I agree with you. Lindeloff must be kicked off from the next Prometheus project. May be RS also have to be replaced, I don't know who is guilty for this shitty scenario. But if Prometheus 2 will be the same as 1 I'll not spend my money.

MemberOvomorphJun-01-2012 6:21 PMagree, i don't want a sequel on LV 4 8 15 etc, or "lost" in space.

MemberOvomorphJun-01-2012 6:21 PMId like Lindeloff to do Prometheus 2 thank you very much.
Now just wait until you HAVE seen it.
John D.
MemberOvomorphJun-01-2012 6:22 PMLindelof didn't direct Prometheus, nor did he produce it. Nor did he beg or plead to be brought on board.
He was asked by Ridley Scott to rewrite Spaiht's script. Lindelof AND Scott apparently developed the story together, from what they've both said in interviews.
Maybe we need to replace both of them?

MemberOvomorphJun-01-2012 6:25 PMWho do I want?
Too late...it's a done deal, thats the package for better or worse. Ridley knows what he's doing, I trust that.

MemberOvomorphJun-01-2012 6:34 PMRubirosa, you seem to have a graphic violence theme going on in your thread, you do not need this to produce a great film, I saw it tonight and though it was fantastic, unique story and works as a stand alone movie as it was intended to be.

MemberOvomorphJun-01-2012 6:39 PM"I have not seen the film yet. But from the negative feedback that I have been reading on this site. Also from my experience on watching Lost for so many years, and then to be smacked in the face with a pitiful ending. I now know that Lindeldorf has to go."
I agree. I was always very, very concerned about Lindelof's involvement. Having just seen the film I'm sad to report that my concerns have played out :-( the story has Lindelof written all over it. But beyond that RS let this happen, which is also massively disappointing. My worse fears have been confirmed - Scott f'd up and Alien was a one of fluke. Very, very poor. It's worse than I ever thought it could be! I'm in pretty much complete agreement with the Empire review. Sums up how i feel perfectly, which is so sad for me to have to say :-(

MemberOvomorphJun-01-2012 6:40 PMthe Xenos and the horror are coming bit youll have to wait for part 3 i reckon, lets not forget this is going to be an epic of a story when its finished and the Xenos are only a small part of it

MemberOvomorphJun-01-2012 6:51 PMVincent Ward. Guy who came up with the wooden planet first draft of Alien 3. Maybe a little Bosch would be good.
He's at the very least the second most creative person to ever work on an alien movie in any compacity. No one else ever thought to have a weird ass wooden planet.

MemberOvomorphJun-01-2012 6:59 PMI do like graphic novels @yasjooni. Im just tired of writers like lindeldorf maling a career of teasing the public with all there projects. I understand that not all answers can be or should be answered. But come on dont over do it. He's a perfect soap opera writer, because those stories never end.

MemberOvomorphJun-01-2012 7:31 PMHow come they didnt go back to Ronald Shusett (one of the original writers of "Alien") to write or co-write "Prometheus"?

MemberOvomorphJun-02-2012 1:52 AMBecause he had to cancel production of At the Mountains, my vote goes to Guillermo del Toro. I think he could do amazing things.
BTW. I've just listened to an interview with Sir Scott (BBC Movie Reviews), and he mentioned that he'd like to do two sequels to Prometheus, and that the the second would lead up to Alien!
So, there you have it, straight from the horses mouth - although we'd probably have to wait a few years.

MemberOvomorphJun-02-2012 1:53 AMAm 100% sure that if there was a single thing about Lindelofs script that RS wasn't a huge fan of, it would have been cut out, and Lindelof told in no uncertain terms, to sort it out.
RS scifi hallmark is unanswered questions.
In case you didn't know, the unknown spacejockey appeared in his film 30 years ago, not Lindelofs.
If you watch the making of Alien in the boxset, even when Ridley was only on his 2nd movie, he had no qualms about telling guys with 40years experience in the movie industry where to go to make sure he got his vision of the movie on celluloid, and not theirs. And if anything he hasn't softened.
So, keep your little views that Lindelof ruined RS film if you like, but it's wrong. Some opinions are just wrong, they don't stand up to any objective scrutiny at all.

MemberOvomorphJun-02-2012 2:43 AMby the way Lindeloff IS an executive producer for Prometheus...
He has to go - The screenplay sucked fat ass....
Who should screenplay up the sequel - How about one of any of the talent on this forum.....
give db the job.
You have my sympathy

MemberOvomorphJun-02-2012 3:49 PMwhat about JJ Abrams?
Raven
MemberOvomorphJun-02-2012 4:29 PMI still say Tarantino, he writes amazing dialouge and has a penchant for filming nice, violent action scenes. Let Ridley be the director and take care of framing the scenes and he also has an amazing eye for visuals.
Rubirosa
MemberOvomorphJun-02-2012 6:41 PMThe problem with JJ Abrams is that he worked with Lindledorf on lost. So I would be skeptic to bring him on. Tatrintino would be taking the Alien franchise in a totaly diferent direction. I would bring him on as long as he did not add to much humor to rhe script. Also, because he is a sussesfull director. He and Ridley might find difficult to work together. But you never know.
Raven
MemberOvomorphJun-02-2012 6:51 PMRubirosa, good point .I forgot to add Tarantino would have to take the humour out of his violence , but I believe he would have a totally different take on the franchise just as he has WW2 movies and Kung Fu movies and I think it would be totally fresh and interesting.

MemberOvomorphJun-02-2012 7:44 PMI truly wish that it could happen, the Tarentino experiment @Raven.

MemberOvomorphJun-02-2012 7:59 PMI would definitely go with Lindelof over Tarantino any day of the week. Sure Lindelof may be horrible at providing answers but his writing style is a much better fit for science fiction than Tarantino. James Cameron would be an amazing fit for project I think.
