From: http://whatculture.com/film/how-i-learned-to-appreciate-prometheus-after-re-watching-alien-resurrection.php There's hope, apparently. (At least for some). Is this site the only one in the universe where the reviews have to be posted in separate sections labelled 'Like' and 'Dislike'? That has an 'official' review that reads like the first draft of a very bad press release written by someone who has never seen a movie before? (I love the site guys, just impressed by the lengths some of you go to preserve the illusion. I guess that's why they call us fans.)

LOL! Yeah, very true. I watched "Alien Rez" again the other day and have to admit it was kinda dorky.. (The Alien "baby" thing was creepier than any monster in Prometheus though) Also, Joss Whedon wrote the script, he is a quirky guy and I think the director didn't understand his style of tounge-in-cheek humor. An FYI; We had to separate the two sections for purely practical reasons; The huge amount of Trolling and vicious behavior that occurred on negative reviews was a nightmare for mods, it also helped keep staff from getting the movie spoiled as we moderated through the drama (we had to wait until the 8th a full week after the UK release).

i couldnt find the "newborn" alien seriously because of that dumb little nose thing it had.... and sniffed like a puppy. ive never seen a xeno sniff like that, and its got a lot of human DNA and i havent seen many people sniff like that either. does make an interesting action figure thought *ive got that one too* hehe.

Not sure if it's the only site but it's the best site. If you've read one good and one bad review of Prometheus you've pretty much read them all. Different takes on the films content is a different story. I didn't need or particularly enjoy reading good or bad reviews of the film. No "preserving the illusion" here, mate. And I don't think Chris had anything like that in mind when he decided to make to review sections.

I enjoyed the movie when I saw it, but I still don't think it's a classic and the more I think about it the less I think I like it to be completely honest........... But I still use Desecration as a drink coaster ;-)

It was just bad. Everything from the tech. (guns) to the one liners felt cheesy. I like Joss and the director. They just shouldn't have made an Alien film.
I may work for the company, but im really an OK guy.

The charachters were a catastrophy in Alien Res. The visuals were ok if you keep in mind that it was made in what? 97 something like that? I just watched Prometheus again and this time it was a better movie. The landscapes and the engineers looked great. But still after watching it twice, i think that the only character you actually find interesting is david, and he is not supposed to be the protagonist at all. if they made a movie just on David 8, i would definitly go see it. Btw, arent you guys relly dissapointed that they didnt use the music from the soundtrack at all in the movie? at least i was. Im a big fan of ambient and industrial/noise rock music and the score for the trailer is absolutely amazing! It would have given the movie a heavier feel to it.
