DinoFights
NoobMember0 XPMay-28-2013 12:50 PMWelcome, ladies and gentleman, to the final fight of the first season of DinoFights. This clash of killer dinosaurs will determine the deadliest lightweight predator in the time when dinosaurs walked the Earth, and quite possibly of all time.
Deinonychus

Height: 6 feet
Length: 20 feet
Weight: 750 lbs
Weapons: Sickle shaped claws, speed, bite, intelligence
Speed: 45 mph
Diet: Medium sized herbivores
Description: Although not really this smart, it was closer in size than Velociraptor was, so it will be taking the place of the huge Velociraptors you saw in Jurassic Park. However, it was just as deadly as shown. It stabbed its prey with its toe claws and waited for them to bleed to death before eating them. Brutal.
Dilophosaurus

Height: 6.5 feet
Length: 20 feet
Weight: 1,500 lbs
Weapons: Spits venom, intimidating frill, claws
Speed: 25 mph
Diet: Primarily a scavenger, eats smaller dinosaurs
Description: A wily scavenging dinosaur, this strange little dinosaur used its speed combined with spittable venom to subdue small prey. It had long teeth with small roots, suggesting a diet of deceased dinosaurs. It's strange almost crocodilian skull would have a small bite force, not built for direct killing, but for finishing blinded prey off.
FIGHT!
It's afternoon on a windy day on Isla Sorna, and gray clouds cover the sky. A pack of 4 Deinonychus watch their territory over a cliff, after the smallest one, a brown male with black stripes, reported an intruder. The alpha male and female called the other pack mate, a dark black female, to go confirm. After she did, they baited the intruder with a baby Stegosaurus, freshly killed. Suddenly, the intruders come into sight. It is a pack of 4 Dilophosaurus. The alpha male and female lead two smaller males, one with a chipped crest and the other a strange green one, into the clearing. They look around for danger, then make a beeline for the carcass. The Deinonychus alpha female hisses quiet orders to the rest of the pack. They follow her orders, the alpha male and and younger male running down the left side of the cliff and the females running down the right. They come in on the Dilophosaurus pack full speed, dodging their venom with ease. The alpha Deinonychus tackle the alpha Dilophosaurus, holding them down and biting them. The black Deinonychus jumps towards the green Dilophosaurus, but he is ready and catches her. Being heavier, he easily gets her on the ground and bites her and claws at her. The male with the chipped crest wrestles with the striped Deinonychus, almost killing him several times with a bite to the neck, but his jaws were too weak. The striped Deinonychus pushed him off and prepared to spring again, but his venom gland had refilled and he spit right into the face of the Deinonychus as he sprung at him. The Deinonychus fell on the ground and the Dilophosaurus was quick to kill. He bites into the neck of the Deinonychus, gaining the first kill. The black Deinonychus kills the green Dilophosaurus just then, evening the score. They run at each other but at the last minute, the Deinonychus swerves to the side. The Dilophosaurus is confused at the Deinonychus' disappearance, but realizes what has happened when the Deinonychus' sharp claws stab into his back. In just a few seconds, he is bitten in the back of the neck and killed. In the meantime, the Dilophosaurus alphas have overpowered the Deinonychus alphas. Knowing they couldn't possibly win now that they're outnumbered, they sprint into the jungle. The female has suffered a stab wound to the chest, but it missed her vital organs. The alpha male Deinonychus has a bad bite wound on his face, but this will not kill him, even though it impaired his vision. The remaining three Deinonychus don't give chase, knowing the Dilophosaurus won't return anytime soon.
WINNER: DEINONYCHUS, 3/4 REMAINING
The Dilophosaurus were quite formidable foes, with a somewhat greater size and the ability to spit venom. The Deinonychus, however, met this with their gruesome claws. While the Dilophosaurus had greater size, it had a weak bite, even compared to most animals today. Their only major advantage was venom, and it took a little while to refill after being used, so it was a part time weapon. All in all, the Deinonychus were just more highly evolved killers.
