If the Alien appears in a Prometheus film

If (by some remote chance admittedly) the pure, beautiful original Alien makes an appearance once more in a future Prometheus film, pristine, and with every detail in high resolution, I think it should move differently. I think the terror of the Alien has come full circle and he should 'walk', yes, walk a very slow, human gait as opposed to the insectile crawling introduced in Aliens and then which descended into pantomime 'scary monster' posturing in the AVP films. Think of the scene in the original where the creature is moving in for the kill on Lambert - that obscene mannequin movement with the arms perpendicular to the body and the six-fingered palms facing outwards. THAT is SCARY. The remnants of some obscene human intervention in the creation of the Alien is very scary and the human skull under the cranium to me represents a lost soul trapped inside a hideous biomechanoid essentially soulless body - that to me is a truly nightmarish notion

I completely agree Zeta, the slow movement is the creepy factor, and if it had a human "gate" that would be pretty scary indeed!

It's a great idea, with high-resolution details of these times can be scary and cool at once. Giger's Alien has nothing to do with the later versions. This is a real horror monster. But on the other hand I think that the appearance should not be in excess, it would ruin the fear factor and charm so to speak.

for me, Zeta, there should be some sort of VAMPIRIC ALLURE of the Alien's electromagnetic emissions. This might even affect the way he moves. Remember in Dr Who when those Weeping Angel statues appear. You look away, they get closer? Well, apply that to the Alien, such that he 'mesmerises' you so that you DON'T ALWAYS SEE HIM MOVING towards his foe; like you suffer BRAIN DAMAGE. He's just suddenly there, arms out, fingers spread, tongue flickering. Even if he doesn't get you that first time, the brain damage lingers, turns cancerous. Evil.

I agree with the OP. That slow, deliberate movement towards a prey is creepy like the way tarantula moves. God bless the lack of budget on that movie. I really wish to see bio-mechanical nightmare in the second movie. PROMETHEUS is a great introduction to the new world, but it doesn't scare me as much as ALIEN did

also I think the reason why PROMETHEUS is so toothless in the scare department is political correctness. The MEdPod scene is intense but it is not armchair-grabbing scary like the chest burster or the Lambert scene. Is Fox owned by a foreign entity that instructed them to make a kid friendly ALIEN prequel?

Solaris: I know what you mean! I do love the film but it has a carefulness about it in terms of violence. I wonder if alternate scenes exist, as was originally suggested when it might have been rated pg13?

Solaris, yes, pc is the cancer in film-production these days. All this kiddie-pandering and pious 'safety net' attitude is obscene in itself. There should be no grey areas - kids should strictly NOT be allowed in adult-themed films for a number of reasons. Freeplanet, your description there of a kind of shadow-play and deceptive perception is spot on.

I have recently googled for a picture of the alien in alien as I was trying to see the human skull at the front of his head . I downloaded a photo with the alien with his arms outstreþched. I opened the photo on my blackberry only to find it to be a very small flash video where the alien attacked dallas. Nearley soiled myself. Weren't expecting any movement as I thought it to be a photo. The thing that struck about the scene was the way the alien stuck its hands out and screached. It was almost as if it was saying to dallas: surprise surprise there you are, I've come to play hide and seek with you. Tah dah did you see how good I am !!! "the Alien is very scary and the human skull under the cranium to me represents a lost soul trapped inside a hideous biomechanoid essentially soulless body - that to me is a truly nightmarish notion" The above is brillianty said. It is almost as if the alien hates what is but cannot fight its own instincts. As if it is saying I don't like what I am but I cannot help myself. There is intelligence there. Human intelligence. I wonder if when cocooning (and maybe injecting something to start the egg forming process the alien might read have read the thoughts of those he injected by genetically as the egg forming might make their memories chemically acessable to him. In doing so he gleaned all the knowledge they had and knew that the ship were about to selfdestruct and realized that the lifeboat was the only safe place to go as it was also starting to change to next stage of its existence. He knew if he attacked ripley he would die as no one would be able to fly the escape ship. I also wonder about the the dolphin shape of the head. Is it maybe optomised to sent and receive sounds ? That screach isn't far different from a dolphin's or is it ? Is the xeno derived from a creature from a water logged world where it dark and needs no eyes and uses sound too see ?

I am in heavy favor of just seeing(something very brief) an alien in a Prometheus sequel, but after years of Sir Ridley saying no to the xeno and keeping his word on it not being in Prometheus i don't really want one or any for that matter in the sequel(s?). On the off chance that we do, i think that would we see the original chest burster burst out of the space jockey or the face hugger jumping on it. either way, it would happen in a third movie

I think it would have to be a alien-human hybrid but not like the ones in Alien res
