MemberCompsognathusJun-05-2013 8:55 PMAlthough this contraversiel topic takes place in the vendian era of the Pre-Cambrian, it's still worth bringing up. The Ediacarans were a group of soft bodied creatures that were bands of cells clinging together for a while, until they broke apart. However, the group Ediacarans died out before the Cambrian, therefore scientists don't know if they're to be considered animals. What do you think? Post a response and explain your reasoning.

MemberCompsognathusJun-06-2013 11:18 AMAre bacteria animals? Well, they are Eukaryotic cells... I say the same applies to the Ediacarans.
Btw, @futurepaleontologist, have you checked out my plot for JPIV? You'd be happy, because Carcharodontosaurus is the main predator for the movie! (sadly, it is killed at the very end by Rex......)

MemberCompsognathusJun-07-2013 4:50 PMThey're considered organisms eurkaryotes. Not really animals. The point of this argument is whether or not to consider these primiteve blob-like creatures animals.

MemberCompsognathusJun-07-2013 6:45 PMThis kind of thing has always been a bit of a sticky situation. I specialize in dinosaurs though, so I don't really know more than the basics when it comes to this stuff.

MemberCompsognathusJun-08-2013 6:29 PMI think personally that the ediacarans were experimental. They don't fit all the requirements of animals, but they're not just cells. I think they were a mix of the two
