Why not! Ridley super imposing himself on the center character to the franchise he created. I'd do the same. Nice job digging up that photo MVMNT, really good comparison!

The both love talking... and getting their own way.
The most terrifying fact about the universe is not that it is hostile but that it is indifferent

Nice photo indeed. @Chris In a thread I created, I expressed the idea that David8 was taking orders from Ridley Scott himself, this photo makes this argument stronger.

@Chris 1st page last post....... Read also the last posts in the same thread, I explain some similarities between the urns in the temple room and Hannibal Chew's lab from "Blade Runner".

Very interesting MVMNT this just adds further weight to my own theories that like Weyland and David, Ridley and Damon were doing some of their own manipulation through the way things were presented. Putting us in the crew's shoes and all that. There could be some back and forth going on between what Ridley is doing with the series/how he and Lindelof present themselves/the project, and the way Weyland, David and the company are presented... This would mean that my belief that David is a key to the film may transfer over to what Lindelof knows and has been allowed to know/figure out about Ridley's overall plan. Lindelof's words are a key to the movie too, he gives things away sometimes.. They led us to believe and expect certain things simply by presenting us with certain ambiguous statements and by being vague about the connections to the universe. The Alien DNA statements and the "not a prequel but in the same universe" are the clearest examples outside of the way the trailers were shot, almost implying at first that it was the original derilect crashing. Purposely making us lean towards certain expectations, when really there are massive red herrings that are partially true and turn out to be "not what we expected" in the way it plays out, or what David meant... presented as the truth although what David's saying is only a fraction of the whole truth. They're creators too after all. Every tiny detail has been crafted by them, and despite what people's first impressions may have been there could be a lot actually going on we are not supposed to know about until Paradise. I really believe the sequel will not only retroactively change our perspectives on Prometheus-- but also the entire series. So if they planted lines like the Alien DNA one to make sense in multiple ways post-release then they've been doing a little bit of acting themselves that ties into what the characters in the film are doing. They've been playing with people's expectations to keep us in the dark and attempt to keep us being "so wrong" like the crew. And there may actually be a reason that Weyland represents Ridley in some ways, David represents Damon, and the company represents the Alien series or that part of Fox. Everything they said ahead of time was true but some of it turned out to be true in strange ways... The Alien DNA can actually be considered a pretty major part of the story that is literally contained within the Urns (they were making this statement when we didn't know if the classic Aliens would show up at all-- and many took it to mean a similar story structure which is also true..)
