what a person thinks needs to be "explained" in a movie it might been explained already, but that person didn´t pick it up...Can be right?

There was a still released, that showed Vickers on the ground with her arms up, in a posture of apparently attempting to shield/protect herself. The camera is poised above her as if it's a POV shot, just before she gets squashed by something.....presumably, the rolling juggernaut.

MemberOvomorphMay-29-2012 7:12 PMI am intrigued by what Ridley Scott meant when he said This movie is about who made us, who made them.. and he even said on some clip it's about what happens when we die and after. I think those are too many questions to answer in one movie!

MemberOvomorphMay-29-2012 6:59 PMCharlize mentioned in L'Ecran Fantastique something interesting about the third act where Vickers is lying on the ground outside.. then i remember seeing a picture where she was lying and the camera was directly over her. hmmm..

MemberOvomorphMay-29-2012 6:36 PM@Brett Exactly, he says characters are not as strong as in the first two Alien movies, but he believes a future director's cut might solve that issue. However, he praises Fassbender and uses the term "classic". The review doesn't contain real spoilers.

MemberOvomorphMay-29-2012 6:44 PMI have the impression the newer generations are going to have a blast with the movie. Probably that's what Scott/Lindeloff wanted. I am saying this because of the young guy's pre-screening review on youtube. He looks and sounds really mystified by the film, like he will be losing sleep over it.

MemberOvomorphMay-29-2012 6:46 PMAs far as I was concerned my investment character-wise was solely extended to Shaw, Holloway, Vickers, Janek, Fifield...and David. I have a hard time investing is the rest of the cast from the knowledge gleaned thus far. Not sure, in a way, we're supposed to anyway. In Alien, Lambert was hardly a compelling character nor was Brett, and Parker was mildly so due to his last brave act.
At least it seems whom they have made an effort for us to focus on...of those, Janek, Vickers and Holloway are the most typecast, David the most intriguing, Fifield compelling (to me), and of course Shaw is the center.

MemberOvomorphMay-29-2012 6:52 PMAccording to this guy I was talking about, there is one hell of a third act, like a roller coaster ride that comes to an abrupt end. Supposedly, none of the trailers we have seen prepares you for that third act.

At the same time I think that after seeing Prometheus we as fans are going to pick up clues from the movie Alien itself. It is of my opinion that the Xenomorph in Alien is going to look familiar to us. I wish that I could describe to you exactly what I want to say. I hope you guys understand me.

MemberOvomorphMay-29-2012 7:22 PMI trust Ridley, but Im not so sure about this reviewer. I looked at some of his past reviews and he gave Iron Man 2, Tron: L, Surrogates, and even the last Underworld movie between 8 and 10 stars. And he gave Moon a 5.

MemberOvomorphMay-29-2012 7:26 PMthe best thing about this review is the user doesnt appear to be some die hard super Alien fan, yet he still labels it a classic. i think those of us who grew up with Alien and Aliens and have seen both movies hundreds of time as i have are going to think this movie is the greatest thing ever

MemberOvomorphMay-29-2012 7:32 PMNow I bet this has been discussed over and over on other threads, but how come the Space Jockey in the first Alien was like petrified, and also the chamber containing the eggs and the eggs themselves seemed to be very old... if the Xenomorph didn't exist by the time the events from Prometheus take place and evolved from the other creatures featured on the new film, that would be a big problem.
