MemberOvomorphMay-05-2012 12:15 PMHi DAVIS:
I believe that the space crafts of that particular ET origin are bound to appear, since the story seems to revolve around the SJs.
In that sense, why would Sir Ridley show us derelict like ships if not intended to appear?

TheNextLV426
MemberOvomorphMay-05-2012 12:33 PMProbably so the general public associate the movie with the aliens universe

MemberOvomorphMay-05-2012 7:15 PMI'm still trying to figure out that frame of Sharon Stone.
HAL 9000
MemberOvomorphMay-05-2012 7:49 PMYeah like it's a real bargain publicity stunt that one... Oh man, quadruple face palm.

MemberOvomorphMay-06-2012 5:44 AMHmm... I mean the flash images near the end of each trailer.

Co-AdminMemberOvomorphMay-06-2012 5:49 AMOnly alien ship I've seen is the one that looks like it's crashing, or being forced to land (wink wink) into the planet they've landed on to explore. I'm actually starting to let go of the thought that it is in fact the Derelict from the original Alien.
But I really hope it is ;-P

"Is it dead this time?" "I dunno, poke it with this stick and see."
HAL 9000
MemberOvomorphMay-06-2012 7:00 AM...so what about the one that is just about to take off from its underground hangar? We've all seen it a hundred times by now. Cypher, I agree with you though that it might well not be the one on LV-426, but it is clearly of the same make/origin, right? But I'm also more than happy to drop that topic for good... the movie is literally on our doorsteps, then we'll all know.
Ripley's Bicycle Seat
MemberOvomorphMay-06-2012 7:28 AMFor years I've suspected that the Derelict was as much a piece of art as it was a spaceship. By that I mean, that perhaps no two SJ vessels would be the same. I'm also leaning in the direction that like the Xeno's the SJ ship technology would also be biological and technological. No two trees look exactly alike, so would it be with these ships.
Besides, in one of the trailers I specifically saw the three...er...labia like entrance ports on the side (exactly like the ones Dallas, Kane and Lambert entered in Alien) Watch the trailer where Prometheus rams into the Derelict preventing it from leaving the planet.
I pretty sure its the one from Alien.
Id Rather Be Eatin Something Else
MemberOvomorphMay-06-2012 10:21 AMAlso, it looks very rocky, with jagged out-croppings in its final resting place in Alien and when its crashing - if indeed it is the same ship crashing and I am inclined to agree that it is - there doesn't seem to be as many Jagged cliffs that it seemed to have 'collapsed down' upon I guess. Unless it is 'crahsing/force-landing' between hills, hilloks or those horrid looking outcroppings of mountainous rock how does it come to 'lay' or 'come to rest' upon theose very same rocks on an apparant elevation if you watch the three in Alien they all crest a rise and are met with a startling yet speechless visual revelation. And each one of those bio-alien ships, if there is more than one, are sort of uniquely groomed so to speak for the tastes of the particular occupant or 'owner' if they even have such a concept as ownership in their own cultral lore.

Thank you. How you found this?
The alien ship in Alien (1) is not same ship like Prometheus.
