as Spino. It could just be an exceptionally large Giga or Mapusaurus, but it could be a new dinosaur altogether. I personally believe that T-Rex is, and always will be, king of the dinosaurs. I just think that because it is the oldest (discovered, not years ago) of the super predators, and it's name means Tyrant Lizard King. That's just how I view it. If it is a new dinosaur, how freaking cool would it be if your sister named it and you had a dinosaur named after you (assuming your last name would be used). If it is new, I believe Rex Fan's site will have the first facts on it quickly/first.

NoobMember0 XPJun-15-2013 4:37 AMAwesome! The way I see it is that there are three possibilities:
1. Chimera of bones from known dinosaurs
2. Very large known dinosaur
3. It's a new dinosaur
For now we don't know, but hopefully we get new information soon.

NoobMember0 XPJun-15-2013 12:22 PMI would definitely put it on my site. If it is a new species, these are two names I can think of...
Austrotyrannus- southern tyrant
Tyrannosuchus- tyrant crocodile

NoobMember0 XPJun-16-2013 12:00 AMHmmm. Smaller fossils of fish and Crocodillia? How close in proximity to the skeleton? It may be a south American fish eating dinosaur. Probably lived in a swampy area. This find may be monumental. Most large fish eating dinosaurs lived in Northern Africa. Wow, this could be pretty cool.
